Hoid moves next to Hinnick with the middle 30’ of the movement being a jump. Hopefully the dodging orc gets no opportunity attack because he is too busy dodging and/or is not at sufficient altitude to connect.
If Hoid recognizes Hinnick, he will say, “We missed you at Ravenshield Manor!” If he doesn’t recognize him, skip dialogue and proceed directly to the beat down.
First attack: 22 to hit, 13 damage (rerolled one die).
Second attack: 19 to hit, 11 damage (rerolled both dice).
Orc2 WIS save = 6, failure. He takes another 7 necrotic damage.
The stable doors suddenly open inwards and three orc warriors rush out to attack. Kragen is closest and bears the brunt of the onrush. To hit = 20, 16, and 13. One hits for 13 slashing damage.
Garrent reacts to the new onslought by flanking Orc9. He attacks, to hit = 21 for 12 slashing damage.
Made second rolls for Disadvantage on Dodging Orc18. Both attacks still hit.
Hinnick uses a free action to drink a potion. Then a Bonus action for Second Wind. He then uses Action Surge to attack Hoid twice. To hit = 21 and 16. One hit for 11 slashing damage (8 after -3 for Heavy Armor Master)
Action: Activate the pearl of power to regain the lost spell slot
Move: 30' forward
Still invisible, keeping his voice low but enough for Chadwick to hear over the battle cries
Chadwick, - on your right
Anticipating a chance for the paladin to attack the defensive-focused orc from both sides or allow for a surprise invisible swing from Darkbane if the Orc moves away
Anticipating a chance for the paladin to attack the defensive-focused orc from both sides or allow for a surprise invisible swing from Darkbane if the Orc moves away
An invisible combatant cannot provide Flanking bonus since they are unseen.
Absolutely fine with the ruling. Seems odd you could distract someone enough to lower their defenses if they didn’t know you are there.
Interesting note though. I wanted to see how the rules addressed this question, if at all. And I actually see no flanking rules in the 2024 books. It was an optional rule in the 2014 rules. No take on the removal… just sharing
Is it me, or does all of this seem to over complicate everything? I would rather simplify things, if possible. Bring back the old school basic red box rules!
Gneuman's attacks all come in the same Action. So the Advantage from being invisible is there for all three. The orc does not get Dodge bonus for an invisible opponent.
Second attack, second roll = 21, a hit for 11 damage
Third attack, second roll (made incorrect roll first time) = 26, a hit for 8 damage.
Total damage = 18 piercing plus 8 bludgeoning.
First two attacks drop the orc.
Gaius moves to the opposite battlement and crouches behind it for total cover from Orc19. He casts Ray of Frost at Orc2, to hit = 9 (nat 1). He misses.
Starker moves to find cover from the NE and SW towers. He casts Magic Missile with a 2nd level slot at Orc2 for 12 Force damage.
Orc24 is exiting through the stable.
Orc17 comes out of the SW tower door on the roof and attacks Gneuman, to hit = 19 for 7 slashing damage.
Hoid to act.

Gneuman will look to remain invisible and climb up the rope.
Gaius uses Misty Step to move to the battlement top. He then climbs down to the roof.
Starker moves out of LOS of two of the towers and casts Toll The Dead on Orc2. WIS save = 12, fails for 13 necrotic damage.
Hoid to act

(( Hinnick was not included in initiative. I added him and put him as Dodging last round. If this changes your action let me know. ))
Used first two rolls as first attack, hit for 13 damage.
2nd attack to hit = 16. Hit for 11 damage.
Kragen to act
(I skipped the orc because he was dodging, but I’m ok with the outcome.)
with his shield raised for cover, points his Holy Symbol at Orc2. A dolorius bell rings out around the Orc.
Toll the Dead. Wis save 13
3+4=7
then Waddles towards cover by the stable doors
Orc2 WIS save = 6, failure. He takes another 7 necrotic damage.

Chadwick to act
Bonus action: Cast HM on Orc 18
Attack 1: 21 to hit, 11 dam + 1HM : 12 total
Attack 2: 23 to hit, 13 dam + 6HM : 19 total
"You're like a bloody jack rabbit, I can't keep up with you anymore!" Chadwick yells laughing to Hoid while he carves some chunks out of an orc.
Trolkarl to act
Move: 10' to get flanking on Orc2 with Gaius
Attack: Swinging Darkbane twice
First attack at advantage from invisibility + flanking
to hit 11,13 -> 13 damage
2nd attempt
to hit 10
(Was orc2 moved accidentally? I think it should still be in the tower.)
((Map reset. Orc2 is in the tower, not on the roof.))
Trolkarl to act.
In that case...

I think we keep Flanking. It just seems to make sense.

Orc19, Orc21 and Orc12 all fire at Hoid with their crossbows. To hit = 13, 11 and 10. All miss.
Orc2 fires his crossbow at Starker, to hit = 14. A miss.
Orc8 is coming out of the stable.
Orc18 attacks Chadwick with his Greataxe, to hit = 8. A miss.
Gneuman to act.
Gneuman moves behind the orc (see map) and strikes from behind, becoming instantly visible.
15 + 7 = 22 to hit (other bonuses?) 7 damage with V-spear between the orc's shoulder blades.
4 + 7 = 11 to hit (miss?) or 11 damage.
Follow up kick between the legs to orc nads: 1 + 7 = 8 (miss)
Gneuman's attacks all come in the same Action. So the Advantage from being invisible is there for all three. The orc does not get Dodge bonus for an invisible opponent.

Hoid to act.
