"I dunno. I think not. I would think if we upset the dragon, it would've let us know by now."
He skirts around the crew to get a better look at the corpses.
"Hmm...I wonder what's the story with these undead."Quinn investigates the corpses, looking for clues in hopes of deducing how these people died, how long they've been dead or any other important information about them. Investigation check: 16
"Curious that Reidoth did not mention anything of the undead. In my experience, Druids hate the undead. One would think she would've known of them."
Quinn examines the now-inert corpses. Much of their skin and clothing is burned black, their bodies partially ashen. They look like they could have originally burned to death. Any many years ago, by the state of their desiccated flesh. And come to think of it, Reidoth did mention something about "zombies".
"Creatures don't spontaneously zombify without a catalyst," Syzygy says authoritatively, "do they?" The authority leaves quickly leave his voice. "What I'm saying is: will we have to add necromancer to the list of foes we seem to be accumulating?"
Syzygy peeks his head out the door. He's twitchy but thus far today unscathed. He turns to back to the to others "do we need to take some time to rest?"
Aros checks himself, but finds no injuries from the struggle with the zombies. He looks up at the ongoing zombie discussion, ”Their arrival could be for a number of reasons. My guess would be something to do with the wizard tower. Who knows how long they’ve wandered the area.”
“I can assist in healing anyone who needs. Unless resting is preferable.”
Bryony makes a face at the corpses. "Ew, zombies," she remarks. "I feel bad for them though, whatever happened to them. It doesn't look like they had a peaceful death."
The halfling looks toward the tower. "At least we didn't wake up our dragon friend yet," she says. "I'm all right without a rest, but I wouldn't say no to a break either."

The ruined village remains quiet. Not even the sounds of birds can be heard - just the sound of a hot breeze through the dry brush.

"Wonder what's in this old cabinet."
Quinn kneels down and carefully removes soot and soil to rummage through drawers of the half buried cabinet. Once free from the dirt, he'll completely remove the drawers to thoroughly search the contents as well as the interior of the cabinet.

Quinn finds the half-buried old cabinet contains a large leather satchel filled with strange, diamond-shaped plates of a brown-gold color. Each is about half the size of a human hand, light in weight, and very tough.
It is mid-afternoon. The skies are clear. It is a bit hot and sticky - the humidity is relatively high, even as the brush is dry and in need of rain.
Quinn rummages through the leather satchel and inspects the diamond shaped plates. He knocks on them to gauge their toughness. Runs his fingers across them trying to feel the texture of these mysterious plates.
Nature check: 4(almost had a nat 18! ugh!)
He slings the satchel over his shoulder and holds up one of the plates to see if anyone knows what they are.
"Found this tucked away in this cabinet. They feel so light, but strong. Anyone ever seen anything like this?

Kimberley looked them over ( Rolled Nature 11 + 3= 14) for some reason she thought of the dragon in the tower as she regarded them....
Aros steps outside the building, uncomfortable with the idea that undead could be spreading through the forest. He watches the paths to the north and the east for further signs of disturbance from the undead. Or angry spiders. Or aggressive twig-folk.
The plates are quite tough. Kimberley examines them next – they definitely look natural, and possibly reptilian, like scales off a massive brown crocodile or lizard, maybe. They have a slight reddish-golden brown shimmer to them.
Jurgen and Draco examine the rest of the ruined smithy. There are a variety of old tools—tongs, bellows, hammers, and a pair of iron anvils— scattered around the interior of this building. They are still functional, but likely have little or no resale value.
"You might be on to somethin' there. They do look kinda like scales don't they? Very big scales."
He shifts the satchel to his backside. He inspects the wound on his hand. It doesn't look good, but it's not getting any worse. He says a silent thanks to the Wild Mother.
Quinn draws his bow and joins Aros outside. He looks towards the ruined building towards the north east (U9). Perception check: 19
DM: Looking at U9, what can Quinn see? Are there any thickets around the structure? Are all 4 walls standing? If not, he see make out any details of the interior?

The small building at U9 appears to have once been a small shop and home of some kind. It is in ruins – the roof is mostly down, and gaping holes allow Quinn to see inside most of it. The shop appears to be cluttered with sagging storage shelves and broken furniture. Shards of glass and pieces of pottery glint in the weeds and rubble next to rotted books and casks. Tall grass grows in front; there are thickets and brambles growing behind it.
Quinn squints looking at the building across the way. He whispers to Aros. "That looks like some sorta shop. Might be Mirna's place."
He steps back into the room and propose an idea to the crew.
Quinn calls out in a hushed tone.
"I see a small shop I wanna check out...it might me Mirna's place. There's some thickets on the eastern flank. Probably has some more stick people in that area.
I can sneak in, look around and come back if you all want to hang back, provide some cover for me. I promise I'll be smart about it. If things go south I'll fall back."
