I DM’d this for a group of friends during a holiday party and we got about half way through. It is a fun and straightforward one-shot that I’d like to run for 4-5 players for those who are interested. I want to reply as often as I can so I plan on checking the thread regularly throughout the days and want to get a group through it relatively quickly. In-person it would take 4-5 hours so it shouldn’t take too long here.
*no spoilers
I tried this with a group on here already and most of them fell off pretty quick. If you are willing to put the effort into playing I am willing to put forth the effort to make it fun, engaging and have a quick turn around. I check the thread several times per day, so if you want to have plenty of activity please join. If you don’t think you can stick with it this may not be for you. I’m guessing it will be 150 pages long. The last group got a quarter way through the campaign in 19 pages.
Create a Level 3 character. This story is based off 1st Edition D&D play style (I’ve only played 5e) with rules and mechanics of 5e. So think of classic sword and sorcery high fantasy (LOTR, GoT) when creating a character. I’ll veto cyberpunk or anything ’modern’. And if you have a familiar it’ll just have to be natural animals (no imps). I’m new to this so if everyone knows the mechanics of playing on here better please be patient with me.
You receive a letter. I carries the sigil of Sir Tristan, a benevolent lord whom you have been hired by in the past; you know he is a good lord and he has shown to be trustworthy before. The letter reads:
”My humble servant, I am writing to you because I know you are a capable warrior. My town has been overrun by a terrible mality. My people are attacked nightly by a horrible monster. Myself and my guards have continued to fight the thing off but I have lost too many men, too many resources and I fear for the safety of my people. Please, come with the greatest of haste in this, our greatest hour of need. Humbly, Sir Tristan”
"They always forget to list the price, you think they would know by now to get better responses they should mention the rewards of success. No matter, Progo know how to negotiate price. Sales have been slow so Progo will go!"

( Sorry, slightly confused. Are we beginning play in the Recruitment thread?)
(Presuming I and possibly everyone is in...) Here is my Character Sheet: https://ddb.ac/characters/98332330/cx3Vp4
Fred, having received the letter from Sir Tristan, and with his urgent call for aid, gathers his adventure pack and heads down the road to town.
He mulls in his head all the possible creatures (horrible monsters) it could be. Fred readies himself for the upcoming fight, if needed.

There goes my sleep schedule … Thalron gruffs to himself. No matter, it will be good to see Sir Tristan again. How many years has it been?
Thalron stuffs the note in a pocket and wipes the beer foam from his beard onto his sleeve.
”Looks like I won’t be needing a room tonight after all.” He says to Ingred, the proprietor of the “Stumble Inn” as he stands from the table.
He settles his tab, gathers his things and hustles as fast as his Dwarven legs will carry him to his next adventure.
