Though still completely in paranoia over Mira, Shugo and her son ending up in some kind of trouble behind her backs, Maya does soften a little when Liivi gently strokes her. She does gasps, already expecting the tabaxi woman to claw her to pieces, but it never came. Instead She nods in silence with a pang of guilt in her youthful face, drifting back and forth from the door to her own head when Valijs approaches the two idling woman, causing her to jump. "Eh? N-n-no! I... you... scare... me! I... was... not... expect... you... come close... not expect... this! I speak... f-f-fine... w-w-what.... talk about?!; I... you scared me! I wasn't expect you to come close... I didn't expect t-t-this! I'm s-s-speaking fine w-w-what are you talking about?!" She panics with flailing arms, hoping the amulet that's tucked underneath her disguise will do her wonders and counterbalance the confusion. What did she do wrong?! Did she actually... no she did. Maya gulps when she realised her mistake, even if it was just one word... how did she let her guard down?!
She suddenly stands up, takes a massive deep breath and resets, but it's clear that she hasn't recovered from the shock; Not even to reach out a clawed hand to shake his. "Um... w-w-we have... t-t-three more... they not here. I look back... I-I... wonder... they come... I-I... worried... they... get... trouble... behind... our... backs...; Um... w-w-we have three more... they're not here right now. I'm looking back and... I-I wonder if they're coming soon. I-I'm worried they've gotten into trouble behind our backs..." She falters mid-speech as her hidden fox ears droop in fear, hoping that the magic amulet would at least convince him otherwise that she's from this world. Or try to. Maybe Alek can defend her in her place.

Despite his attempt to gently cut the rope tying the bag shut because he knows there's someone inside; the person within the bag squirms so much that she ends up slamming her arm into the extremely sharp knife as the elf slices the bag. Hearing her scream, Shugo recoils in shock. He hadn't meant to hurt her, he was trying to get her out. Now that she's clearly visible, he has no idea how the heck absolutely no one notices her, and he has even less of a clue as to why she doesn't just fall out of the bag and run. Maybe she's in just as much shock as he is.
All these thoughts race through his head as he retreats to his companions location. He feels absolutely terrible, but he's also angry at those bastards. Still in shock, he forgets that he's still invisible until Renar questions where the hell he went.
He drops his invisibility, he looks absolutely miserable. "This is why I don't try to make plans." He says miserably. Seeing the blood on his knife, he nearly drops it. Then he hurriedly cleans it off on the ground before stowing it away. "We have to do something about that. Not only is that an innocent person being kidnapped, but she may have a role in our trial!"Shugo says mostly to Renar, "This could be Adalaide stalling for Cezars. If we don't do something, they could very well try to pin her kidnapping on us." He glances down the way they went, still not able to fathom how literally everyone in this city is so blind. "We could still catch up to them, but it wouldn't be safe to do that with just the three of us."He looks back at Renar, clearly hoping to be told what to do and still looking miserable from guilt.
Alex lets out a long breath, "Okay. That... thanks, that makes me feel a little better."He gives a smile. He knew his mentor would have a similar mindset to him, it's just a relief to hear it spoken. "Yeah, I wasn't planning on shouting the whole thing from the rooftops hahahah. No need to cause mass panic. I just... well I feel like some others should know, just in case whatever Janus and Paulis are planning doesn't work out. If no one else is ready then there is nothing to fall back on. I just... don't know who else to turn to at this point. I guess I'll have to leave that up to you."
"Whaaa... hu...huh?" Alex stammers when Valijs asks about Maya's speech. His face goes slightly red since... well he is a terrible liar. "I... well... I'm not sure exactly."He looks to Maya. He knows he can trust Valijs, but it's Maya's choice to reveal her secret, not his. "I think she said she came from some obscure community in Prihyeh, but I don't think she specified exactly where....?" He trails off awkwardly, knowing that he probably just screwed up big time. He hates telling lies, especially to his mentor. But what other choice does he really have!!!
In a vain attempt to cover up that mistake he says, "She's also nervous around strangers, that's why she's acting strange." He puts a hand on Maya's arm, "I promise Valijs is a good person. He's my mentor and I trust him with my life. You have nothing to fear from him." He smiles nervously, looking back at Valijs, "We're all a little on edge about this trial too."
"Anyways, yeah, we need a way to get to Adelaide. If she's still free to do evil then nothing is going to change regardless of whether or not we win this trial,"he unconsciously grips the hilt of his sword, staring off into the distance for a moment as if envisioning what they need to do. Then he shakes his head, bringing himself back to the present.
"Oh... I wanted to ask, how are Solvega and Lorena doing? Are... are they here?" He sounds hopeful, face reddening slightly as if embarrassed.
I cringe so much when Shugo barely even sets her free and injures her. So much for stealth I thought especially when he finally drops his invisibility. Now what? I don't think there's anything else we can do besides watch with a truckload of guilt when the goons duck around the corner. This is why I don't make plans, he said. I turn back with a scoff. “You know what the problem is, buddy? Neither do I. Yet someone needs to adapt for the team.” I shake my head in disgust. Sure I'd like to save whoever that was he injured, but they're down the bend now… if only we had some way of saving her without directly causing a major fight… someway we can teleport her without engaging…
Wait… that's it. A light bulb suddenly appears in my head as I suddenly pause in my tracks as I take note of the window we all missed and gasp in realisation. Why didn't we do this earlier? I forgot Mira-san can teleport people! Damn it... i clench my fist as the idea suddenly overlaps my brain and I stop focusing on reuniting with the other three.
“Speaking of plans, I do have one, but depending on what you two decide to do next, it won't be easy.” I suddenly address the two as I whip around. “The shop doesn't open until 11am right? And the trial is... I don't know when it is but, I do know we have about 1 and a half hours to enact this; That should be sufficient time to find and rescue whoever that was and meetup with the other three, or vice-versa. There's still time to salvage this opportunity. And theoretically, we could technically still take them on; We're strong enough to hold our ground even at a slight disadvantage. Theoretically.” I glance back at the other two that stand before me, before a cross my arms and shake my tail underneath my disguise as the plan comes to fruition in my head.
“Ok… Mira-san. You can teleport people from a distance right?” I ask her first whilst my paws flex a little to ease up the stiffness. “In a nutshell, if we encounter those five goons again, you can potentially teleport their victim to your place; You need to stay far away where they cannot get you whilst remaining in their lines of sight. I can always push them back from a distance if it works. Shugo, I don't know if you can turn invisible again, but it would really benefit us too; if that person is still tied up whilst she teleports cut her free and CAREFULLY this time!” I noticed their confusions though, so I followed through.
“I can think of two options on how we can proceed with this. Option 1: We can risk it for the biscuit with just the three of us, go through the ally they dived under and spy on them again before we teleport that certain victim to safety and then make a run for it. We all need to be spread out; Mira-san will hang behind whilst I will flank quietly from the sides in a different direction if I can. Problem is the numbers disadvantage might get to us, plus if they escape and use this as an excuse to get us in trouble with the law…” I pause for a moment as I recall my spells; We all should be fast enough to escape, thing is i don't know if our victim can catch up with us. “But I have thunderwave ready; If they advance on us I plan to stall them and push them back a few metres away. When they've been knocked back whilst we retreat with our victim, we pick up our three reinforcements from wherever they are and then turn back to face them in larger numbers this time. It's a strategy I've picked up during my years of combat… It sounds crude but I can picture how the “Retreat to advance” strategy works.”
I take a moment to clear my throat before I continued. “Option 2: We can play it safe, head to where Liivi, Oka- UH I mean- Maya-san… sorry… Um… Ok, we meet up where Liivi, Maya-san and Alek are at, tell them what we saw earlier and our plan to tackle them; We'll definitely have the numbers advantage this way; Stealth and the retreating tactic won't be necessary either, but there's a chance that we might not be able to track them down easily, let alone save that person before they deal heavy damage to her.”
I cross my arms to solidify that I've finished explaining. It's a lot of abstract talking, I know, but if these two insist on saving her and gaining an allied witness, then this is the only way I can think of for now. “Now that I've finished, If you must know, I'll side with whatever you two are deciding. Of course though, I'm not the one to back away in the face of danger; We can technically face them as a trio if we have to, but if you two decide to remain indecisive and choose a different option from yourselves, I'll decide for the team and we'll go down the alley straight away.” I then sigh to myself, wondering if my sharp senses could've picked them up earlier whilst we got off the carriage.
Mira
Mira wasn't expecting Renar to just suddenly change his mind. So now he wants to rescue that bagged up lady? She was about to protest until she hears his future scheme. “Hmm that… wow. I can't think of something like this on the fly. And I can see it working in a way, but yeah, you're totally not wrong with the flaws…” Mira replies impressed and flabbergasted whilst her rabbit ears twitch. Darn it he's actually right. The future queen of the rebellion could've actually just vortexed her to where they are and save the entire trio the trouble. How did she not account for that?! though... she is somewhat when Renar stutter upin saying something else for Maya... what was that all about?
“I suck at hand to hand combat, so yes, I'll listen to you and stay as far away as possible; My Vortex Warp can reach really far so it shouldn't be much of a problem, unless if that poor woman can't run with us…” She answers. In fact, she can technically teleport her without the need to say anything. She has the ability to conjure this subtly. “We need to make sure no one is holding her though, because I don't want to be teleporting those goons either.” Thank the Lancean skies she's able to meet a clever tactician like him. She can never think of something complex like this on her own, let alone on the spot.
“Being a long ranged queen, I'd say we'd play it safe and acquire our missing reinforcements. Unless you say otherwise Shugo. Thing is, if it's for justice, I wouldn't mind risking it too and confront them as a trio. After all, if you guys are indeed fighting for a good cause, I'd stand with you no matter what the consequences are. I'd fight alongside those who share the rebellion’s positive ideals.” Seeing that she's undecided too, she turns to Shugo. “Well Mr clumsy stealth guy. Where do you stand? Risk it for the biscuit or play it safe?”
Shugo's face brightens a bit when Renar starts spouting tactics. He knew Renar didn't like being the group leader, but he also knew the guy has brains and is perfectly capable of picking up the mantle if need be. However, his face darkens again when Renar asks if he can use his invisibility again. "No, I'd have to rest a while first. We don't have time for that." He says pathetically.
His miserable expression fades a bit when Renar continues strategizing, and when Mira brings up her vortex warp spell it fades almost completely. Though guilt still claws at his heart. "I'm perfectly capable of stealth with or without invisibility. I also have other ways to distract people if need be." He says in reference to his ability to cast minor illusion. "I say lets go get her. I'll carry her away if I have to, and If you need to ensure she's not being held by one of those goons, I'll swipe her from them and you can teleport us both out...." He thinks about that for a moment. Should he really be putting the egg at risk like that? "Or well, Renar could do that too probably. We could just play that part by ear since it sounds like we are splitting up."He looks between the others. "Once we grab her we can try to lose those guys in the crowd. Though we need to decide if we are going to come strait back to the shop and lock ourselves inside or hope Astas home. Or we will need to run back to the church. I doubt this will take a full hour and a half, so I'm thinking we get to the church and the other three as fast as we can after grabbing the goblin."
I listen to Shugo's tone darkening when he realized he wasted his invisibility. But I'm thankful he's onboard with this. Plus he says he can still stealth without invisibility. I mean, I'll trust his judgment for now, but I need to make sure he's accounted for if the plan goes awry. "It's decided then." I solidify with crossed arms. "We'll enact the plan right off the bat and trail them behind that alleyway. Depending on how that person goes though, Shugo, you can swipe her up before Mira teleports you and the person we're saving back to Mira-san's location, but if you want to do that, it needs to be clean unlike the previous time. Don't worry about me as I can find a way to catch up to you two." I then hear him voicing his concerns about where to retreat. "If that place where Alek, Liivi and Maya-san is closeby, we can potentially go inside to drop our victim and then call our backups before we turn back to drive them out for real." I then turn to Mira. "Of course, if we're short on breath, she can always teleport us again and save the distance we need to run."
"If you're so concerned about that miniature egg you're holding, pass the bag to Mira-san, as I doubt she'd be doing anything strenuous besides teleporting her to safety and feigning a retreat." I gave one last remark to Shugo. "I mean, I would like to lose them in the crowd, but if we can't find our way to wherever the other three are..."I stop there, thinking I would ened up saying something that would mostly likely anger these Lanceans. Making sure no one else is around to see us, I whip my head one last time, before I eye the narrow alley and attempt to spot a path where I can flank from the other side. "Ikimasuyo! (行きますよ, Let's move) Every second counts." I mutter as I disappear behind the alleyway and look out for those goofballs. they couldn't have cover much ground in this timeframe, so they must be somewhere... (Perception: 9)
Mira
With Shugo standing his ground and the plan confirmed, Mira steels her shoulders and legs, but perks her ears when he mutters something in Maya's language. At some point, she'll need to pester either him or that beautiful fox lady to teach her this forbidden language. That aside when she hears Renar's advice on teleporting the two to the church when it's in distance, she hesitates for a bit. Sure she can twin spell the vortex warp, but that would already use up the rest of her metamagic; She has three sorcery points each day. The first being to use the same spell without muttering anything on her end, which only cost one sorcery point. then again, she can recovery a limited amount of those when needed so it could work. "Sigh... I mean I can only teleport people twice without exerting myself, but sure. Alright then, Mr Oddball. I'll pass the baton to you for now. Without further ado, I'll advance slowly on my end, but give me the signal to teleport her." As she trails behind the two, keeping a close eye on where those people are, she couldn't help but chuckle at Renar's worries in being unable to find, let alone regroup, at the church. "Oh, believe me: the destination where we're supposed to meet up is a lot more prominent; Unless if your eyesight is bad, you'll be able to spot cathedrals really easily."

You don't see the church anywhere, there are a lot of tall buildings that block the line of sight. They can't be that far away from you, if you need a backup in case the fight gets too out of hand, you can probably fire a spell in the sky and that would be enough to alert them.
You trail the hooded figures from far away, and eventually, they comes to a stop in a dark, narrow alley—and by narrow, they mean really narrow, only about 6 metres or 20 ft wide.
"Alright, everyone, their trial starts at 16:00, we need to stall them for as long as possible until someone breaks Cezars out of jail." One of the hooded figures crosses his arms and says. "Birute has failed her before, let that be an example."
The rest of the cloaked fellows nod in response, by the looks of it, they don't seem to be very enthusiastic or bloodthirsty at all, just bored and a little confused.
The hooded figure takes off his cloak, revealing a satyr. "Two of you stand guard on the west, two of you on the east. I'm not good at melee combat, so I'll stay in the centre. And remember—no witnesses."
The rest of the goons walk up to their designated positions. This will be hard, the alley is so narrow that sneaking by them is impossible, and none of you can get a proper line of sight of the goblin without being immediately spotted.
While waiting for the right moment to strike, you overhear some dialogue from the two goons closest to you. Both of them take their cloaks off, revealing a triton man and a fire Genasi woman, the latter of which doesn't seem to be related to Cezars or Adelaide.
"It's almost over, just six hours, and I'll finally save up enough to get myself a university degree."The triton waves to the fire Genasi and sighs. "I'm going to miss you guys a lot, and to be honest... I'm not sure if I can even return to this sort of lifestyle ever again."
"Yeah, most mercs don't have that much career choice for the future, unlike you, Ahti."The fire Genasi places her arm on his shoulder, seemingly unbothered by his naturally wet skin. "We have to save as much money as we can then disappear from the face of Lancea, away from the consequences of our actions. It's a vicious cycle, once you run out of money again, you'll have to start all of this over again, the other choices are being a criminal or being homeless."
"I just wish the good guys would pay as much as the shady guys in the mercenary industry, otherwise, I'd be a superhero by now."Ahti puts his hands in his pockets, "And it doesn't make sense why public universities care so much about the student image! I was a delinquent, I got in juvenile detention a few times, and so what!? You aren't just going to accept me because of some stupid stuff I did a few years ago!?" For context, all public universities are free in Arusa (Which is where Ahti came from, judging by his name and accent), but they tend to have strict entry requirements. Private universities are much more lax, but they're also much more expensive.
Judging by the description Janina gave you, Ahti must have been the one who broke her leg. It seems like he can be somewhat persuaded, though, but how you're going to do that is another question.

"The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference."
Liivi is a bit surprised when Valijs comments on Maya's speech. She supposes she has gotten used to her little moments speaking in her odd tongue. But this priest has not.
Now a bit on guard she tries to think of what to say. Maya fumbles her way through an explanation, though it does sound like she's truly just nervous. Alex seems to do a bit better in covering she hopes. In the end, the tabaxi decides to stay silent on the matter.
Hiding in plain sight from those goons, I realised that they've sort of prepared themselves for such scenarios like this, yet they don't seem like in the mood to fight. We can technically surprise them and try to take them down swiftly before things get out of hand, but if we can't then the numbers disadvantage as usual... plus the fact that they're actually trying to release Stupid Rixi so that he can go rogue again? There's a triton and a fire genasi; Rixi would've attempted to slaughter the former if he was here, but the latter? At least it's not him. Even so, I couldn't help but growl slightly as my respect for Lancean humanity plummets even more. It had been low ever since I arrived here, but as of now, I have zero respect for those who appear to go against the law like they have the authority to. They're no different to the bozos I face in Sword Coast and Japan...
"Those bakas!" I curse to myself, electricity surging from my clenched palms in anger. "Save as much money to disappear from this planet... They really are trying to stall us for time and put us at a disadvantage." Assessing the pathway that we're in, I had to think of another plan fast. "Stealth ain't an option anymore. It seems that they're sort of prepared." I note down in frustration. These guys are clever, choosing a narrow alley that will lessen the chances of an ambush. "The guy in the centre says he can't focus on melee combat though, so I can potentially cut him off suddenly." And I'd wish we can flank north or south, but after overhearing their tactics, I'm not so sure. I mean... the element of surprise is still an option but heavily favoured against in my eyes.
"I was thinking we can trick them into fighting each other using Shugo's illusion, but I don't think they'd be deceived that easily. Well, maybe you can deceive them; Conjure a picture of... um... that... fire guy..." I held myself back on saying Stupid Rixi to avoid confusion between the Lanceans. "Maybe trick them into thinking that he's been released early, then once they let their guard down, we grab her and get out of here fast; If we can, surprise attack them and give ourselves the advantage first. Unless if Mira-san has another way of distracting them without wasting spell slots." Even though this is indeed risky, we don't have a choice. It's either let them go or put an end to this and gain the upper hand.
I then curse myself again; I wanted to send a Message to the trio if they're still in range but I realized they're not around. Unless if I get closer to wall where they can see... which I can't. We need to enact this carefully; Whilst we can practically take on the guards two at a time, if all five of them somehow get engrossed in combat, I'd say we take out the guy in the centre first. "I've tried to send a message to the trio. If all else fails, I'll take the frontlines and distract them. Shugo and Mira-san. Give me the signal when you've successfully teleported her to safety, then we'll retreat swiftly, maybe use something as a flare for the other three."I squint at Mira-san for the money suggestion."Uh, no. Not a chance. I don't want them to take us for granted."
Held action and BA: Bladesinger and [spellMirror Image[/spell]; Renar will set up a new line of defense if the current plan of action fails.
Mira
Much to her frustration though whilst she too ducks out of sight from the guards, using Vortex Warp would require to have the lady in her line of vision, and with the guards in the way plus her short height, this currently isn't an option. "Those stupid, juvenile guards... they're blocking my line of sight! Unless if I try to teleport them away, I won't be able to reach her!" She hisses in disgust. "I could go up and try and deceive them on my end. Then again, if Shugo can conjure fake illusions to lure them away, it won't matter as much." Though wanting to provide a distraction, if she goes up close, she'd immediately be vulnerable to attack. She does have a spell that can trigger a distraction though, which is Alarm. But how they're gonna manually trigger it or use it to call their missing reinforcements is indeed a serious issue. Damn it. This is when suggestion could've came in handy, yet the future queen herself never picked up on it. Though, the other fire genasi and the triton did catch her eye for a while...
"I'm pretty sure someone warned us of a triton duo though. Could this man be one of them?" She mutters out of the blue. She's intrigued that they're doing Adelaide's duty only for the money because she envisioned them to be caught in something... dirtier. "Eh, regardless, if all else fails one of us can try and call backup. Whatever they say can and will be used against them just like now... Or... we can just bribe them with money. Sounds stupid, but maybe this is an option?"
For now though, Mira goes with the original plan and stays at the far back where she'll just be out of their sight, ready to teleport their victim towards her. Hey. What are you delinquents hiding out in the back of an alley like that, huh? Aren't we supposed to be, you know, cooperating instead of just hiding like cowards? What if you guys get zoned out by authorities again? You don't want our master to find out about it don't you? Sure If you guys wanna stall for time. I'll show how you can . But first... I ask that you hand over your victim to me, so I properly deal the 'justice' that he or she must deserve. Hand over your trophy so I can take care of the hard bits. Do that, and I'll tell you to protect... She rehearses this line in her head but falters shorts at the last sentence; in case they have to resort to their deception or full on assault tactics, she may as well play long range too. Hopefully whatever Shugo and Renar have concocted works in a way, even if they have to end up duelling.
"Solvega and Lorena are doing charity work at Varti, some parts of the city were heavily damaged by the recent cyclone. I heard that your dad might be coming to help too." Valijs smiles, flicking his tongue. "It's been a few months since you left home and he's missing you a lot."
"If you really want to get to Adelaide, you must get in Varkalu first. It's a duchy on the far east of Kerwos. Very shady place, every town and village there is half-abandoned and there are thieves everywhere. They aren't the 'I want your money' type of thieves, more like 'give us food and medicine and you can go' thieves. Make sure you have some supplies to spare." Valijs crosses his arms.
He looks to the side, "There is something more dangerous than thieves, though... It's bounty. If Adelaide places a bounty for you, everyone in Varkalu will come looking for you, people there really need money."Bounties only apply at a provincial level and not a national level, so they won't hunt you down as long as you don't step foot in the enemy's territory.
"But for now, let's focus on the present, we can worry about the future later."Valijs stretches himself, "Go meet with your friends, I'll follow you up later, I need a moment to don my armour." Valijs walks to the left door and exits the church.

"The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference."
"It appears then it is time for us to be off." Liivi looks at Valjis, giving him a polite nod. "It was a pleasure to have met you sir." She pauses, knowing that Alex is likely to wish to say a few more parting words than she had. To Maya she says softly, "I am sure you will be glad to be reunited with the others."
Once the trio is out of the church and headed to rendezvous with the others, the tabaxi would comment. "I hadn't thought that we would also need to confront this Adelaide. Though it seems we have a bit until we have to concern ourselves with that. But is it likely she woudl set a bounty on the group?" Having not really been involved with the earlier happenings with this group, she is not quite sure what the connection is to Adelaide.
Maya doesn't say anything as the trio leaves; There wasn't much info to gather on her side, other than the fact that they'll potentially be treading through another wretched town that might be out for money, which is something that she doesn't want to experience. As she leaves, the combined paranoia of Valijs plus wondering what the other three are up to was enough to quickly escape the church without even saying a word of thanks; She couldn't believe that she dodged two bullets.
Outside the church, she whips her head frantically in silence, though if Liivi or Alek listen in carefully despite the bustling crowd noises, they can hear fox like whimpers coming from her mouth. Even as Liivi attempts to reassure her, there's no telling what they've caught themselves in whilst they're away. "Boun... or not... can't her on... us three... yet. [Bounty or not, we can't take her on with us three. Yet.]"She mutters.

"That's good to hear!" Alex says, "I'm glad they're doing well... Oh Dad's there too? What about Mom..." He shakes his head, "As long as everything's alright. ...I miss them too."He smiles, "But I'm glad that I'm here still. I know things happen for a reason, so even though this trial and everything else that's going on is kinda scary I know it will all work out."
He nods when Valijs mentions Varkalu, "Okay, good to know. Maybe we can help some people while we are there..." He trails off at the mention of a bounty, "Yeah... yeah we probably already have one in that case. Unless she decides to wait and see what happens with this trial." He sighs, "But we'll manage, and you're right, we should focus on the present. Thanks!"
He waves as his mentor leaves, then turns to Liivi and Maya, "Alright, let's go find the others. I'm sure they're okay."He gives Maya a reassuring nudge, "They just went to the store after all, and we have to meet them there anyways so they should be waiting for us."
In response to Liivi he says, "Well... from what I understand she probably will, especially if we somehow manage to keep Cezars from getting out of prison. She's... well she's probably got a big role in this upcoming planetary war, if the war happens anyways. She's responsible for Cezars's actions, as well as Mira's kiddnapping, and some other really bad things too. We've just scratched the surface apparently, but... all in all, she's kinda the big bad right now."He can't help but smile slightly at the label, but it is kind of true. She's at the top of this pyramid of schemes, and right now is their most powerful adversary... assuming Paulis doesn't count too. "But we'll deal with that later... though, even if you decide to stick with us I hope we can keep your name and face a mystery to her. I don't want you to get caught up in this by association. My childhood friends Simo and Elsa, along with their party didn't want to get caught up in it since Adelaide is really really dangerous, so I don't want to drag you into it either." He's not trying to get her to leave the group, he's just saying that he wants to keep it a secret that she's with them if at all possible. If they can keep at least one member safe from a bounty then that would be great.
Shugo watches the group in disgust. No matter what they say or what reasons they have. Doing these things, especially what they did to Janina cannot be justified. Forgiveness is always an option, but that does not mean these people should just get away scott free. He'd been spot on about what these peoples actions were for, but despite his feelings towards them, their motives catch him slightly off guard.
He glances at Renar and Mira when they bring up his illusions and he shakes his head. "I can only make sounds or small objects. BUT I can probably still distract them. I can either pose as Cezars, or as Law enforcement.... Hmmm" He looks back at the group. Mira is probably right about that Triton, especially considering that the one who broke Janinia's leg is here. "I think I'll go with Law enforcement, that way if we need to show ourselves the illusion isn't totally broken."
With that, he focuses on the alley, and a voice calls out. "Over here! Those suspicious people ran that way!"
"Come on! They probably took her to use as a barganing chip for Cezars. TCH who are they even working for? GAH we can't let them get away with this, especially not after Cezars escaped. Move it men! Do you know how bad we'll look if we fail both these tasks!"
The sound of several footsteps echo outside the alleyway.
"Crap!"The two couples who were chatting earlier quickly stand guard, so those are the two hooded guys further back and the satyr in the middle.
They instinctively start backing down, and that's when Mira sees the unconscious goblin between the fire genasi and the triton's shoulders. She can teleport her now, but if her aim is off, she might end up with the wrong person. (Roll d20 with spellcasting modifier.)

Mira
"Atta boy, Sir Shugo!" She chuckles as she finally gets a clear line of sight of her target. At least until her head sort of fizzles out over one simple problem as her smile immediately fades. Crap. Mother did tell me not to go overboard... She quivers. But if I wait too long they... they might take off with her again... I can't just twin spell either as that would pull someone else closer to me... ah forget it! She ruses in her head before she silently waves her arms in a circle and attempts to teleport their target to safety (Subtle spell), before they deal with the hardest part of the entire schematic: The retreat. Stop! You violated the law!
(If Mira accidentally targets someone else other than her main target, DC 13 CON to not get teleported, unless if they choose to fail.) 18

While the mercenaries are panicking, Mira cleanly teleports the judge back to her position. She's still unconscious, which means someone might have to carry her back to safety.
After a while as Shugo's illusion dies down, the mercenaries look around, confused... then the realisation dawns upon them.
"They took the judge away from us, find them, wherever they are!" The satyr shouts, and the four other goons run out of the alley. It doesn't seem like they know where you are.
This city is really, really big. It might be easy hide, but it's also easy to get lost. You can either blend in with the crowd and slip away (Stealth check), or engage the mercenaries and end this once and for all. However, the latter option is quite risky, the hardest thing about combat in a city is someone might get hit by a stray spell or arrows.
OOC Note:
If you choose to engage the mercenaries or fail a stealth check, the three other people will get to join after 2 rounds of chase/combat. If you pass a stealth check, you'll rejoin the party.

Renar
I raise an eyebrow in curiosity as Mira actually locks on our target and pulls her right into our clutch. This is actually going a lot smoother than I thought; I was expecting the three of us to lock ourselves into conflict right off the bat. But still, another thing that crosses my perturbed anger is the profession of their victim. A judge. If this was the Sword Coast... or even Japan, they'd pay the price on the spot. But since this isn't either of the two realms I know, I couldn't do anything but grit my teeth as I struggle to keep myself from lashing out at them like the unstable fox spirit I once was for this treachery. Even so, I quickly snap back to reality when I realized that was only part 1; Part 2 is the difficult bit. I ruffle my fox ears slightly under my hood whilst the other two braces themselves to retreat. "If we get into combat, two of us stay behind whilst someone escapes with our victim to pick up reinforcements. Capturing a judge just to stall us... I've seen better days honestly." I snarl at myself. Without even hesitating, I help Shugo sling our victim over his shoulders and just in case, I hold my my Mirror Image again, all the while uttering one word of advice whilst our daring escape unfolds before our eyes:
"Run!"

Mira
After teleporting her target successfully much to her surprise, Mira immediately enters a state of distress especially when the guard realised their trick; They captured an actual judge?! She's so glad she did what's right; She'll definitely use their words against her, noted. "Gah-! Shugo! Cut her open now! And carefully! Do you have any other ways to make us cloaked?" She hisses; With a tiny body like hers, there's no way she can carry someone like that whilst still be fast and nimble. "Listen, lady, I... w-w-we're gonna get you out of here, but you need to trust us... Hey! Ugh... can you hear us?!" She panics before she curses in Lancean. "This is bad. She's not responding. We need to get out of here now if we want to pick up reinforcements!" Without hesitating, she follows behind Shugo and Renar, keeping an eye on the former to make sure either of them don't drop the person she teleported along the way. Then again, if Renar or Shugo want her to kill off her strength but guarantee the judge's safety, she could technically attempt the load herself whilst the two Prihyeh boys align their defenses, but it will definitely hinder her mobility if she does. (In doing so, Mira reclaims her spent sorcery point by burning off a 1st level spell slot, just in case.)
Converting a Spell Slot to Sorcery Points-As a bonus action on her turn, Mira can expend one spell slot and gain a number of sorcery points equal to the slot’s level.

Grinning when his ploy succeeds and Mira successfully teleports the judge to their location, he hurriedly picks up the goblin. Though his false sense of victory quickly dissipates upon hearing the kidnapper's voices. He doesn't hesitate when Renar says run. "No time Mira, being unbound won't help her if she gets taken again, and I doubt she can fight in this condition!" He races toward the direction in which he'd seen the other three leave. He may not know where they are, but they should be heading towards the shop at this point. They had said it would be the meeting place after all. He is also confident that he'd be able to re-locate the shop if need be. He risks a glance back at the other two. Leaving them behind to deal with the large group feels very wrong, but he knows they won't really have a choice if it comes down to it. Getting the judge to safety is what matters now. Plus he's sure she will be able to testify against those kids when the trial comes. Though at this point he's not sure if she'll be allowed to be the judge since she'll likely be biased against Cezars...even though he did accidentally stab her.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going?" The Satyr points to Shugo, it seems like you didn't hide well enough. "That's our paycheck, get him!"
About 90 metres or 300 feet away from you, you spotted the church from where you are right now, along with the rest of the three people you split up from earlier. The satyr and the rest of the hooded fellows are about 90 feet behind you, while the fire genasi and the triton duo from earlier are catching up on you at 60 feet. All of them seem to be focusing on Shugo and not anyone else.
For those at the church, you see the trio running away from a bunch of people... and Shugo has a goblin on his back, what were there up to when you weren't there?
"Coward! Come here! I want to fight you!" The fire genasi calls out from behind.
It's time to run.

Not only is that an innocent person being kidnapped, but she may have a role in our trial!" Shugo says mostly to Renar, "This could be Adalaide stalling for Cezars. If we don't do something, they could very well try to pin her kidnapping on us." He glances down the way they went, still not able to fathom how literally everyone in this city is so blind. "We could still catch up to them, but it wouldn't be safe to do that with just the three of us." He looks back at Renar, clearly hoping to be told what to do and still looking miserable from guilt.
Alex lets out a long breath, "Okay. That... thanks, that makes me feel a little better." He gives a smile.
"I... well... I'm not sure exactly." He looks to Maya.
If she's still free to do evil then nothing is going to change regardless of whether or not we win this trial," he unconsciously grips the hilt of his sword, staring off into the distance for a moment as if envisioning what they need to do. Then he shakes his head, bringing himself back to the present.
"Oh... I wanted to ask, how are Solvega and Lorena doing? Are... are they here?" He sounds hopeful, face reddening slightly as if embarrassed.
Renar

We could just play that part by ear since it sounds like we are splitting up." He looks between the others.
Renar
"I mean, I would like to lose them in the crowd, but if we can't find our way to wherever the other three are..." I stop there, thinking I would ened up saying something that would mostly likely anger these Lanceans.

To those waiting at Mira's shop:
Perception failed
"It's almost over, just six hours, and I'll finally save up enough to get myself a university degree." The triton waves to the fire Genasi and sighs. "I'm going to miss you guys a lot, and to be honest... I'm not sure if I can even return to this sort of lifestyle ever again."
"Yeah, most mercs don't have that much career choice for the future, unlike you, Ahti." The fire Genasi places her arm on his shoulder, seemingly unbothered by his naturally wet skin. "We have to save as much money as we can then disappear from the face of Lancea, away from the consequences of our actions. It's a vicious cycle, once you run out of money again, you'll have to start all of this over again, the other choices are being a criminal or being homeless."
"I just wish the good guys would pay as much as the shady guys in the mercenary industry, otherwise, I'd be a superhero by now." Ahti puts his hands in his pockets, "And it doesn't make sense why public universities care so much about the student image!

Give me the signal when you've successfully teleported her to safety, then we'll retreat swiftly, maybe use something as a flare for the other three." I squint at Mira-san for the money suggestion. "Uh, no.

To those at the church:
If Adelaide places a bounty for you, everyone in Varkalu will come looking for you, people there really need money." Bounties only apply at a provincial level and not a national level, so they won't hunt you down as long as you don't step foot in the enemy's territory.
"But for now, let's focus on the present, we can worry about the future later." Valijs stretches himself, "Go meet with your friends, I'll follow you up later, I need a moment to don my armour." Valijs walks to the left door and exits the church.

Yet.]" She mutters.

"That's good to hear!" Alex says, "I'm glad they're doing well... Oh Dad's there too? What about Mom..." He shakes his head, "As long as everything's alright. ...I miss them too." He smiles, "But I'm glad that I'm here still.
I'm sure they're okay." He gives Maya a reassuring nudge, "They just went to the store after all, and we have to meet them there anyways so they should be waiting for us."
We've just scratched the surface apparently, but... all in all, she's kinda the big bad right now." He can't help but smile slightly at the label, but it is kind of true.
To those waiting at Mira's shop:
"Crap!" The two couples who were chatting earlier quickly stand guard, so those are the two hooded guys further back and the satyr in the middle.

To those at Astra's shop:

"Run!"

Converting a Spell Slot to Sorcery Points- As a bonus action on her turn, Mira can expend one spell slot and gain a number of sorcery points equal to the slot’s level.
