The Nervous Ruffian told us how to get to the main guy's quarters. Did he tell us to go through the door under the stairs? If not, I say **** that door and go to the Nothic and head towards the quarters. Well, regardless we should feed the Nothic. The good characters will have a hard time justifying lying... :)
Your group decides to deal with the Nothic. The man is stripped naked and offered as sacrifice, securing a truce with the Nothic.
The Nothic takes the man and drags him down into the cravasse, just below the northern bridge. You hear a brief scream as the man wakes and dies from being torn into. Disturbingly, you hear the sounds of the Nothic feeding and its voice in your head, "I protect now! <cackling> I also collect magic things. You have magic things to protect? <gibberish>"
Negotiating a truce with the Nothic grants you all 90xp.
Give me a marching order as you descend the western facing stairs stairs to the north of the crevasse. Roll stealth if you wish to try to remain quiet (everyone rolls, averaged, you succeed or fail as a group), and roll perception (Pick one person, and one person can help to give advantage).
I just screwed up my experience. Instead of adding 90 xp I set my xp at 90. What xp should we be at right now? I need to put everything back the way it was. Ugh.
Still need a marching order. Someone propose one. If no one speaks up, then it stays that way.
As the group heads down the stairs, Kitryn begins to hear raucous talking, shouting, laughing and arguing. Some of the speakers are slurring their words.
Leek squeezes by Kitryn and Elila to open the southern door and prove that there is no one in the room.
Several worn tables and chairs are scattered around this large room. Wooden benches are drawn up against walls decorated with draperies of brown and red, and several ale kegs are propped up and tapped.
Four tough-looking human warriors wearing scarlet cloaks are gathered around one of the tables. A stack of coins and trinkets is heaped upon the tabletop between them.
When the door opens, they turn to look at all of you and their joviality comes to a halt. Presumably the most sober of the bunch pipes up, "<Hic> Who are you, here? Why are you impostors?"

Agree, the nothic is the pressing matter, if we satisfy him and accomplish our errand. we can explore the other hall later.

Everyone's XP is different... As far as I can remember, you should all be at the same XP.
So I have no idea what it should be...

Should I also roll perception, as the second person?
As stealth does not appear likely, big strong warrior to the front! Elila, me, Leek, Rindelk, Katerielle
No, you just help Kitryn, who decided to be the one to roll the check. He did it automatically.
Okay, thanks for the break down of xp.
We should all have the same, no? I will change mine to 580.
I'm good with being in the middle. Leek sandwich...
I use perception to see if I can recognise if the voices are human or not and how many distinct voices I can hear.
Perception: 9
What are you guys talking about? No one is there. Opens door.

The four drunk men look at you questioningly. Tipsy Ruffian asks, "Is that sho? Who yent sou?"
Drunk Ruffian answers for you, "Haaave t'be Glafftass thaaat tent shem."
Tipsy Ruffian turns with a hiss, "Shut up shtupid. Don't shtell them!"
Wasted Ruffian chimes in, "Rew Necruits haafta be ini… ini… shiated. Ante up n' shplay shnukle…. shnukle… play bones!"
Inebriated Ruffian starts to say something, but belches and almost falls off his chair. His attention wanders.
OOC: Are there uniforms about the room?
