Draco lunges forward at the spider. He trips on a vine running through the building and misses. Having lost it for a moment he refocuses his mechanical sensors to find the spider. He is unable to locate it.
Bryony and Kimberley (at disadvantage) may still get an opportunity attack if they wish, but then the remaining wounded spider more-or-less vanishes into the scrub outside the northwest corner of the ruined store.
Then, everyone may act. A massive dead spider rests inside the store, near the shriveled corpse cocooned in spider silk.
While the spider did indeed escape through the gaping hole in the roof to the northeast and disappear into the bushes outside, it did so with a crushed cephalothorax, courtesy of a wildly lucky swing of Kimberley's mace as it retreated. It is soon dead.
Combat is over. Kimberley is still suspended sideways in the webs, trapped and restrained.
Syzygy reaches for his daggers to help cut Kimberley down, “hmmm, hold on” he climbs through the rubble to where he threw them at the blights. investigation: 15
He cuts her down. “Are you alright?” He says to Kim sincerely. “That must have been… unsettling?”
It takes a bit of work, but after successfully recovering his blades, Syzygy is eventually able to cut away enough of the webs to free Kimberley.
The ruins of the store – a simple, general country store by the looks of it – is still full of ruined merchandise. Nothing is usable, but there's also no evidence of looting. A layer of thick webbing is especially notable along the roofline of the northern wall.
Quinn walks over to the dead spider and kneels beside it. He swings his pack around and digs out something that looks like a leather tool roll and lays it out. He removes some small glass vials and carefully attempts to collect some of the poison from the fangs of the spider.
He focuses so intently, knowing the consequences if he blunders this move. As he moves to extract the poison he hiccups and sticks his finger on the fang. He flinches, but attempts to hide this horrible mistake from the others. He sucks his thumb and spits.
(DM: Quinn is trying to recover some poison and save it for later use. He has a poisoners kit, which he is proficient with. Let me know how you want to resolve this. We can chat in Discord if need be.)
He then walks over to dead individual wrapped in spider silk and attempts to carefully cut the silk away to investigate who or what this is. He will search any pockets or pouches on their person. He will search their hands for rings or to see if they died clutching anything.
Quinn attempts to harvest poison from the fangs of the dead spider in the ruined store, but his method backfires. He ends up poisoning himself, instead: Quinn takes5 poison damage - divided in half due to his hearty nature (and perhaps his adrenalin after this battle.)
A careful search of the corpse of the unfortunate adventurer cocooned in spider silk yields high-quality leather armor and a shortsword in the scabbard at its hip. Looking closer, Quinn finds a belt pouch, containing a stoppered vial of red liquid, along with 23 gp and 35 sp. The body is shriveled and dry, but it appears to have been a male elf. He has nothing in his hands, nor any jewelry.
Quinn pockets the coin as well as the stopped vial. He grimaces and looks back at the crew.
"Anyone need some leather armor? This fella must've come from money. Look at this armor. The engraving is superb. He had a decent looking shortword and scabbard as well. Any takers?"
IF no one takes the armor, he'll strap it to his pack and sell it in town. He'll leave the shortsword.
“I can lead for a bit, though that spider got me pretty good.”
Quinn digs out the vial he just found, holds it up to the sky and swirls it about trying to figure out if it’s another healing potion. He unplugs the vial and gives it a sniff.
IF it appears to be a healing potion, he’ll drink it. If it does NOT resemble the potions he found earlier, he’ll hold off for now.
Quinn, wielding his axe and shield, slowly approaches U8. He stops and observes for any more twig blights or spiders. When he gets to the door facing west, he pauses to let the group catch up. He stands beside the door jamb, knocks a few times, he listens and waits for a reply.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The potion indeed resembles the other healing potions he's seen. Downing it, Quinn regains 6 hp.
Quinn begins to lead the party south through the scrub to U8. Based on its wide chimney and the rotted piles of firewood jumbled outside the walls, this sagging building was probably a smithy in its day. He knocks; there is no response. (Quinn: make a Perception or Investigation check.)
Quinn leans in close to try and hear something, anything, from behind the door.
Perception check: 8
But his head throbs from the spider poison coursing through his veins, and all he can hear is the beating of his own pulse.
Unsure of what lies behind the door, Quinn motions for the crew to step back and give him some space. He stows his axe, puts out his shield for protection and grabs the handle of the door. He takes a deep breath and shoves the door open.

The leather armor from the desiccated elf is indeed unusually nice.
The ruined village remains quiet.
Where to, next?
Kimberley pointed to the building visible across the way ( U8), " Someone else want to lead? I think I've used up my store of luck for the day."
