“Stay there and rest , Archie”, Corlith suggests. “We have a few rooms to clear out”.
“I’m ok Wilfred, and I have some magical protection at the moment”, he adds as he moves to the first doorway Wilf is going to open and stands alongside him ready to enter as well.
Reed finishes going through the pockets of the guards, and comes up empty.
"I don't think they get paid very well here," Reed says. Then he calls over to Virro. "Virro, this one has very nice long fingers. The other's are kind of gnarly and banged up."
He presses his head up against the final door and waves over at Corlith and Wilfred. He points at the door (the west door on the south wall - that Guard C was guarding).
"This one," he says quietly. "There's something or someone in there."
He steps back to give the others room to move and nocks an arrow into his bowstring.
Virro says, “Yeah, there’s no way to get her out of there without killing her. Or doing something to her that I can’t fix… Oooh! Nice fingers!” He steps forward with his dagger and kneels, cutting a finger from each of the guards.
When he hears Reed’s words of warning, he steps forward, stowing his dagger and pulling his black leather gloves tight..

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Slobberchops looks up at Reed expectantly, waiting for another morsel to drop. As imps are mentioned, you hear a low growl come from the winged cat's throat.
Reya continues to stare at the suit of armor even when Archie starts cursing. "How? What? Why? I don't understand. Like... at all."
She does finally draw her eyes away as Reed points to a certain door. She has her swords ready and stands by it, and taking the cue from the rest of the group, looks expectantly at Wilfred to open the door.
Wilfred nods as everyone gets into position. He goes up to the door that Reed indicated. "Hello, we are coming in. We really don't want to kill you, but if you attack us like these people did, we might not have a choice. We just want to have a conversation. Yea? Good."
Wilfred will look to the others then back to the door. He will will be on his guard as he opens the door and looks inside.
When Wilfred opens the door, he sees a very frail, sickly looking man standing on the other side of it, obviously trying to decide on something. But once he sees the lot of you, his face scrunches up in anger and is on the attack. (sorry, just missed the DC)
Slobberchops rubs against the door frame, oblivious to Thurston, but then stops mid rub and hisses.
Slobberchops frowns at Reed's question, then looks down and shakes his head. For those good at reading cats you'd get the distinct impression he was disappointed in the halfling.
Roo hears Reed's warning and moves to a position near the door, but doesn't enter the room with the scraggly lookin' cluck inside. Instead he paused and scanned the room, trying to discern what was happening inside. Golden energy radiated along the length of his comb as he sensed...

Reya starts her way to the bedroom door to assist with her new friends, but realizes she can only just get inside the door and then will block everyones entrance. Staying behind Wilfred, she attempts to shoot Thurstwell with her crossbow and again the bolt goes wild. "I really need to stop using this damn thing."
Seeing the group beyond the door, Thurstwell first casts sacred flame upon Wilfred, if he doesn't save (4 radiant dam). Then he runs behind the bed in his room and casts sanctuary on himself. Once there he pulls on a rope that is hanging from the ceiling. You hear a bell chime somewhere on the 2nd floor.
Wilfred takes the damage and frowns. "Ahh, damnit. They just don't listen. By the fireplace, right Roo?"
Wilfred walks in, trusting his friend. As he passes the fireplace, he swipes with his glaive, but doesn't hit anything. "Invisible bastards." He continues to move into the room, right next to Thurstwell. "You really should have listened." He swings the butt of his glaive at Thurstwell, striking him in the jaw.
Attack imps: to hit 9, 7 slashing damage
Bonus Thurstwell: to hit 11, damage 5 bludgeoning non lethal
The chime rings continues to ring ominously for a few seconds before finally dying out.
After Wilfred swings wildly at the imp in the fireplace, but then turns his back on it, it blinks into view as it stings Wil in the back (7 piercing dam, 4 poison)
Wilfred shakes of the sting and as he knocks Thurstwell in the jaw, the sickly man crumples at his feet.
The door to Archie's right opens and a suit of black plate armor topped with a bucket helm and equipped with a longsword and a shield strides into the hallway directly at Archie. Orange flame appears to fill the interior as it moves and strikes against another suit of armor. Reya turns her head and sees the odd view of suit upon suit. She would almost find it funny if she wasn't so worried about Archie.
The black suit of armor draws his long sword and attacks, swinging wildly with both, missing the IronMaiden both times.
Reed, peeking around the corner from the hallway stops looking at the fireplace for the invisible imp and turns his attention back into the hallway and this new monstrous suit of armor.
"Do you know this one, Archie?" Reed asks.
He decides that the armor attacking Archie right away probably means that they have spent time with Archie in the past.
"Hmm, it doeslook like it has met you before," Reed adds.
He moves his bow to aim at the armor, waiting for the moment it follows through with its longsword before letting his arrow fly. He gets his fingers caught around the bow string, but luckily the arrow manages to bounce off the stone wall and still head generally in the right direction. Reed then trips to slip behind a hanging tapestry to give himself a little cover from which to work, and while he almost trips, he still manages to stumble forward without bringing the whole tapestry down on his head.
Shortbow Attack: (1, 10 - reroll from Hafling Luck +6) = 16 to hit for (4+4 plus 6+1 sneak attack) = 15 damage
Cunning Action to Hide - Stealth: (1 2 - reroll from Halfling Luck + 8) = 10
Virro turns and sees Archie in trouble, he braces his shield and runs at the suit of armor, hoping to knock it back. “Knock it back down the stairs!” He looks to shove the suit of armor back 5 feet, to the top of the stairs. “Push him down, Archie!”

Corlith looks from Wilfred, who looks like he is on death's door with one of the imps attacking him, to Archie who is now being assaulted by another large suit of flaming armour. Seeing Reed and Virro divert their attention to helping Archie, he focusses his on helping Wilfred.
"One thing at a time. Stay strong Wil, almost done", he says as he steps into the doorway and reaches out with his magic, sending cleansing flames down upon the imp. He doesn't stop moving though, and he calls out to it in the infernal tongue trying to distract it, "Your masters are falling one by one, submit to your fate!".
