Jodie nods, "Aye, let's head on. I can provide some cover- the harp is still bound to the weather." Jodie plucks a few low bass notes, "A fog will come and cover our tracks. There's a good chance the necromancer may use magic to look in on his follower..."
When the party is ready to move out, Jodie brings in a fog to cover the charred campsite and trail behind their march.
Tytus looks around nervously, he is very anxious about that whole situation. But can not figure out what he could do more to ease his mind. So he just goes with the flow of the team. Still invisible, he sees that no one took interest in the Sword so he picks it up, and becomes visible again before he approaches Sir Barnabas.
- We won't depend on you for safekeeping us while we rest, but you still should have your blade. /Tytus offers the moon touched rapier to Barnabas/
- I will try to get us some food before we go to sleep. /Rolling for survival to forage food and water (20+1=21), assuming my roll passed Tytus would find 3 pounds of food (4-1=3) and 4 gallons of water (5-1=4). That provides for 3 people worth of food and 4 people worth of water as per daily needs./

Flinn listens to the couple history and shakes his head.
"You couldn't know" he says putting a hand on Sir Swiftshield "don't be so hard on you. You kept her alive, and now you are free again. I think you two should keep your objects. I wouldn't feel good leaving you unarmed, even if we are together now it doesn't feel right... "he says looking to the others and speaking loud enough for them to hear him " You are too kind to offer them to us but we do not need any reward, we did what is just right... and we are more than satisfied to keep the cultists and bandits objects... right guys? We are more than covered in magic objects."
Everyone can notice that he said this in his own voice, but the sword gives a humming sound of satisfaction.
- Please, let's not forget that we are going to face many dangers and that we are still not that experienced - Rhaenys points out - I wouldn't discard this items when they've kindly been offered to us - and she thankfully nods to Barnabas and his protégée - as they can prove useful in our path. It will be better if Sir Barnabas is armed, of course. Good idea, Tytus.
"Thank you," he says with a small smile. "I suppose that you're right, it would make little sense to rely on a failed guardian for your safety. Still, I want to be of service and join one of you on watch tonight... it's the least I can do."
It sounds like the party is ready to move on. Will you set up a watch for the night, and if so, how are you going to set up the 'shifts'?

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Jodie volunteers to take a shift with someone with muscle, "Hey Flinn, I can be the eyes and ears and you can be the...arms. Other good 'eyes' are are Korba and Hewelathan, so if we get them buddies we have four 2-hour shifts."
"Very well," Sir Barnabas says with a smile to Tytus. "I accept your apology and am ready to serve at your side."
If you have decided to go with Jodie's shift division, I want each pair to have one person make a Perception check (with advantage presumably provided by their partner's help).

Tytus does not corrects Sir Barnabas that he was not apologizing, just admit that he did not behaved well. That is not the same thing, but if he feels that way, good. After all, it is not lie Tytus despised the man, he just did not trusted him. Tytus would use that time to chat with Sir Barnabas, standing beside him staring into horizon. Start lightly to ask about his regular duties, and his hometown. A little about some political personas that he knows. Share some off his experience in the big town (only the good ones to keep nice vibe off chatting). At some point Tytus would dwell back to his old question and ask: - So you met many interesting people in your life. Say again Sir Barnabas, you never met the woman who kidnapped you? You never saw her before somewhere? At a banquet maybe, or visiting Lady Elora? Maybe one of those other goons were playing cards with you at a tavern? All we know points to the conclusion that it was a robbery, but somehow you ended up tied to a tree. Why is that?
Perception roll: (15,1)-1=14 Rolling Intimidation (Were reading description for intimidation, persuasion and deception. This one seemed most relevant, but all of those are +3 for Tytus) for extracting any information about their connection to the cult: 9+3=12 /second roll 20+3 since forgot to roll with disadvantage so the 12 one goes/

Sir Barnabas considers the question for a few moments.
"My hope is that they simply realized we were wealthy and hoped to receive a sizeable ransom," he says, glancing at Lady Elora to make sure she is still entranced and not listening. "But... I fear that they may well have had a more sinister motive. If these people were connected to some kind of cult, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they saw milady as a worthy sacrifice for whatever abomination they worship..."
He visibly shudders at the thought.
"But that is only speculation. I won't discount the possibility that we may have encountered some of these bastards before, but if we did, I cannot for the life of me remember when or how such a meeting may have taken place."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ready for his shift, he turns to Rhaenys and says, "Funny they put us together. The changeling people don't trust because they can't know them, and the drow people don't trust because they do. Anyway, it's good to have company at night." Even at night Korba wears his dark glasses, seemingly unaffected by the dark.
When the rest are sleeping and Korba sits to speak with Rhaenys, the sorceress laughs and says:
- Hah! Funny indeed, now that you mention it - then pauses for a moment and adds - Gotta admit that in my case that definition hits the spot. I was the typical changeling everybody would warn about, and used my race's ability to deceive people and ... let's say ... acquire things that didn't belong to me. That's how I got this staff, and the curse that came with it. I've given much thought to all this since then, you know? How I am, how I was, and how I want to be after I'm rid of the curse. I want to believe that I can learn something from all of this. To be different. Better.
She seems to be lost in thoughts for a moment, and finally speaks again:
- Anyway. What about you? Have you been in the surface for long? Have you had much trouble because of your drow heritage?
“On the surface people are generally just wary and a bit untrusting, nothing too bad. I think the fear of drow stops them from acting up,”Korba says, pondering the question as he chews on a bit of dried meat for a snack. “Under the surface though it’s my human heritage which causes more problems. And that is the cause of the curse upon my sword. But it is my burden to bear, so I will do everything I can to keep it mine, and to fix it…”
- Oh. I see. If you don't mind my asking: what is the nature of you sword's curse? I'm not sure you've mentioned it, or perhaps you did and I didn't pay enough attention? Sorry, the last days have been quite strange, to say the least.
Rhaenys gives Korba time to answer, if he wishes to do it. Finally, she adds:
- Mixed heritages shouldn't be cause for trouble. I hope one day the world grows to be more open and understanding...
(OOC: I don't recall Korba explaining his curse, but if you did and I missed it, I can totally edit the post to fix it!)
On their watch Finn tries not to fall asleep and he is clearly uncomfortable in his armor, not really finding a position to sit, or rest, or stand so he finally sighs and walk a little bit around the perimeter trying not to make too much noise to wake the others.
( I am not sure about the perception roll... it says it is a 10 but if you mouseover it it says it is a 23... )
Jodie watches Flinn when it's their turn to watch, "You ought to get sleak armor like this elven chain. It's SO comfortable."
Somewhat awkwardly, Jodie changes topics. "So, your sword is into making things right?" She leans in a little closer and looks over at the stowed harp. "You know that Smiler carries a bag of soul coins. Nasty business, trapping a soul and using it as Hellish currency- even siphoning life from it. It's good to know I'm with the good guys." Jodie gives Flinn a long stare, then wink. She turns quickly and looks in a different direction, "I think I hear a bunny..."
Jodie trots off to the edge of their encampment with her newly acquired crossbow and bracers she's yet to learn have immediate benefit. (They just make her feel like an archer)
Jodie nods, "Aye, let's head on. I can provide some cover- the harp is still bound to the weather." Jodie plucks a few low bass notes, "A fog will come and cover our tracks. There's a good chance the necromancer may use magic to look in on his follower..."
