Clarac Round 2:
Clarac nods to Tyekanik in acknowledgement of his destroying the demon, then turns to the cultists and swings her sword at them.

Khessa is overcome with excitement, as the swirling energies are starting to dissipate!
"Come on! Just one last effort!" the blonde arcane warrior urges her companions, making good use of the magic that still permeates her and grants her incredible speed and the necrotic power of vengeance for the fallen!
The tall adventuress tries to make short work of the remaining converts, repeatedly piercing them with the terrible Death Lance, while Alfred assists her from behind, helping her defend herself.

Round 3: Tyekanik
Tyek throws himself into melee with the remaining demon, seeking to cut it down like he did with the last one.
Movement: If all of the enemies are dead at the end of his turn, Tyek moves to the north of the swirling energies of the portal, standing between it and the stairs. He wants to ensure that if anything emerges from the portal, it would have to go through him to get to the party members who are still on the stairs. Action: Two Reckless Attacks with Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver (thunder) Attack 1 vs. demon: 31, Damage: 31 (magical thunder) + 15 (force) = 46 (total) Attack 2 vs. demon: 25, Damage: 22 (magical thunder) + 11 (force) = 33 (total)
Any attacks against Tyek are made with advantage until his next turn.
Vrox had used his Feywild magic to become invisible. At the start of this round, he reappears, now standing on the stairs so that he has an easier / elevated shot at any of the cultists. If any of them are still alive after Khessa's onslaught and Lord Akkron's necromancy, then he'll fire his bow at them. Otherwise, he targets the demon.
Vrox asks the others, particularly Aya and Lord Akkron, "What do we do if one of the Nefarious Duo steps through that portal?" From what he has heard, he believes that the party has already faced one of these gods of Chaos before.
Movement: If no opponents remain standing at the end of his turn, Vrox will move to the top of the stairs to keep watch for any other demons or cultists. (He doesn't want the party to get trapped in a room with no other exits.) Action: Two attacks against whichever opponent is still standing with Dragon's Wrath Longbow (150/600) Attack 1: 36 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. (magical piercing) + Unable to parse dice roll. As Sparhawk finishes the last of the converts, new colors are seen in the center of the room, silver, copper and bronze. They are making a zig-zag pattern across the red and purple line, like a stitch across a wound. It also appears like a wound, the vertical slit growing smaller until it disappears. You more feel than hear a far off "Noooooo!" and it felt like a light tremor coursed through the ground.
Now the room is silent as a grave, no threats and no activity.
Khessa sighs and pats everyone on the shoulder: "That was close! I had no idea the Nefarious Duo's arrival was so imminent! They are determined and resourceful... for a pair of divine losers!"
"Shall we finish exploring the chest and clearing the Castle now?" the blonde arcane warrior suggests "Better make sure there are no threats left out there, so it can be populated again".
Clarac's outer light dims and fades (though her inner light shines bright as ever) as she watches the strange portal close up. She speaks, "You are right, Khessa. There is still work to be done. We should not leave the castle until we are sure it is safe. Once it is rid of demons, it can serve as a base for these people—the survivors—to reclaim the entire duchy."
Clarac searches the area for remnants of the summoning ritual and attempts to erase any she finds.

The summoning circle has been disrupted, burned and no longer legible, as if a great eraser removed the arcane symbols. Only ash remain showing the circle
Lord Akkron pauses as the last of the cultists falls. He gives Vrox a look.
"If one of the Nefarious Duo ever steps out of a portal in front of us... hit them with everything you've got and pray to whatever deity you think will listen to you," he chuckles. "That's my plan, at least... if I knew how to kill a god there is one whom I would have put in the ground several centuries ago."
He sighs... perhaps dealing with the Nefarious Duo will teach him some secret that he can use against the Demon Queen of Spiders and finally rid the multiverse of her.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
After the fight, I guess most of the party is investigating the southern chamber and the cultists. Vrox is keeping watch at the top of the stairs at the south end of the catacombs. If the party doesn't find anything of interest here, then we'll have to decide where to go next to ensure that the whole castle is clear.
We fought demons in the hallway behind the thrones in the chapel balcony, but after that fight, we never went through the doors at the west end of the hall. Instead, we took the one captured blood convert to the dungeon. Then we felt the pulsing energy and raced to the catacombs, following Flute's directions.
We also haven't checked the stairs that we saw at the north end of the catacombs. We should probably do that before we leave the catacombs. No idea whether that's another chamber, like the ones to the east and south, or just an alternate route back upstairs.
Vrox also thinks that the party never made it to the Duke's family's floor and the Duke's "personal area." The page boys said:
The other stairs to the right of the wine cellar does up to the servant's entrance. It is right outside of the servant's quarters. "Its how they get down here and is out of the way from the nobles and guests. There is another set of stairs that goes up on the other side of the servants quarters, that level is for the Duke's family and his personal area is another floor above that one. We don't go up there much, us pages aren't allowed."
