The goblin at F6, frustrated at being ineffective due to the hallway being blocked, drops his scimitar (this has no cost), picks up a fist sized rock (interact with environment) and throws it over the head of the goblin in front, hoping to hit someone.
The other goblin at E5 sees this, and tries the same thing after moving to E7.
Target: 4
Attack: 5 Damage: 1
The first rock glances off Katerielle, leaving a scrape on her flesh. The second rock misses entirely, hitting the wall behind Leek's head.
Erenaeth death save: 14 -> Second successful save.
Erenaeth takes another gasping breath, trying to suck in some air after the fall knocked it out of him.
The goblin in front of Kytrin sees the imbibing of the potion as a sign of victory, and presses his attack.
Attack: 23 Damage: 7
As Kytrin tilts her head back to drink the potion, the goblin lunges and lands a solid slash across her neck. Kitryn clasps hand over the wound and falls backward onto her back.
OOC: Kitryn is down at 0 HP. Someone needs to do a medicine check to stabilize her (no one has any healing left) or Kytrin needs to succeed on death saving throws 3 times, or die if she fails 3 times.
Katerielle kneels next to Kytrin who is bleeding out from a gash in her neck. Katerielle examines Kytrin and decides the correct course of action is to help Kytrin breathe, so she locks lips with her and they both breathe together. And somehow, it works. Kytrin, still holding the gash in her neck, calms down and the bleeding diminishes. Confident Kytrin is not in mortal danger, Katerielle stands up and faces the remaining two goblins.
OOC: Skipping Leek's turn since it doesn't matter much anyway.
The goblin watches its ally's face burn clean off. Looking for encouragement, it briefly looks back to Yeemik, and sees the same burnt crater where his face used to be. Shaken, the goblin throws down its scimitar then holds the shield strapped to its arm and the other empty hand in the air, begging in broken common, "Just cook. Make food good. All want to do. Don't eat Gorox."
The other goblin, seeing its last remaining ally surrender, attempts to flee instead of asking for mercy. It runs to the edge where Ereneath fell, and throws himself over the edge.
Falling (bludgeoning) damage: 8
Acrobatics check vs. DC 20 to try an land on his feet: 19
The goblin attempts to land on its feet running, but a twenty foot fall is just too much for its poor legs, which crumple underneath him, falling unconscious next to Erenaeth.
Leek will move up behind the last remaining goblin and slit its throat. Then he will bleed the goblins. Once that is done, then he will tend to the injured. (I might have some berries left...)
As you all stand down and begin caring for the wounded, you find Erenaeth and Kytrin are alive and stable, but unconscious. Erenaeth seems the worse for wear and will probably need to rest all the way back to Phandalin. You all expect Kytrin will recover sooner than later.
The human hostage introduces himself as Sildar Hallwinter. He was accompanying Gundren Rockseeker to Phalandin as he had business there also. Gundren was headed there with provisions because he and his brothers Tharden and Nundro recently located an entrance to the long lost Wave Echo Cave, the site of the mines of the Phandelver's Pact.
It is known that there are buried riches and treasures somewhere in the vicinity of Phandelver, so some of you know of the pact, as well as what Sildar fills in:
More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver’s Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin (pronounced fan-duh-lin) prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path.
A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost.
Gundren and Sildar were waylaid on the way to Phalandin by Klarg and his band of goblins, under orders from someone named 'Black Spider'. Gundren had a map showing the location of the entrance to these fabled mines and the goblins took it. Both Gundren and the map were on their way to Cragmaw Castle last Sildar heard.
Sildar offers the party 50 gold to escort him back to Phalandin, as he has business there. He has a contact, a wizard named 'Iarno Albrek'. The wizard travelled to the town 2 months ago to establish order and hasn't been heard from. Sildar was on his way to investigate.
we are laden with cargo and injured. perhaps a pause in the pursuit. we have our bearing to this point. let's take a second look through the caves for anything else of value and then head back to town, we can finish our initial contract, escort Sildar and perhaps recruit a front line fighter more apt in defense than I to aid in the battles ahead. if we garner no further information we will return here and hope the trail has not gone too cold.
For the sake of expediency (now that someone has said they will search), you find Yeemik was carrying a pouch containing 3 gold teeth (1 gp each) and 15sp.
Klarg's room contains a lot of goods, packed in wooden crates or large sacks. Your wagon is already loaded with the stuff you were bringing from Neverwinter and there is too much here to carry on your persons. If you want to salvage this stuff, you will have to come back with an empty wagon.

Rindelk staying true to form, scorches a crater in the face of the goblin that was briefly celebrating the felling of the large half orc female.

Rindelk watches in fascnication while Kat attempts to "heal" Kyt... scribles feverishly in his journal for posterity!

The goblin, praying for its life, chose the wrong god to pray to. Leek walks behind it and slits it's throat.

Sooooo do we know where Cragmaw Castle is? Do we want to go there?
OOC: You do not know where Cragmaw Castle is. Sildar doesn't know either. You will have to ask around, maybe in Phandalin, to get a location.
Do we have a tracker? If a bunch of goblins went there with a human we should be able to track their movement in the forest.
OOC: Tracking is a survival skill check. Ask your group.

Ok. So we will end the contract, sell what we can bring, get our rewards and split it all up?
600 copper
110 silver + 15 silver (in pouch)
40 gold (statue) + 3 gold teeth + 50 (sildar reward for bringing him back)
= 120 copper, 25 silver and 18.6 gold each.
Is that correct? Am I forgetting something?
You will also get 10 gold each for delivering the cart and supplies per the original task.
18.6 gold = 18 gold 6 silver
None of this takes effect until you get to Barthen's Provisions.
There is also 1 healing potion left. I want to know who will carry it.
