(OOC: Yes, you will still have to wait, for Rash's return... what to do in the meantime, is up to you, of course. The traps idea might be not bad)
"Your hand? Whenever you want!" Gaer smiles, gently taking the girl's hand from Longsaddle in his own "Only for prudence and safety reasons, of course..." he winks "Even though I must say that I'm starting to appreciate this so peculiar strategy to which the still active wards down here are forcing us to follow".
"Anyway, thank you," the tiefling murmurs, his voice low and admiring, as he keeps closer than before—perhaps another safety measure? "but you did do great, not me... I just took care of execution, but the right idea came from your pretty smart head. You're good at this kind of things! I wish I'd met you sooner! Have you been doing it for a long time? Have you also always been a… let's say a 'curious person', inclined to explore in places where you shouldn't - like me?"
"Shall we go on then!!" The white-haired warrior growls to the severely flirtatious tiefling. Perhaps it was because of his own tragedy and mood that he couldn't quite grasp how the persons the team had encountered in this weird place could be so apparently starved for affection. A place and situation like this seemed strange for wooing, not at all what he would have expected from a time-sensetive mission where a life was at stake. He hoped they wouldn't forget why they were here.
Roxana does move along, at a moderate pace, back to the bottom of the stair. She speaks to Gaer as she walks. "A 'curious person' is kind of a curious phrasing. I suppose," she says cautiously. "I mostly worked on the farm with my parents. Umm, I'm a cook at one of the taverns in Longsaddle."
Her voice had lowered a bit at her last comment. Almost as though it were a confession. 'I think that all just makes me boring really. Not curious,' she thinks. 'Should I tell him more? Why is he so interested in me? This is not how my life usually goes. Though I'm usually not off in some mysterious Harpell hidden complex poking around for a way to revive the dead!' She gets a strange smile on her face, grinning at her thoughts.
"I think you can say I am a 'curious person' though. Definately!"
Once back outside the purple mosaic entrance, she gives a glance to the other path before speaking to the others. "I don't have as clear an idea on the rest. But with the two flags perhaps we can poke about. But maybe we should see what Solitude is up to first."
"Why not? it doesn't seem to be harmful anyway" says Aidwyn "It's... just a hunch... " she says and gets ready, leaving her backpack with the others to make the said jump easier.
She then proceed to take the route that Gaer had said to follow the "celestial" path
(OOC: I also assume Aidwyn tries her athletic prowess before you leave the hall)
The athletic girl has a gleam of inspired enthusiasm in her eyes as she leaps with incredible power and agility, like a hunting feline, from Center-east square to South-west square.
Yet, something unexpected happens! While Aidwyn is still jumping, five glowing darts of magical force suddenly originate from the square she is 'flying over' and hurl themselves against her, quickly and precisely, hitting her from all sides.
And before anyone can intervene, everyone notices with horror how other five glowing darts, identical to the previous ones, also originate from the destination square, while the poor adventuress lands there! They also hit the heroine mercilessly.
Aidwyn had cried out in pain, hurt all over, as she received the first volley of glowing darts… as she lands, the second ruthless volley causes her to collapse into a pool of her own blood.
Alive? Dead? Even if she is still alive, she will definitely need help…
"Accursed stubborn..." Gaer swears between her teeth, hurrying to dart along the already tested path, the diagonal one, the one of the dragons "Quspira, follow me and put your feet where I put them! If she's alive, we don't have much time to save her!"
Anyway, as soon as he gets to the other side of the square area with the illusions, Gaer hurries to drag Aidwyn out of the squares and check her condition: "She breathes sitll!" he announces - and immediately tries to plug her wounds.
The bleeding is stopped, at least; the poor heroine is not risking to die at any moment - but her conditions remain critical... Will anyone be able to heal her?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Coughing and spitting blood, Aidwyn turns and puts both hands into the floor as she tries to breath and regain consciousness
"Well that was... that was... rude.. " she manages to say trying to catch her breath back. "Thank you Gaer and thank you Spira" she says as she sits and accepts Gaer's help to stand.
(She takes a second wind for 9 more HP )
"I think that you are right and we better get off here... " she peeks over the low wall... so close and yet so far. "You know, I thought that in the alcove above there was two mosaics so, maybe there were two paths... just let's ger out of here... I.. I think I can walk.. "
To pile injury upon insult, as Aidwyn peeks over the low wall, there is no reward waiting for her.
"Rude indeed!" exclaims Gaer, impressed "You must be more tough than stubborn, girl. If I had been riddled with all those darts, probably you would have had to pick up my pieces scattered on the ground with a spoon" his forehead is beaded with sweat, thinking back to when, shortly before, he volunteered to test Roxana's theory...
Once the party prepares to leave the room, the tiefling invites Aidwyn: "Here, come here, lean on Spira, so you walk better and don't risk falling... You don't mind, sis, do you?" then he, satisfied, goes to take Roxana's hand to share the Yellow Flag.
(OOC: And then I would say that the action can proceed as already posted)
Meanwhile, returning to the room with the spiral staircase and the mosaics, Gaer replies to Roxana: "Two 'curious persons' so we are..." he smiles "You'll stay with me, when we're done here, right? Coming around with me... (if you want we can also keep Spira with us, who as you have seen can always come in handy)... you could satisfy your curiosity much more easily and extensively than staying in Longsaddle! We could see a lot of things, visit a lot of places... Traveling broadens the mind, they say, you know? Just think about it!"
Then Roxana has time to propose to go and see what Solitude is doing, when you enter the mosaic room and Elky appears yet another time to receive you: "Hello esteemed visitors. I'm Elky and I'm here to serve you. Would you like something to drink or eat, by any chance? I could have you brought some tea, water, wine, eggs and bacon, a few bites of game, horse meat... Or would you prefer to decline the offer?"
Roxana had been stunned by Aidwyn's sudden leap and rapid collapse from those glowing darts. "Oh no! Is she okay? Are you sure? Let's get her back. We should find a comfortable place for her. I'll see if we can get her bandaged up."
After fretting, she did proceed back out alongside Gaer. As he mentioned staying with him and leaving Longsaddle there was a pause. "Leaving Longsaddle?" she says, as though surprised. "I probably need to get back to work at the Gilded Horseshoe," she mutters under her breath. Or do I? Would I even have a job when I'm back? They seem to want me gone anyhow.'
After the check on Solitude, she makes her way back down. "No thank you. We decline the offer," she says in response to Elky.
Her strength then goes to Aidwyn, who she hopes has already been settled into synergy comfortable. She gets out her Healer's Kit and tries to tend to the woman's wounds and get her bandaged properly. (Healer Feat: 9 hp healed) "Are you feeling better? I'm so sorry, they all seemed to be celestials. That should have met the criteria to be constant in the choices. Especially after that spectacular leap you made."
As Roxana tries to tend to Aidwyn's wounds, Gaer approaches Obadiah, remembering how the cursed warrior had just hurried him: "You seem to care a lot about this business of bringing Dobbian back to us, mate..." and looks him in the eyes, studying his reaction "And that's great, mind me, I'm glad... But I wonder, do you have any particular reason to care so much about it? Did you already know Dobbian too? Was he your friend?" then, to play down, he concludes "Or maybe he owes you money?"
(My bad, poted edited thus the red flag on it even if the dice didn't change)
"I am feeling much better now" Aidwyn replies to Roxana "Thank you very much" she says helping her friend to untie the straps of her armor to better see and tend her wounds " It should be, right?" she says smiling to her "But who knows what those wizards consider a constant criteria anyway... today or when this ruins where used... well lesson learned, do not play with wizardy things... it hurts.." it seem that the event hasn't changed her humor.
"I'm not your mate Gaer."The white-haired warrior growls. "Make no mistake, I appreciate the risk you took, even if it was only to impress a girl, but your mind seems set on wooing while our mission here is to find a way to bring back Dobbian from the dead. I didn't know him but I have a sense of duty to focus on the task at hand. It is not about money for me, it is about finding a way to bring the dead back to life." He finishes, his dark eyes staring back into eyes of the frivolous tiefling.
