The pure force bolts fly from Rash's fingers like angels of vengeance and evade with paltry ease the handle of the Maul that Dench raised to block, in a last desperate attempt. A dart sticks in the colossus' chest. Another under the shoulder. A last in the middle of the forehead. Those eyes full of hatred seem to want to burn for a few more seconds, just long enough for yet another assault... but no, Rash was right, it's the end, the darkness descends on that eyes forever. The gigantic enemy hits the ground with a loud thud.
At the very same instant, Rash is joined by Anita, who has only now started breathing again after the almost fatal blow that Dench had inflicted, and who, in tears, hugs him, being careful not to touch the ugly bruises: "Oh, Rash... You stubborn guy hero... You made it! Who knows how long it will take to get back healthy..."
"Maybe less than you think" Zentromya's consoling telepathic voice rings out - and the next moment the half-orc wizard no longer feels any pain: he is completely healthy again.
"Stupid incompetent brute..." Tork moans in the meantime "To fail like this, when he was about to succeed..."
End of Rash's Duel
[[ OOC: OK! Free role-play for all, plus Spira can start her Duel whenever she likes ]]
As Roxana approached with the others, she heard the call for duels. While she did have confidence in her companions, it felt like quite the risk to take. She was especially concerned with Tork. 'It almost seems like he's the one manipulating Dench. And how did he make friends with Balfby so quickly?' she thought. It all seemed odd to her. She keeps a close eye on him as the first duel plays out. (Insight: 11)
With the final outcome of Rash's fight, she is relieved to see the wizard prevail. She lets out her breath, not realizing that she had been holding it in anticipation of what was happening once it seemed Rash was in trouble. "Way to go Rash!" she shouts out.
"We didn't believe it was possible to beat Dench in single combat..." admits a barbarian, still amazed, approaching the half-orc wizard and bowing his head as a sign of respect "You and your friends are truly formidable heroes. We will respect the agreement - we would have done it anyway out of honor, but after what we have seen we will also do it out of common sense anyway".
[[ OOC: OK, moving forward with the story. We play Spira's Duel as soon as Spira comes back and posts her opening Turn. @Spira: You can do this at any time.
In fact, even if Spira had the maximum amount of bad luck possible and were to lose, the Duel agreements stipulate that her body be returned to the party... so Zentromya resurrects her.
And the faithful of Gruumsh, with or without Tork, are still forced to abandon the Bloodskull Tribe. So the rest of the story should not be too much affected by the outcome of the Holy Duel. Not as far as the immediate future is concerned, at least. ]]
Once the party reunites with Jaque, Ugnash and Yevelda, they discover that the family's mission was also a success... the small group of Uthgard Barbarians who were supposed to be victims of Dench's incursion, although initially doubtful, were soon convinced by the talk of the retired bard, so much so that the Uthgard, as they hurriedly set off again to change their campsite, had words of thanks and gratitude for the Bloodskulls. Perhaps, in the end, instead of seeds of war, seeds of peace and possible mutual respect were planted...
Upon hearing of Dench's final passing, Rash's family isn't too sad. "It's always been a 4sshole..." comments Ugnash. "Perhaps because he was not born as the fruit of love... but of war - and of the violence so often connected to it" concedes Jaque. "But by since he tried to drag everyone into a senseless bloodbath, it cannot be said that he didn't seek his end". "And so," Yevelda gives Rash a playful (if perhaps a little too strong) slap on the back of the head "you had to finish the job that I left half done! I owe you one, bro!"
The next morning the tribe is informed of the averted danger. Dench's followers - who did not return after the fateful night, by the way - are banished, while the party is praised and publicly rewarded. [[ OOC: Each party member receives gifts worth 40 gp ]] The party is also proclaimed friends of the Bloodskull Tribe. Even Kunnari's 'slavery' couldn't have started better, considering that everyone shows gratitude to him too, for not having succumbed to Dench's pressure but rather having warned the party. His probably won't be a harsh slavery.
The Party can then return to Longsaddle, conveniently teleported from Zentromya. She needs three days in total, because she can only use this power once a day and, considering the amount of animals you have, she cannot teleport them all together, but has to divide you into two groups (Spira is obviously in the first group, so that she can reunite with Darvin, who should now be at Longsaddle waiting for her!) So, on the first day Zentromya teleports the first group, the next day Zentromya teleports back to the tribe, the day after again she teleports the second group.
So, all that remains is to attend the big event that will take place within a few days: the wedding of Martha and Dobbian!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Spira watches the duel of Rash and Dench with a composed expression, and then turns to faceTork. But in her mind she is troubled by similar concerns to those that were troubling Roxana. Was that really Balfby that had come out of the trees towards the half orc priest; or was it some other yeth hound? And in either case, why was he not preparing to attack one or other of the dueling priests, and what did the strange disapproving look he'd cast her mean?
None of this, of course, is allowed to show on her face as she readies herself for battle. Instead, she smiles coolly as she casts her first spell. "Your hidebound mind is your weakness, Private of Gruumsh. Like your assumption that Asmodeus is the source of my power still, so many generations after he raped my ancestress." And sure enough, the spiritual weapon that darts from her outflung hand to strike at Tork is not the red mace of Asmodeus, but Angharradh's moonlit spear. And the flash that lances out at him from the butt of the spear as it leaves Spira's hand is pure moonlight too.
It is a good opening Turn, but we must amend something... The Turn you cast a spell as a Bonus Action (as you did for Spiritual Weapon), you can't cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action.
So, you can't cast both Guiding Bolt and Spiritual Weapon in the same Turn. You must either replace Guiding Bolt with a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action, or keep Guiding Bolt, but give up to cast Spiritual Weapon.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(and an extra damage die (d8) for the nat 20 on the spiritual weapon adds 3 force damage)
If Spira has the fortune to fell her opponent in a single blow, she will then show the mercy of Angharradh by healing his wounds with spells ... presuming she hasn't killed him outright. After removing his weapons out of easy reach, and binding his hands to prevent unfettered spellcasting. "Swear by your god to accept defeat in fair battle honorably, and abide by the conditions: that you will not attack the Uthgarts. I won't shame you by asking you to swear more."

Angharradh's moonlit spear flies towards Tork as if driven by the force of the goddess herself's indignation, at the insinuation that her faithful Spira is a follower of Asmodeus! The Gruumsh faithful barely manages to deflect with the handle of his mace the deadly tip that was about to split his heart, but the weapon of pure energy still opens a laceration on the side of his chest! As if that wasn't enough, immediately after a flame-like radiance descends on him, but he is ready to react and, throwing himself forward, avoids its effects.
Tork continues his movement and approaches Spira, reaching melee distance, but notices out of the corner of his eye that the Holy Spear is chasing him to continue fighting him... he then calls out to his orc god, pointing to the deadly weapon... and the Spiritual Weapon disappears.

Spira nods as Tork parries her spear, a strangely sad nod, and sighs. "Fine. We'll try a round with the choppers and bashers. Might knock some sense into your head." Reserving her other spells for the moment, she abruptly whirls the staff she'd been leaning on up and around in a two-handed blow that she hopes will catch the half-orc priest a blow on the side of his head as he closes for melee.

The Gruumsh faithful seems to be quite experienced in battles and, with excellent timing, leaps to the side, turning Spira's attack into a complete miss.
"It seems that my god, with his single orcish eye, allows me to see better than your goddess can with her two delicate little elven eyes!" Tork mocks, emboldened.
A prayer to the one-eyed deity follows, following which the wound visibly heals.

"Or maybe she just wanted to give you one last little cackle in the sun before the end.," Spira replies as she changes her grip slightly as if she was about to try a backhand strike. Tork might not even see her fingers curling and flexing on the wood, or hear her low whispering murmur, until too late. Suddenly she releases her guiding (upper) hand to fling a bolt of white-hot moonlight blazing towards the half-orc's chest at close range.
Tork gloats: "Of course! Gruumsh inspired me the winning strategy! You only have a few moments left to live!"
The faithful of the orcish god takes a few steps back, taking care not to lower his guard, then utters guttural syllables, syllables in which he resonates the dark power of the one-eyed god. In response to the invocation, a Bloodspear of pure force materializes in the night... a spear whose tip seems menacingly already stained with dripping blood.
The spear, as if animated by its own will, rushes towards Spira, trying to pierce her...
Rash casts shield, nonchalantly stopping the final blow in its tracks.
"I'm sorry Dench... but this ends here," the wizard says coldly. "May you find happiness in the domain of Gruumsh."
And with that, Rash casts one final spell... magic missile
Three bolts of pure force strike Dench simultaneously, dealing 12 Force damage.

He then disentangles himself from Anita to give Dench's remaining friends his full attention.
