This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Krackle looks the woman up and down before looking to Zeds. "I'm sure she didn't really mean to say 250g Zeds..." He says as the turns and looks back to the woman, the excited kobold looking much more serious as his eyes narrow a bit. "Or perhaps this is the wrong carriage, and there is another one around that is worth that amount of coin...Because I can't imagine she would be trying to cheat the hero's of Greencrest out of their hard earned coin" he says while giving the woman a hard look. "I grew up in Waterdeep... and I've seen many carriages and dealt with many cheats. You arn't trying to cheat us right?" He asks as he gives her a chance to change the price of the carriage.
Persuasion with the help of Zeds if needed / appropriate 15
Kelsie takes a moment to think but she knows the jig is up. "Alright the carriage is yours for 100 gp and that is a fair price. You won't find any cheaper around here. You can't blame me for wanting a bit of profit."
Krackle smiles wide and quickly shakes the woman's hand. "Sounds like a deal to me!" He replies with a wide grin before opening the door to the carriage and looking around inside. "OH WOW! It's really nice in here! Zeds! Come check out my new house!" The kobold shouts from inside his new purchase. Assuming he comes inside, Krackle whispers "Hey... Thanks for you help back there... you know... making sure I didn't get ripped off.."
He then looks over every inch of the carriage before working to harness Jr. to the carriage. Once JR. is hooked up, he offers him a pat on the head and a handful of feed before heading off to their next destination. "Hop on Zeds! No need to walk when you can ride in style!" He shouts excitedly from the drivers seat of the new ride.
Ironthar is staying at the inn for the early part of the day, he is still regaining his strength and just spending his free time drinking and eating. He does get a well deserved hot bath at the inn after he got his fill of mead. He sits in the tub for half an hour trying to rub off all the blood and muck he accumulated on the past week.
Freshen up, he orders another drink while he wait for his friends to come back.
((Just how big is this carriage? Is it a full size carriage that can fit several people inside and atop? Is it more Kobold sized? Is Junior enough to pull it? Whether Zeds climbs inside or atop or not will largely depend on these answers. lol... ))
Zeds checks out the carriage with renewed interest and unrestrained curiosity now that a deal has been made. Never good to look too interested too soon but that time has passed. "Not too shabby, you're riding in style now!" Zeds says to the happy kobold. "There will be more costs involved though... Repairs and having it watched when we're in towns and such... But definitely a nice purchase."
It's a full-sized carriage and Krackle Jr. can pull it though he won't be able to run while attached to the carriage. The party can purchase oxen or horse to help Krackle Jr. pull the carriage.
There is the lighter option of a covered wagon that can be purchased and Krackle Jr. would be able to easily pull and run while attached to the wagon. The wagon is also cheaper at 35gp.
ooc: I definitely want the full blown carriage, I am not too concerned with running at the moment.
Krackle places the backpack holding the egg between himself and Zeds before heading to any remaining shops Zeds would like to visit and then returns to the tavern.
"Hey Ironthar! I bought a house! with wheels!" krackle beams after Jr. is stabled again and he makes his way inside the tavern
Once again everyone gathers back together at the Inn. Now with a new carriage. You can stay the night and leave tomorrow or head out immediately for Scornubel.
“We should prepare for the travel to Scornubel then rest for the night, but we should go before dawn. Less chance of banditry that way and we’ll arrive early.”
"So this is some large scale dragon cult that deals with undead dragons and is trying to release the dragon god?" Zeds asks, shocked and a bit overwhelmed. "And we are getting involved why?"
Zeds looks around to the others waiting for a satisfactory answer. "Really, who are we to be taking on such a threat? This is way above us... Shouldn't this be like what the guards are for? The armies? Maybe the Harpers? What can we do against such a threat? And why us?"
(The threat is worldwide if this comes to pass. There is no hole you can climb into to safeguard yourself from this if you do nothing, plus going to the armies and guards would do no good without proof. A few dead cultists would not be enough to convince the rulers that something must be done. So far, the raids have only been against small villages and towns using mostly thugs and brigands. At best they may hire some adventurers to look into it.)
((Sure... I realize that. And I will of course have Zeds go along with it no matter what... But RP wise, Zeds is a rogue who is always looking after his own self interest so he has to at least inquire about such thing.))
"I guess it is a good thing that we will have a dragon fighting on our side too...right?" Krackle replies as he gently pats the backpack on his lap. "I mean... for the first time in my life I have coin and a safe place to sleep... I really don't want some dragon to come and mess that up."
"You have a point.... but the gods have a plan for us. Lathander give me a message to travel south just before this happened. That is Devine Providence. As for Krackel he now is the papa of a dragon. Zeb I'm guessing your richer then you ever have been. And Ironthar.... frankly I'm still figuring you out...but we each have profited in our own way thus far. It might be we are the gods chosen heros to stop this or more likely we are the unknown noise that distracts the beast long enough for the hunter to claim it's prize. For one I am just a humble pawn for the gods but ever pawn is a potential queen."
Stirling pauses for a second realizing that might have not sounded like he hoped. But excited he presses on.
"But let's save the world or at least profit in our own way in the chaos of crash in this tidal wave of crap that is about to sweep the land."
Reaching the high of his sermon he stands up grabbing a drink.
"What say you? Let make this adventuring party official"
"I'm trying to smack the one responsible for this great terror while I'm here in this plane. Coming home before that would be dishonorable to my people. My intuition is these cults are still small in number, that's why they avoid big cities like Baldur's Gate and target small towns, like the cowards they all are. We should crush them while they're still small, waiting for bureaucrats to deal with it would give them time to grow."
Krackle looks grom Zeds to the woman... looking to se if it is a fair deal...

Krackle gets the sense that the price is indeed rather high, and Kelsie is trying to pull one over Krackle.
"Is it a magical carriage?" Zeds inquires of Kelsie. "Does it fly? Bake cookies? Play music? Anything?"
"We really should check out at least one other seller... if not more," he then turns and adds to Krackle.

Stirling walks back to the inn thinking on what he learned.
When he gets back he will sit at the table with the others

With everyone back together Stirling explains what he discovered.
"So I'm guessing this cult is trying to release their dragon god from hell or at least that's their long term goal."

He holds out the drink trying to toast the others

He held up his tankard too for a toast.
