"Ilwythe!" Clas says as he passes by, his voice brimming with laughter and unwavering optimism. "Why don't you join me in the search for the best of all things, ale! Hahahaha!"
Clas continues on to the throne room, adding, "The others are by the door that holds the prisoners."

Never underestimate the power of a finely crafted barrel, my friend! It is both a vessel of strength and a symbol of resilience.
Tarysaa, after a shocking last farewell to the fallen 'king', reaches the throne room, with the intention of examining it and drawing sketches.
Clas joins and the two, driven by the lure of knowledge (the former) and the loot (the latter) enter the large room.
Ardana gathers for a moment in prayer over the fallen half-orc (OOC: I wonder what she's thinking, if you want to tell us... Why is she praying over the leader's body... while she didn't - or at least isn't doing - it on the body of the other thugs? Is it the noble heritage, which pushes her, perhaps even unconsciously, to honor leaders more than servants? Just my curiosity...).
Ilwhyte approaches and makes sure of everyone's condition.
Shortly after, however, the party decides to deal first of all with freeing the prisoners... and Daisy, with the newly found keys, leads the way.
The only one who remains in the throne room to search is Clas (OOC: so I don't consider Tarysaa's roll for now... it would have taken longer than that to search the room thoroughly), who easily finds a chest from the interesting look... but it's locked! And the only keys that have been found, have been given to Daisy to free the prisoners! What to do? Trying to break the chest with brute force? Or wait to be able to get the keys from the druid dwarf?
Meanwhile, with these keys, Daisy opens...
Inside, there are two prisoners, in pitiful conditions: tied at the wrists and ankles with a short piece of hemp rope, dressed only in rags, which barely cover their bodies, covered in bruises and grazes, clearly undernourished... They look like they have been beaten and starved.
A halfling male whose roundness typical of the race are now barely detectable, a boy with brown curly hair and brown eyes, welcomes you: "Oh, thank you! Thank you! Thank goodness you came to save us! You have no idea what we've been through!"
A petite female tiefling, with shocking pink skin, tall horns like a gazelle's, a stump instead of what should have been a tail, solid gold eyes, with no visible sclera or pupil, and long dark blue hair first looks at you with distrust, then the halfling with pity, saying: "Thank goodness really... If we had had to free ourselves thanks to your ability to take initiative..."
Nim steps into the room exited to see another of his kind. He brandished his rapier and starts cutting the rope binding them.
”My you must be famished! I don’t suppose they’ve been feeding you the required 7 times a day in here?”
He reaches into his pack and splits his ration between the two prisoners. And flashes them a warm friendly smile, his golden tooth shining in the torchlight.
”So what on earth happened here? As far as we’re aware, it’s goblins that lived in this place. At least until those nasty Zhentarim buggers overthrew them. Were you their captives or were you once part of their gang? what do they have against the Harpells? Is there a history between them? And for the love of all that’s holy what ever was that flying serpent on the king’s arm?!”

Tarysaa, seeing the sorry state of the two freed prisoners, slips back to the dorm room to search for 4 blankets. Taking each in turn, she uses PRESTIDIGITATION to clean the blankets before returning to the group.
Again, using the same spell, she touches each prisoner to at least clean their rags before handing them two blankets each. "Temporary clothing until we can find better."
Digging into her backpack, she removes a ration for each -- which they can nibble on as they travel back with us.
Stepping back, she waits to hear the responses to Nim's rapid fire questioning.
"Ilwythe! That's a great idea," Clas says, his voice a hardy chuckle. "We'll just break it open, I'll help," he continues, smiling. "And if that fails, we'll just carry it back to the others. They'll want to see what's inside as well! Hahahaha!"

Never underestimate the power of a finely crafted barrel, my friend! It is both a vessel of strength and a symbol of resilience.
(OOC: Haven't had a lot of time to think through more complicated replies. Ardana DID say a prayer over the one thug that she killed in the previous battle, so its not just the leader. She dislikes the need to kill, she thinks everyone is redeemable, so she is saying a prayer for the souls of those she has killed).
Ardana helps the prisoners up and helps them walk into the dining room, which seems to be the only room with chairs. While she does this, she uses lay on hands (1 pt each) to heal their scrapes and bruises, then waits for them to answer the questions Nim has asked.
The prisoners are clearly grateful for the sudden shower of attention they receive: who feeds them, who cleans them, who gives them improvised clothing, who heals them, who makes them sit comfortably...
"Thank you, gentlemen, thank you!" the halfling keeps repeating, with conviction "Thank goodness we were saved by noble and generous heroes like you! It's a real pleasure to meet you!" and he starts shaking everyone's hand "Milo, Milo Thorngage! It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance!"
The tiefling limits herself to nods of thanks and seems unable to drive away a shadow of suspicion from the depths of her solid gold eyes; however in the end she forces herself to say: "Thanks from me too; if you mean to let a 'devilspwawn' like me free to come back into the world unhindered, that is..." her lips twist in a sarcastic grimace "Oh," she looks finally carefully at Ardana "I see that I'm not the only devilspawn here... Nor" she hints at the stump of her tail "the only one pious people have tried to 'purify'... it went even worse for you, they mutilated even more than they did to me. My name... my name is Solitude".
(OOC: All those who are taking care of the prisoners, please, roll a Persuasion check - In the meantime, Ilwhyte can roll a STR check with advantage to deal with the chest in the throne room)
Meanwhile, Milo starts replying to Nim: "I don't know anything about goblins... thank goodness! Already these accursed Zhentarim were plague enough! They captured me when I found this place by chance, around mid-Uktar... I had just entered the marble arch, when a voice ordered me to stop, to drop my weapons, that I had entered private property... I wasn't looking for trouble..."
"...And least of all you'd be able to give any" comments Solitude between her teeth.
The halfling continues: “…So I did as they told me. for the journey he had in mind... He only took the dwarf, the last prisoner they had captured... Poor fellow, who knows where they're taking him".
"Solitude was instead captured in the forest," explains Milo, since the tiefling does not starts telling her tale "maybe two tents after my surrender. She instead resisted..."
"...And this is the result!" snaps Solitude, showing her left leg. Her leg has suffered some kind of trauma, but not been treated properly (maybe in truth it has not been treated at all) and the tiefling has a limp, she can't put weight on it well.
(OOC: If anyone wants to understand what happened to the leg or how to heal it, roll a Medicine check)
“Oh my that looks like a rather nasty injury there my horned friend. Alas I am no medic, perhaps one of my esteemed companions could provide some first aid. Milo what could you tell us about that marble archway? Sounds like it could be of some significance.”
(OOC: insight check to see if they answer truthfully 5…)
"The marble archway?" the halfling's eyes widen in surprise "What could I know about it? I just entered out of curiosity... and promptly got caught! I remember I tought it must have been imposing, a long time ago... but I don't know anything about it".
Tarysaa frowns at what she sees of the injuries to the tiefling. Sadly, she knows little about medicine and healing other than how to bind minor scraps or cuts. "If I can find a water barrel or, bring in a couple pails of snow, I can heat some water to at least wash the wounds?," she mutters as she hands over the blankets. "Plus we can use one of those busted up bed frames to keep this kitchen fire burning for warmth."
“Ah that is a shame to hear, this may sound a tad preposterous…”
Nim stops and eyes his companions for approval, a little unsure on wether he should share these details. But he takes a breath and carries on.
“But I don’t suppose you know anything about what this cave holds or the Zhentarim possessed? We came here seeking something that holds the means to give life, or perhaps restore it. Perhaps you heard those nasty buggers that captured you talking about such a thing?”

Tarysaa tries to give medical advice based on common sense, but Solitude frowns and comments: "My leg has been in this condition for a month or more now... it's not recent damage... I got a crossbow bolt there as I was taken. Applying cold now, it won't help. Believe me, if it could have helped, I have already suffered quite a bit from the cold, in these months, in that bare room!"
Nim meanwhile decides to mention to Milo the reason that brought the party there... and the halfling widens his eyes in surprise even more than before: "Means to give life... or perhaps restore it? It would seem like something legendary, rather than real... Are you... sure? Well, sorry, of course you are, or you wouldn't have bothered to come here and risk your life against Mhurren Flick and his Zhentarim gang".
"Anyway," Milo sighs "no, I don't know anything about it... and probably Solitude doesn't either. The only section of this place we really 'explored' was that empty room the Zhentarim used as a cell! Never heard any of our captors speak of such a thing either. I'm sorry" the halfling lowers his brown eyes "to keep disappointing you..."
Ilwythe, meanwhile, in the throne room, tries to force the chest ... he almost seems to feel the lock give ... but instead, no, it resists. Using brute force seems to really require a lot of force.
"But... poor thing, what happened to him!?" Finally, Milo realizes Barakor's presence and approaches him, thoughtful but cautious, without sudden movements, stopping when the wolf growls and letting him sniff patiently, until the beast allows him the touch; at that point, the halfling checks some scars and... "But these are lashes! And how many... Plus, this wolf is terribly malnourished!" he gives a scolding look at Daisy, probably assuming she's the owner "I don't know what this poor animal has done... and maybe I should mind my own business... but let me tell you it's not fair to treat him like this... and it's not even safe! The beast, frightened by harassment and made vicious by mistreatment, could have sudden outbursts of violence that are difficult to predict or contain. Do you... do you want to entrust it to me? I'm leaving now anyway, nothing keeps me here anymore..." the halfling has already begun to stroke the beast, slowly and lovingly - and for now the wolf seems to let him "I'd be happy to take care of such a travel companion".
With a hearty laugh, Clas observed as Ilwythe warmed up with stretches. "Hahahaha! It's just a chest, Ilwythe, but sensible, I suppose," he remarked. Here, you help me.

Clas seems on the verge of being able to make the lock give way... Even more than Ilwythe... but in the end tiredness gets the better of him and the mighty warrior has to suspend his efforts for a while to catch his breath. But it must have been really close...
However, enough time has surely passed for the rest of the party to have made extensive use of the found keys, so maybe now they wouldn't refuse to give them to their fellow adventurers... If, on the other hand, it has become a personal matter between the two adventurers and the lock, obviously, after having caught their breath for a bit, further attempts to force are possible.
“Oh well I would be shocked if Bara wished to part with our Daisy! Fret not my round chum, these heartless fiends are the ones that mistreated our Canine pal. Daisy is the one that rescued and has taken care of him.”
Nim pats Daisy thoughtfully on her shoulder. He then thinks to himself…
’Hmm… perhaps we should have kept some of those Zhentarim alive to interrogate them about what we need to save our fair lady’s late husband. Oh! Hopefully they have some sort of note or diary somewhere! Although we still haven’t fully explored this place… I wonder what’s behind that barricaded hall?’
”Well friends! I have a game plan! Let’s reunite with Clas and Illwythe and discuss what’s next unless anyone else objects. And as for you poor devils you may either wait here until we confirm the place is free of villainous scum, follow us to remain safe or leave at your own leisure.”
