‘Run! I’ve got to get out of here!,’ he thinks, his panic ratcheting stronger and stronger. His companions’ voices seem to echo weakly from a distance as a terrible foreboding causes the blood to roar in his ears. Staring into the mist until his eyes ache trying to make out detail, the teenager is ready to bolt at the first sign of the Shadow (dodge).
Quinn roots his feet into the earth feeling the presence of unnatural things upon the soil.....forty feet away...to the west...something dark and dead......and a little further away....a trace of a second presence not yet fully formed....

Normont listens to Quinn feed back on the creatures location, and his face sets hard. "Right, this has gone on long enough", he says and flicks a switch on the grip of his pistol. He fires, but it is not a bullet that explodes out of the barrel, rather a pellet which pops as it hits the floor in the region Quinn stated. Out of the pellet comes a mist that seems to cause everything in the area to glow.
"If anything starts to glow that looks unfriendly, zap it!", he calls to Amber in Gnomish, hoping she is close.
Action: Cast Faerie Fire - centred between the two entities Quinn mentioned, maybe 45-50 ft away (covers 20ft cube so should cover both things and anything we haven't seen). A long sinuous form sliding across the ground beneath the mist was suddenly limned in violet.....it was far closer than expected...moving rapidly towards Lokilia.
It screamed in annoyance as it was revealed.

Shaking with fear, Dev’s eyes strain, uselessly, to pull detail from the gray mist, the terror filling him utterly until he has curled his arms around himself protectively, his expression that of a damned soul bound for eternity in the most frozen of the hells. But the sight of the spirit is too much. Immediately after Normont’s pellet coats it in violet light, so close that it is mere moments away from sapping the rest of his strength, a wicked smile curls the teenager's lip.
“We’ll see who’s left standing…,” his eerie voice echoes through the ruins as a taut rhythm begins, at first hardly more than a whisper, to emanate from him.
Amber flies in at Normont's command and unleashes her force strike on the creature, before Normont himself springs into action. He steps across to put his shield between the creature and Lokilia whilst bring his pistol to bear on the creature.
"Stay back, better still, eat lead", he says uncharacteristically. He is terrified for Magnus now.
He pulls the trigger and the loud boom rings out.
"Again, Amber. And protect Dev", he says to Amber in Gnomish.
Amber then lands on Dev's shoulder and once again spews forth energy from her maw.

As much as she can, given that the rope still connects her with the others, she moves away and tries to get behind Normont.

The stalking shade simply laughs as Lokilias spell passes through it without effect then cocks its head as Quinn speaks.
