"we should clear the other rooms, and begin to bring the other survivors here.
Acolyte, we are working to save Elturel from this fate, to raise it back to where it was before, and prevent this happening to other cities..." IronMaiden chimes in, stepping into the sight range of the huddled masses.
"That is unfortunate", Corlith replies regarding the leaders being dead. "I agree with Ironmaiden,it is best we leave the people with you whilst we check the rest of the building. If it is clear, there might be a safer place for you upstairs, although perhaps not".
"And Holy Water would certainly help me, it is necessary for my protection spell", he says.
Some telepathic back and forth between the IronMaiden and Lulu could likely be noticed by more perceptive members of the party, but what us not subtle at all is the fact that after the unheard conversation, IronMaiden hesitantly approaches the little flying elephant creature and embraces them in a tight hug for a little longer than is completely necessary.
Virro looks over and says to himself, “Holy water definitely has its uses….” he walks over and examines the surrouding scene, examining the faces of those there, looking for anyone out of place. “Acolyte, we do have some stragglers that need shelter, they should stay here with you. If there were any leaders left, or anyone else alive, where would they be? Anywhere else we should move to as we try to get a foothold here?” Virro starts to look through his things for any containers to potentially fill with holy water.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Answering Reed, the woman nods, "Yes, just splash it on some fiends and it hurts them." She nods as others address the holy water, "Please take what you need. We have plenty of that."
The hollyphant shudders a bit as IronMaiden embraces her, and then a big grin erupts on her face. Then her face crumbles and it looks like she is almost in tears. You all hear the following within your head..
I remember something!! Oh wait... I remember that the Zariel I knew is gone, replaced by a devil with a halo of fire and vengeance. ‘This is who I am,’ she told me. ‘When demons die, they cry out my name in terror.’ Those were Zariel’s last words to me.
Lulu hangs her head with these thoughts..
Turning to Virro, the acolyte responds, "Yes, my name is Pherria Jynks and I will try and keep your refugees safe as well. There is someone left, the Grand Duke from Baldur's Gate was here when Elturel fell." At these words, Reya takes a few steps towards Pherria, attention completely drawn in, "Yes, the Grand Duke Ravengard took a group of guards to Elturel's grand cemetery to investigate the proliferation of undead in that area. Also, he was hoping that a holy relic in the cemetery chapel called the Helm of Torm's Sight might provide some awareness into Elturel's dire circumstances and possible salvation.
But we expected him back hours ago... I fear the worst has befallen the duke."
IronMaiden releases Lulu from the embrace and gives her a nod. Then addresses the group. "We clear this level, bring in the rest and then head to this cemetery, yes? We should move."
Reed fills a waterskin with holy water and heads back out into the passages to see where the north tunnels lead and to make sure no baddies are hiding there.
Reed salutes Corlith, waves his hand at something only he can see and sneaks off down the hallway to take a look at what's in the room at the end (west - looking into the north doorway) - Stealth (19+11) = 30
Virro fills a few containers with holy water, saying his thanks to Pherria. “Which way is the cemetery? Sounds like we need to hunt for the Duke and see what befell him.” Virro prepares himself, then he turns to see Reed looking at the other end of the hallway, he follows a good bit behind him, ready to give support.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"The cemetery? Straight west of here, that would be great if you could find out what might have befallen the duke.. he has been nothing but great help since his arrival and I would hat eto think something bad has happened."
Reed heads back down the hall they came from and goes further west, taking a peak into the north doorway, Virro a few steps behind.
Ironmaiden, getting impatient, usher the rest of the group to follow reed, taking special care to make sure reya is near as they check out the western corridors.
With sword in hand, Reya heads up with Ironmaiden and the others as the suit of armor ushers them on to follow Reed and Virro. Lulu turns to look at Pherria, gives her a little nod and brings up the rear of the party as they head back down the passageway.
As Reed has seen, the next room to the north holds a smaller crypt, with eleven alcoves lining the north, west and eastern walls. Plain stone shelves in the alcoves each hold one set of remains.
Roo has kept quiet, and never seems to stop aweing at the the sight of what human hands have built. It is far and beyond more grandiose than anything ever created by the feathered fingers of the Gallus people. He hears the story of the woman who killed the dragon...and for a moment, Roo' Stor almost falters. Are these featherless twits really capable of all this?
He quickly decides the answer is no. But at least they're trying and, by Gallus, sometimes that's good enough.
"Any idea how close we are to wherever we're going? Buck." Roo says as he steps up close to Reya. "This travesty of a civilization you featherless have constructed to entomb yourselves from the light of Gallus is so labyrinthian I am afraid I've lost my sense of where we are."
Reya cautiously enters the tomb and looks around, "I'm sure there are, Hell Riders have been heros of this city for as far back as I know. But this room.. I have heard of it, it holds those that served Trom and Elturel with knowledge. Teachers, engineers, sages.. ones of that sort."
She smiles down at Roo, "I'm sure being down in Avernus and away from Gallus is a lot for you. I'm very glad you came with us though. As for clearing out this fortress? I'm not sure, but we should keep moving, there could be others here that well... there was a reason Pherria was guarding those survivors."
Corlith follows quietly along with the others, letting Reed do what he is best at, sneaking about. At the mention of sage's and scholars, his interest perk up. He wasn't exactly scholarly himself, but he had studied with those that were.
"It is good to hear those that are learned are treated with as much reverence as those that ride around on horses waving swords about", he says wryly.
He wanders in to take a look, but tries not to be openly disrespectful to the bodies.

Reed looks around at the others.
"Does holy water help with devils?" Reed asks. Then he looks at the air near his head. "No one was asking you."
He heads back out to let everyone else know what they've found, and that there may be more devils around still.
Reed then slips up to looks further down the tunnels directly north.

Reed returns shortly, waterskin still full.
"Just a dining hall or something," Reed says. "If you want chairs, I've got the place for you. Otherwise, nothing that way."
He looks back at the hiding people and then at the party.
"Down that way?" Reed asks, pointing 'west'.
Corlith replenishes his supply of holy water as well.
He nods back at Reed, “Just be careful. If you see or hear anything moving, come and get us”.
Reed salutes Corlith, waves his hand at something only he can see and sneaks off down the hallway to take a look at what's in the room at the end (west - looking into the north doorway) - Stealth (19+11) = 30

"Are these more heroes of the city?" Reed says when he sees Reya follow inside.

Reed noses around in behind the bodies a little and comes across a handful of red amethysts (9 @ 50 g each) and a potion of greater healing.
He slips the gems into his bag, saying as he does "I'll keep these safe until we can spend them."
But he holds up the potion to the others. "You charge in a beat the other guy with a pointy sword types might need this."
