Cyrus continues around the thicket. He passes other trails entering the thicket. After the last one he comes to a branch in the path. It continues to the left. To the right it dead ends in a similar appearing glade. This entire glade is filled with fireflies winking on and off.
The path continues on to a branch. To the left the path opens up to a swampy area that is free of the brambles. To the right is a glade the path continues through on the other side. In the center of the glade is a pool of clear water.
Makes sense to Starker. We need to see if there is a defendable place in this circle, or if we will have to choose whether yonfie by poison plume in a narrow corridor with thorny walls or in a glade with central art arrangements. The tactics of dragon battle royale are troubling in either geometry, Starker opines. Let’s hope we find another geometry.
Cyrus continues around the circle. The path opens up to another glade with a pool of water. He spies something in the water. At the bottom of the shallow pool is a gold necklace.
The path continues on the opposite side of the glade.
Obviously the outer trail circles the doom. We need to devise a plan to investigate interior corridors. Clearly the risk increases as we delve farther in so suggest we approach this with a little more planning.
Here are a few considerations:
It appears the East or Southeast entrance may provide the most accessible or direct escape route. If we continue deeper, that may be the best approach for expedited retreat.
Is CM vulnerable to the same physical and mental attacks that we are? If so, and we continue with his reconnoiter, should CM be protected?
Do we want to consider investigating the areas of interest on the outside first? Such as Pool with object, fire flys, dryad statue.
I would vote for no at this point as we are in dangerous territory if discovered.
The narrow confines make this challenging for a group encounter. Do we consider approach from different corridors to provide more complexity in the attack? Would also prevent the group from being encompassed with an area of effect weapon (such as poison breath). However this would also diminish our own area of effect spells such as Bless.
I can send CM to a safe pocket dimension using an action, and will do so as soon as we or he spots a non-mini dragon. So he should be ok wothout protection unless we get completely surprised.
if there is a clearing towards the center with muliple offerings I would be in favor of splitting up to avoid us all getting splashed.
Any way to make Crow invisible or very stealthy and have him do a fly over?
CM transits glade. Sticking to right hand wall, staying far from cirque de shroom

One more go counterclockwise to the next entrance (at 7 on the ‘clockface’) and then right hand rule with monkey eye guy.

Going afk for the night. Happy to let someone else drive monkey scouting or have folk crowdsource Starker snark and sorcery.
A loud *BUUURRRPPP!!* is heard from Hoid’s backpack.
Hoid will investigate his backpack.
You open and find a sprite inside. He has been busily gobbling up your rations. When you reveal him he blinks invisible.
(( You have 0 rations ))

/plans?
Should we have CM navigate carefully around the pool in the glad and continue forward, which would be due east?

Like racoons to the shinny object... Dead Racoon!

“I do not wish to be found alone in the air facing a dragon,” Crow responds to Starker.
