Bryony joins Quinn and Boona and glances toward the blue light. She's amazed to discover Boona and Fergus. How did they appear so suddenly?
"Wow, you got here fast, Boona!" Bryony remarks. She's limping slightly but otherwise Jurgen's healing magic did the trick. There's barely a trace of the burns left by the monstrous drill.
"Maybe we should rest for a bit," the halfling finally says. Her encounter with the massive drill seems to have made her a bit more cautious about exploring this strange, underground place. "It won't do my family any good if I'm dead," she explains.
From up above, Fergus says, “I am still in the room where we fought the undead smiths. I can lower a rope or we can try and use the conveyer structure if you want to come up here and rest.”

The acrid scent smells like... sewage and stagnant wastewater.
Key to map below:
1) The blackened hulk of the inanimate fiendish auger.
2) Tracks leading into darkness.
3) Dark and foul-smelling hole, leading steeply downward (under the tracks on the other side of the wall)
4) Fergus popping his head through a hole in the ceiling 20' up, through which the bucket conveyor loops. (Lots of opportunities to tie ropes.)
5) Opening to the lava sea (previously visible from the windows in the forge.)
(No arrow) Stacks of crates look like they fill the entire east wall of this chamber. Some are half-covered by dusty tarps that barely hide what looks like ore within, while others are nailed shut.
Smoke still wisping off his clothes and hair, Jorzu walks around the collapsed auger. He's in a bit of a state, burns cover his exposed skin and his clothes are quite blackened. He kicks some loose rocks and dirt at it as he passes. "Evil digging machine".
When he approaches the group he peers up at Fergus and waves. "You missed a good one down here" he says sarcastically. Turning to the group he then asks, "What now?"
”Actually, I don’t have my rope with me,” admits Fergus with embarrassment, recalling that most of his camping supplies were still in the saddlebags on his pony.
”But I can catch one and tie it off if someone can toss it up this way,” he offers hopefully.
Squinting into the darkness, he sees Jorzu and adds, “Sounds like it was rough down there—did everyone make it through alive?”

Quinn reels back from the foul odor.
“Boona…step away from that black stuff near the track.” Quinn motions for Boona to come to him.
Quinn waves at Fegus and gives him a thumbs up.
”How’s everyone? I’m with Bryony, we can definitely use a rest. We’ve done a fair bit of scouting and have a basic lay of the land down here.
Shall we join Fergus up top for a rest? We can use the rope to easily access this spot again”

Jorzu
Smoke still wisping off his clothes and hair, Jorzu walks around the collapsed auger. He's in a bit of a state, burns cover his exposed skin and his clothes are quite blackened. He kicks some loose rocks and dirt at it as he passes. "Evil digging machine".
When he approaches the group he peers up at Fergus and waves. "You missed a good one down here" he says sarcastically. Turning to the group he then asks, "What now?"
"Let's rest," says Bryony. She moves toward Fergus. "Throw down a rope, and we'll climb up!"
If Fergus does so, the halfling will make short work of scrambling up the rope to a safe place to rest.
