Tarysaa glimpses the monstruosity for a moment and she thinks it is the most fearsome creature she has ever seen! But promptly her rational mind takes over: no, most fearsome? Not in the least. The Pit Fiend, illusory as it was, was thousands times worse!
But the hope turns out to be in vain. The distance is too great and the throw loses precision - the handaxe gets lost in the primordial chaos of the immense hall.
Now Ardana, Tarysaa, Clas and Daisy are up! Any order! (Daisy is paralyzed during her turn, but at the end of her turn she can try a new Saving Throw to end the effect - so she can do the roll now; if she saves, she will be able at least to act next turn. And all others just remember that Xomox went up about 20'! So no way to hit him in melee).
Tarysaa takes in her environment while watching Ilwythe throw a handaxe at Xomox. Taking a calming breathe and adjusting her stance, she pulls back on her short bow and lets loose an arrow (center mass).
Watching the arrow speed upward, Tarysaa lets out a small yell of success as the arrow digs into the body of Xomox. Smiling, she steps forward diagonally to the spot Ardana was at before as she stows her bow. (Directly N of the open doors / mid room.)
Tarysaa's arrow flies with a precision that has little to envy of the previous magic missiles and in turn hits the rounded floating body.
"Damn you!" growls the guardian "Didn't Xomox scare you with magic!? If they aren't scared of you, kill them, Xomox! Then they'll fear you indeed! Kill, Xomox! Kill!"
He, however, seems increasingly weakened by the wounds he is accumulating; none of these are serious, but all of them exact their annoying and continuous toll of blood... and it is clear that Xomox is weakening.
In the meantime, Daisy engages in a ferocious internal struggle: her innate vitality against the vile magic that wants to keep her fixed and immobile like a corpse or a statue... For now, to be honest, it is the vile magic that is winning - but the battle is not over yet.
Clas, like Ilwythe, tries to contribute, albeit from a distance, but, like Ilwythe, he must note the difficulty of landing a throw from that distance. He then runs, worried, to check on Ardana's condition... but he hears a voice in his mind as he passes by the Big She Wolf who is still writhing on the ground laughing:
"I choose you as my master, mighty hunter - soon the whole world will learn to fear us! Could you, however, stop this weird magical effect on me? It is terribly embarrassing..."
Ardana takes out another javelin and throws it at Xomox.
(OOC: 17 to hit, 4 damage)
Ardana will inch closer to within an arms reach of the vial which would release the fiend, trying to disguise her intent from Xomox by looking for solid ground/some small cover on the floor.
Ardana manages to casually approach the small silver stand which supports a sort of tiny saucer (also made of silver) with a human-fist-sized glass or crystal bead with a clear liquid inside it.
Furthermore, the tip of her javelin manages to penetrate the scales of the guardian's round body this time. Once again, a superficial wound, but one that increasingly contributes to weakening him.
Round 3
Barakor, meanwhile, growls at Xomox, but he absolutely cannot reach him...
Now Nim is up! (Nim is currently concentrating on the Tasha's Laughter spell he cast earlier - but of course he can stop concentrating whenever he wants, considering that for some mysterious reason the magic seems to have hit Big She Wolf instead of Xomox. No action is required to stop to concentrate a spell)-
Nim feels as if something isn't right, the warm humming vibrations he usually feels when casting his melodic magic through his art feels wrong. Frustrated he pulls out his only dagger and takes careful aim for the large, black pupil in the center of Xomox's mass and deftly throws it with all his strength towards his mark.

(OOC: Attack roll 16 Damage 5.)
(OOC: Sorry, Xomox is beyond the 20' range, so the dagger attack needs to be done with Disadvantage - just do another plain attack roll and we consider the lowest of the 2. Another question: do you keep your concentration on Tasha's Laughter? Or do you let the spell expire?)
(OOC: Well, I'll do the 2nd roll, to keep things moving)
2nd roll of Nim, because there was Disadvantage; we keep the lowest of the previous (16) or this one: 23
(OOC: Great! We definitely keep Nim's roll)
Round 3
The dagger launched by the halfling travels a long arc, but Xomox, slowed down by the numerous wounds already suffered, is unable to avoid the blow: the blade sticks right where the bard had aimed, in the central eye.
The many-eyed monster lets out a long cry of pain and anguish, adding: "Xomox is no longer Xomox! What Spectator Xomox can he be, with no main eye left? Xomox is now Not-Xomox... Not-Xomox closes its eyes..."
The delirious monologue is extinguished, while at the same time the eyes close and the spherical body falls from a height of 20', shattering into the omnipresent chaos.
(OOC: Gratz! Combat over! You are victorious! Sooner or later - in a few rounds, we can assume - no need to roll continuously - Daisy will overcome her paralysis and Big She Wolf will overcome the effect of Tasha's Laughter)
Clas runs to Ardana and grabs her by the shoulder of the hand reaching for the crystal sphere. And spins her around. Hahahaha! Wasn’t that fun! Clas looks her in the eyes, his grip on Ale tightens.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Never underestimate the power of a finely crafted barrel, my friend! It is both a vessel of strength and a symbol of resilience.
"Well thrown, Nim. Thanks for taking Xomox down." Tarysaa looks around at the party recovering from this latest attack. It was easy enough to see that they were all showing signs of the damage done since entering this underground maze of hallways, rooms, and traps. "We really need to secure a spot to rest and heal up."
Nim brushes himself off, walked over to the fallen monster and plucks his dagger from the gelatinous eyeball. He turns to his companions and says with a smile.
”Um, a little prestidigitation might be nice.”
He then casts cure wounds on himself (OOC: 15 HP restored.) and continues with…
”Ahh that feels a bit better. Although I must say I myself could really do with a proper sleep. I can’t handle much more of this place.”
The fiend continues speaking in our heroine's mind: "Well done, you have eliminated the guardian! Free me now! Haven't you heard? The elf and the halfling say that you all need to rest... If you free me, I can take care of the guard, since I don't need sleep. You can believe me, if you I say no one will disturb you! And then I can try to help you with the other thing you asked me. But now free me, quickly! That... that guy next to you seems to want to stop you..."

Round 2
Daisy feels all of a sudden her body as heavy as lead! She can't even lift a finger... she is paralyzed!

Ilwythe, seeing that the monster has moved high, well out of reach, first launches a barbaric curse, then a handaxe in the hope of hitting it.
