Hoid picks up the axe, and rolls a 1. No left leg now.......
Two natural passages end in this natural cavern. The ceiling is about 12’ high and covered with small stalactites. The floor is tightly packed sand. Across the room is a pile of blankets and some fleeces.”
The passage opens up into a large natural chamber. There are small stalactites on the ceiling that is 15’ high. The floor remains tightly packed sand. There is what appears to be an altar constructed of wood and decorated with bones and skulls. The wood has dark stains on the surface of the altar and running down the sides. A fetid odor fills the cave. The far corner of the cavern has a pile of small crates, kegs and sacks. Another natural passage exits to room about 20’ away on the near wall. There is a sense of foreboding in the air.
To Hoid: “ I would like to remove this altar from future use if you want to see if anything of interest in the goods in the corner.” “I also recommend that we gather the group before continuing down that passageway.”
barring no protest from Hoid, Kragen approaches the alter, says a prayer to Tyr asking for the souls of the victims to be at rest. Proceeds to take his warhammer and renders the altar useless, turning it into rubble.
The pile of crates and sacks hold food supplies, ale and miscellaneous trade goods. Hidden amongst the sacks is a small strong box. The contents rattle like it is full of coins.
Kragen smashes the altar, destroying it. He is filled with a sense of righteous justice.
((We did take the dolphin buckle, yes? Moved Erbert’s position to next to last, Trolkarl behind him.))
Erbert has been walking around with the group, taking notes in his journal, he describes the grisly scene with the rats and takes notes, saying to himself “Evidence…” as he writes this down. As they move forward toward the tight passage to the west, he notes “They must’ve gone this way, on your toes everyone. Has anyone seen the cache Scampus mentioned? Do you think it was back at that first turn when we entered, to the east? This doesn’t make sense with the map he drew us…”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The belt buckle is attached to the belt with no clear way to separate them. You are able to easily remove the belt and buckle from the captain's corpse. The belt is made of a supple leather and the buckle is silver, inlaid with mother-of-pearl dolphins. ((Belt added to Trolkarl's inventory.))

Kragen stays out and watches the other room, ensuring nothing will surprise either intrepid adventurers
Hoid tells Kragen that the rooms connect and moves to investigate the rectangular object in the other room.
Upon hearing Hoid, Kragen joins him in the room.

Hood Investigation check = 18
The pile of crates and sacks hold food supplies, ale and miscellaneous trade goods. Hidden amongst the sacks is a small strong box. The contents rattle like it is full of coins.
Kragen smashes the altar, destroying it. He is filled with a sense of righteous justice.
Is the strongbox openable without force? If not, Hoid will move to the next room to search the blankets and fleeces.
The strong box is locked.
Investigation check = 15
Hoid pulls the blankets and fleeces off the pile one by one. He finds nothing among the nasty blankets. Loose sand is under the pile.
Kragen joins the remainder of the group “let’s finish our investigation and explore the cavern passage to the west”
waits for Hoid to rejoin the group.
Hoid rejoins.
Give me a single file marching order if you head down the passage to the left. It is 3’ wide.
How about Chadwick, Hoid, Kragen, Gnueman, Trolkarl, Erbert
Other suggestions?
Make it so.
The passage narrows. It is difficult, if not impossible, to move past one another here. Let’s have everyone weigh in on this.

Hoid has gathered a strong box from the room with the altar. Nothing else has been picked up by the group.
Good point on gathering the buckle. I can run back for it.
The only gap I see with the Scampus map is this passage, just to the south of us now, which is missing on his map.
Gate "D" was locked for that eastern passage just as we came down the ladder.
