The blight peals some of the flesh and scales from the demon, howling in frustration as it is tasting defeat. It lashes out at Tyek Attack: 16/ damage 26/ attack 24/damage 20
[[OOC: @Aaggie - since Tyek was using Reckless Attack, would the disadvantage / advantage cancel out? If so, it looks like the second attack would hit with an attack roll of 27.]]
Khessa, having finished already all enemies except the demon, rushes to Tyekanik's aid, first attempting two lunges at the fiend's massive thighs before suddenly raising the necrotic-energy-infused tip of the Death Lance in a final thrust to the throat, with which she attempts to impale its head.
"Say goodbye to the Nefarious Duo for me, will you?" the blonde arcane warrior taunts the opponent from the lower planes.

Round 2: Tyek
If the demon still stands after Khessa's onslaught, Tyek attempts to finish it off. If Khessa or he manages to kill the demon, Tyek grabs it and hurls the demon's body against the north wall. "Good riddance," he growls before gesturing up the now clear stairs.
Action: Two Reckless Attacks against the Red Abishai with Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver (thunder) Attack 1: 35, Damage: 23 (magical thunder) + 14 (force) = 37 (total) Attack 2: 32, Damage: 30 (magical thunder) + 10 (force) = 40 (total) Bonus Action: if either of the attacks was a critical hit and the demon is still alive, make one extra attack agains the Red Abishai. GWM extra attack: 35, Damage: 28 (magical thunder) + 19 (force) = 47 (total) Otherwise, if Khessa or Tyek already killed the demo, then he uses Mighty Impel to hurl the demon's body against the north wall and out of the way of the stairs. (Move target (within 10ft reach) to an unoccupied space Tyek can see within 30-ft.) Free Action: Talking
I'm guessing that the demon is dead now. If so, now that the opponents have been slain, Vrox will use this round to spring nimbly from the stairs in the east over to the foot of the stairs where the demon was. He says, "You all bring a holy wrath against unholy foes. But why not come at us all at once? Do you think that the Nefarious Duo simply seeks to slow us down so that the cultists can complete whatever dark ritual they seek to perform here?" Then he looks up the stairs that the demon seemed to guard and continues (dash) up those stairs, moving stealthily and listening / watching for danger.
Dim light from the courtyard falls into this great hall through the iron latticework of a large window in the west wall. This immense room is a place of chilly, brooding darkness. Empty iron sconces dot the walls. Directly across from the window stand a set of double doors in the east wall. Farther south, a single door also leads from the east wall. At the far southern end of the hall, a large wooden throne stands atop a marble dais. The high-backed throne faces south, away from most of the room.
"A throne?" Khessa mused aloud "Maybe this was the throne room of the castle. Knowing the megalomania of the Nefarious Duo, I am surprised that we do not see it occupied by them... but perhaps" she jokes "it was too small for both of them to sit on and they could not agree on who was the most worthy!"
The blonde adventuress nevertheless approaches the throne... wondering if it too has been 'contaminated' in some way. She begins an esoteric ritual that will grant her the power to perceive emanations of magic. Once the ritual is over, she focuses on the throne and the marble dais, trying to detect the eventual faint aura of the magic... and to determine its school of magic, if any aura is to be seen.
Tyekanik, still raging, enters cautiously, suspicious of a trap in any area where there are no demons or undead to squash. He pads quietly to the double door to the east, ready to cut down anything that comes through it.

Vrox says, "The demon on the stairs was surely not just guarding the way to an empty room." He does not enter the hall, preferring to skulk at the top of the stairs until the others demonstrate that there's no hidden danger in the room. As Khessa approaches the throne, he draws an arrow, ready to fire at anything that attacks her.

You detect a faint presence, like the dark energy was there, but left. It only left a residue on the throne and the room. You also sense anguish, like good people cried out in fear, and left their essence behind.

"I can smell the residual magical aura of the Nefarious Duo..." Khessa notes, for the benefit of all "But they fled. They are no longer in this room. Let's continue our cleaning work".
"Shall we try this door first?" the blonde arcane warrior points to the southernmost one, the single door "Perhaps it leads to some less important room, so we'll be quicker to explore this branch... and then we can go back and explore the other one".

Ten minutes having passed while Khessa performed her ritual, Vrox would have moved into the room to look around. Once Khessa confirms that the throne itself doesn't seem to be enchanted, Vrox would check the throne and the dais it's on, looking for any hidden compartments or anything hidden under the cushion (if it has one). He checks whether the throne moves or tilts and whether the dais itself seems solid.

Khessa's rolls:
Death Lance Attack 1: 38 Damage: 18 (magical piercing) + 14 (necrotic) = 32
Death Lance Attack 2: 32 Damage: 21 (magical piercing) + 16 (necrotic) = 37
Death Lance Attack 3: 35 Damage: 22 (magical piercing) + 13 (necrotic) = 35

Stealth 31 (advantage from Shadowfell Brand Tattoo)
Perception 25
Lol! I wanted to check if you were paying attention 😉
The demon is dead, there are no other threats
Aya says "Let us continue on."
D&D since 1984
Clarac agrees with Aya and begins to ascend the next staircase. She would stop and wait if someone wants to sneak ahead.

Stealth 27, advantage to move quietly from Boots of Elvenkind
Vrox says, "The demon on the stairs was surely not just guarding the way to an empty room." Hiding at the head of the stairs: Stealth 37, advantage from Shadowfell Brand Tattoo
You detect a faint presence, like the dark energy was there, but left. It only left a residue on the throne and the room. You also sense anguish, like good people cried out in fear, and left their essence behind.
You hear nothing at the double doors.
"I can smell the residual magical aura of the Nefarious Duo..." Khessa notes, for the benefit of all "But they fled. They are no longer in this room. Let's continue our cleaning work".

Investigation 23
Once Vrox is done with that, he moves to the single door to the east and listens for any hint of what may be beyond.
Perception 14
Finally, Vrox moves back on the far side of the throne, hides, and readies his bow in case there is a foe on the other side of the door.
Stealth 29, advantage from Shadowfell Brand Tattoo
[[OOC: Oh, and was there anything farther to the south? The throne seemed to be facing...what? A window? A balcony? A blank wall?]]
