Templeton looks at his cut, "Well I have seen better days but I don't believe this will hamper me too much for the moment. Let us save save the attention for a time of greater need."
Templeton will search the ruffians for sellable equipment and treasures. "This lot wore their allegiance outwardly and paid the price with their lives for some measly coins. Any of the rest of you lot with them or thinking of joining up? Best turn over a new leaf in life before you or yours ends up like them." Originally thinking of trying to find more hidden in the bars patrons, Templton decided to leave it as an opportunity to clean their act up as they didn't take the opportunity to assist the ruffians.
So, you head to Tresendar Manor without taking a short rest? Okay.
You get to the ruined house on the hill east of town. You find several tracks leading to a stone staircase off the large, ruined kitchen. At the bottom of the stairs is a door.
And, since he's learned False Life as an invocation and can cast it at will, Mayhew goes through the motions and gives himself 6 extra HP for the next hour.
Nari follows, being breezy in demeanor and movements while looking around for anything of note as they make their way through. ------------------------ Investigation: 16 Perception: 8 Stealth: 4
(Pip will remain in his bear form for as long as possible 1hour since we're not taking a short rest and I don't have any more charges currently.) Bear Pip follows the group closely, sniff around as he sees fit, but taking a back seat in any investigation..
The door opens onto a five-foot-wide landing that is fifteen feet above a large cellar, with stone steps descending to the floor in two short flights. Another door stands beneath the stairs to the north. A large stone cistern occupies the western part of the room, whose walls are lined with kegs and barrels.
Templeton will start checking barrels for traps or some some indication that they are linked wary of the barrels containing unwelcome surprises for intruders like them. If all seems clear he will attempt to peer in them (open if need be)
Templeton, as you begin moving the barrels, you notice a door in the wall to the west open.
Mayhew, you do not hear anything at the door to the north but you do hear the sound of men entering the room near where Templeton is investigating the barrels.
Nari, the cistern is filled with clean, cold, fresh water. You notice a rope attached to the south wall of the cistern.
A man in a red cloak comes bursting out of the door too the west as soon as Templeton moves a barrel near it. He approaches Templeton, and with a yell, he attacks the elf, hitting for 7 hp piercing damage.
Initiative order: Redbrand B, Mayhew, Templeton, Pip, Redbrand A, Nari, Redbrand C
Mayhew, you're up.

We're brave like that. We should probably approach the door with caution, though, and be on our guard for...well, guards, traps, etc.

You decide which, if any, of these apply, DM. :)
