After making sure that JR. is comfortable, he would leave plenty of feed for him before making his way inside the inn. He would place the egg inside an empty backpack and carry it into the inn, holding it tightly in his arms. After paying the 1gp for the two rooms with two beds, he takes a seat near the fire, allowing the wet bag to warm up. He had hoped that the moisture from the rain combined with the heat from the fire would help the egg to continue to develop. The fear of losing the egg was weighing heavily on the kobold... but he knew that if the egg were no longer viable... then it was the same as if he had allowed it to be destroyed back at the cave.
OOC: So did we get any additional coin for handing over all the stolen greencrest loot? Did we divide up the coin? I don't think I have updated Krackle's character sheet with new coin in a while :P
The Priest Librarian examines the items. "I am aware of the cult of the dragon and in the past they were more secretive tending to focus on raising and controlling dracoliches. I have heard they have become bolder of late." She takes a closer look at the drawing of the tattoo. "Oh, dear this marking is in reverence to the goddess Tiamat as the 5 marks represent her 5 chromatic dragon heads. She is an evil deity and should be avoided. Long ago she was imprisoned within the 9 hells. Well in Avernus the first layer of hell. I know it is not my place to say, but you should stay clear of the Cult of the Dragon."
Krackle holds the bag closer, gently talking to the egg like a parent may talk to a child while still growing in it's mothers womb. "Don't you worry little one.... I'll take care of you. Everything will be alright." He whispers while gently stroking the contents of the bag.
While caring for the egg, he is sure to keep it hidden from any of the other patrons within the tavern. After warming himself and the egg, He raises a small clawed hand in an attempt to order something to eat. Assuming someone comes to speak with him, he would clear his throat and close up his bag. "Hello! Can I get a mead and some kind of meat to eat? Also, do you know if there is anywhere in town that I could buy a carriage?" The kobold asks with a smile.
A plump waitress comes by to Krackle and says, "Right away sir." She soon comes back with Beef stew and mead. "For a carriage you should head to the Thousandheads Coster. Caravans come through there all the time and I am sure you can buy a carriage to your liking" she will then tell Krackle how to find the Coster house. "The meal and mead are 1 silver" says the waitress as she waits for payment.
Krackle reaches into his bag and pulls out enough coin to cover the meal and then an additional gold coin as well. "Here you go! the Coin for the meal and one gold coin for you too!" The kobold says with a smile as he drops the coins into her hand. "you've been very helpful! I'm sure my friends and I will enjoy our stay here!" the small kobold says as he quickly gobbles up his meal.
After eating his meal and getting dry, he would tag along with Zeds and do some shopping, eager to purchase a carriage if possible.
OOC: SO I RP'd that Krackle bought enough rooms for all of us and I assume that maybe at least Zeds is eating at the tavern with Krackle? I didn't RP any interaction because I didn't want to step on any toes. If the group was going to go shopping together, Krackle would tag along, otherwise he would head out on his own to see about buying a carriage. Also how big is this town? is the carriage shop really close or far away from the tavern?
Zeds easily enough eats a meal with Krackle and any of the others who wish. For himself, Zeds was happy to get a proper meal and drink in him as it seemed it had been ages since he'd had the luxury to do so. Zeds does look at Krackle a bit crossed eyed as the Kobold is talking to the egg. "It's good you have it out of view of wandering eyes but talking to your bag like that is going to raise questions too..." Zeds warns.
Zeds is interested in doing a little bit of shopping, nothing so extravagant as a carriage but looking at some new armor, picking out a few daggers and maybe a change of clothes or two. He decides against any new armor, nothing he finds in his price range really works for him ((Danged max dex bonus)) but he does pick up four extra daggers. Nothing elaborate or anything, just nicely balances and serviceable. You can never have enough blades at the ready. Finally he buys two more cloaks and other bits and pieces of clothing. It's not about fashion so much as a quick change and more able to change his appearance on the fly. Then it is off to the Coster house with Krackle. "Remember, negotiate the price down. Never accept their first or even second offer. Never fall in love with something or they'll see it and drive a harder bargain... And definitely check with me before making a deal."
"OK, Sounds good. I'm sure with your help we can get a great price! I want to get something nice that I can live in... and big enough to haul lots of food for Jr and Eggy." The kobold says with a smile. "I better get Jr. before we go... I'll need him to pull the carriage back to the tavern of we find a good one." The kobold can hardly contain his excitement as he bounces around Zeds (and anyone else tagging along) on their way through the streets towards the caster house.
The Priest Librarian offers some books though the book is rather thin as secretive organizations are hard to pin down all the facts. Sterling does learn that Tiamat is trapped in Avernus due to some old unknown devilish contract. To whom the devil it could be that can trap a dragon goddess is unknown. Sterling then returns to the Inn to find his companions gone.
The rest of the party heads to the Coster house and soon arrives at a bustling warehouse full of different caravanners coming and going with a wagon maker and repair shop right next door called Wheelright's Carriages and Carts.
Inside there is a full team of carpenters and smiths working together creating carriages and wagons. As the party enters a tired women busy looking over a list looks up and asks "Is your wagon or carriage in need repair. If so, you are in the right place as our work is well known in the Berdusk and beyond."
With the party gone Stirling buys 5 gold of bread and ale. Then walks to the Temple to Helm. Enroute if he sees any homeless he will stop give them some bread and ale cast Cure wounds as required bless them and move on.
At the temple Stirling will give a report on the Cultust rise. If they have nothing to share Stirling will spend the rest of the day feeding and helping heal the poor and homeless.
Stirling will join the party at the inn around dinner.
Krackle would ride his giant lizard up to the front of the warehouse, holding his reigns as he guides him up towards the woman. "Hello! My name is Krackle and I'm looking to purchase a carriage." he would reply with a smile as he gently pats the giant lizard on the snout. "I plan to have Jr. here pull it! I want it to be nice enough that I can live in it on long journeys and strong enough to stand up to a dragon!" The small kobold stands tall, trying to look as though he hide his excitement and appear as though he were a serious businessman.
"Ah a buyer with a giant lizard how rare. I am Kelsie and come right this way as we have a rather bountiful selection of carriages and wagons outside to our left."
Once outside she points to a brand-new carriage. This whole area is covered by a large piece of tarp to protect the carriages from the weather. "This is one of our best carriages and it can be yours for a mere 250gp. Go ahead and give it a once over. I have absolute confidence you will like our craftsmanship." says Kelsie
"OH Wow..." Krackle gasps as he walks around the carriage. "What do you think Zeds?"
The kobold walks around the exterior if the carriage, trying his hardest to hide his excitement. It doesn't take long before Krackle is crawling under the carriage and even attempting to climb on top as he works to inspect every inch of his potential purchase. "Can we look inside?"The kobold asks holding his tail tightly in his claws.
"Two hundred and fifty?? Silver, I'm assuming?" Zeds exclaims incredulously.
"For half that price we could get you a full sized carriage that would fit you and junior and have a back deck for sunny day lounging," Zeds continues as he also walks around the carriage and gives it the look over. "Seriously Krackle, you cannot buy this for that price. It is ridiculous. You can't afford it. Even if you could you'd have nothing left to buy food for yourself OR junior..."
---
(I'm not assuming Zeds knows that the Players Handbook lists carriages for 100gp but I'm assuming he could have some sense that 2.5 times that is too much. Besides, he would be looking to add a strenuous counter argument anyway for the sake of bartering over the price... Then again, he rolled a Nat1 on an Insight Check to see if they were trying to gouge Krackle or not so really Zeds is just making the same argument he would have if they were asking 10 gold...)

The dragon egg wobbles very slightly enough that Krackle knows the egg is still viable and the baby dragon still lives.
Krackle holds the bag closer, gently talking to the egg like a parent may talk to a child while still growing in it's mothers womb. "Don't you worry little one.... I'll take care of you. Everything will be alright." He whispers while gently stroking the contents of the bag.

Berdusk is a small city and the Coster house is only 20 minutes away.
