Both of you see four adventurers (halfling, kobold, half-orc, dwarf) crowding around a human menacingly. One of them yells "If you won't give us our money, we'll take the tavern!" and slams an axe into the human's chest. He slumps to the floor, instantly killed.
Tully continues to play, but now is subtly looking at the new rowdy band of adventure. I want to see who is the most dangerous in the troop.
[Can I get an advantage on my perception or insight check since I am hiding in plain sight and I would have a good look at the entrance?]
Because you bothered to look, you notice that they are wearing the Dran Enterprises logo. During your briefing, you were informed they were a rival company and that you should "forcibly remove" any of their employees from your franchise's licensed territory. However, because you are not in the room, it takes you a moment to react. You will have a penalty on initiative.
You are now in combat. I will roll initiative for everyone, using a group combat system where you will all be in the same initiative group (all of you can take turns simultaneously), but some of you will be at before the monsters and some after-meaning some of you will essentially get a "free turn" at the start of combat. This is a system I have tested somewhat on play-by-post, and it will make sense after a few combats.. Everyone who was not quoted in this post, you are presumed to have followed the Dran Enterprises employees and are in the room, but they will not attack you until you join the combat by posting.
Grogan and Tully both rolled higher than the monsters, so they have a turn now. After the monsters act, all characters will have turns (including Grogan and Tully), then the monsters. The purpose of this system is to allow all characters to have the same turn without negating the benefits of high initiative. I will wait at least 3 IRL hours before declaring the monsters act again. During your turn, roll both attack and damage or declare the save DC needed and the results for a successful or failed saving throw, and I will resolve that on the monsters' turn.
Tully will join his way toward the room that the other group is in but will not come any closer than 40ft. He will then cast emerald green fairie fire on the group, trying to hit the whole group and in turn giving advantage to all attacks against them and revealing anything invisible.

As it falls to his side, caught by the shoulder band it's attached to, he jumps down from the table he was standing on and draws his short sword and moves towards the room. "Halt fiends, you had better have a good explanation for ghat or be prepared to join him!" (Full movement towards the murderous crew with sword pointed at them with a readied attack if any of them show aggression and get within striking distance of him

The wild magic hits all of the enemies (it is a relatively small tavern). The warpick attack hits the halfling, and between the magic and the warpick he is obviously very injured.

Because of the relatively small size of the tavern and the bystanders attempting to get our, you couldn't get line-of-sight to the Dran Enterprises employees any further away than 20 feet.

The tremendous blow of the half-orc threw off Grogans balance and he swings wildly back, more in a deaperate defensive move more then skilled attack. He yells out "DRUMAN!"
The mastiff laying down outside the door hears his name being called. He lazily gets up and stretches as he watches people rush out of the door. He walks up to the door and manages to get into the doorway to see what's going on. (I will bring him in next turn)
Jennlin had watched the rival group stride through the tavern but waited to see what their business was..****y to find out it was rather dirty. Offing people like that was such a poor way to run a business if she had anything to say about it. Seeing her coworkers though begin to engage with them she got up quickly and hopped closer (20-25 ft or so, just enough to get a line on the half orc) and pulled out her crossbow and taking a shot at them.

Tully yells out to the group, “This fine fellows are our competition and we have been asked to remove them on sight.” Then his emerald eyes spark green as floating green ethereal fairies grab at the cloths of the Dwarf(hex-blades curse) and shooting out of the finger tip of Tully’s ring finger is a Eldridge blast.
[rolled a 15 for the attack and got a 10 on damage plus my two from my hex curse. For a total of 12 damage.]
Tully will also use the shield spell as a reaction. if an attack on him is between 14 and 19.
