"Let's make them come to us," Theldrin says in a low tone to Avery as he and Syllen fall back after making their attacks.
Xanrym, huddled in the E-W hallway, agrees. But he suggests that Coriana targets the Ettercap: "Focus on the Ettercap! Once we've defeated that web-spinner, it'll be safer for me to blockade the hallway against those fanged abominations with my Cloud of Daggers."

The first Maw Demon takes a few hits. Avery nods at Xanrym's order and jumps over the grate while throwing a dagger at the Maw Demon's quite gracefully in his heavy armour.
The Maw Demon looks incredibly cut up at this point, and on it's turn disgorges a disgusting bubbling green vomit from it's mouth, trying to cover both Khessa and Coriana in the spew. The other demons crowd around the first and the Ettercap keep away from them. They all seem ready to fight IF someone gets into melee with them. Khessa and Coriana make DC 11 DEX Saves or take 13 Acid Damage
Khessa DEX Save: 17
Coriana DEX Save: 15
You all are up. The Maw Demon's crowd around the entrance of the doorway while the Ettercap stays to the back, trying to regain it's web on a 5-6: 2
Khessa, despite her heavy armor, gracefully side-steps and shields herself with the wall from the demon's disgusting acid vomit: "Nice try!" she then reappears in the doorway, winking at the monster. She has her Greatsword already in hand and brings the heavy blade down in a mighty slash from above towards the demon's collarbone.
'It looks sooo incredibly cut up at this point...' the blonde arcane warrior thinks 'This should really finish it!'

Round 1: Xanrym
(OOC: If Xanrym made it to his current position in the previous round, that means that he finished round 3 from the previous fight without dashing. In that case, he would have still been able to use a Magic action in the previous round to move the Cloud of Daggers farther north. It should be covering the starboard half of the trapdoor, leaving the port side of the hallway clear. He wanted it farther north as Khessa started messing with the webbed bundles so that it would be better positioned to use against the Ettercap while also giving the party members more room at the south end of the hallway. The party would have been able to move safely around the AoE since the hallway is basically 10-feet wide at that point. Beware: that also means that the spell is not blocking the doors at the south end of the hallway.)
Xanrym hoped that Khessa might find some captive sailors from the Emperor of the Waves. At worst, he thought that the bundles might be baby giant spiders who would emerge from the bundle hungry and looking for their first meal. He was not expecting these toothy abominations! Four of the them!
Xanrym moves to the end of the E-W hallway so that he can see north up to the door where the Ettercap went. He is horrified by the disgusting spew of acid from the demon. He's glad that neither Coriana nor Khessa were hit, but he hopes that Coriana takes her shot and falls back before the demons can get her. Since Khessa is currently their bulwark against the creatures, he shouts encouragement to her, "The spawn of the Spider Queen will learn to fear you, Khessa!" Then he moves back, out of sight of the demons and the Ettercap, as he gets out his crossbow.
Movement: Move about 10' east to peek around the corner up the hallway. Then, after he acts, fall back west all the way to the wall on the west (port) side of that hallway to make room for the others if they need to come this way. Bonus Action: Grant bardic inspiration to Khessa. Once within the next 1 hour when Khessa fails a D20 Test, she can roll a 1d6 and add the number rolled to the d20, possibly turning into a success. Action: Magic action to teleport 5-foot cube of Cloud of Daggers into the room to a position just west of the mast, right on top of that Maw Demon. That Maw Demon to the west of the mast takes damage: 11 (magical slashing) Note that any creature who enters or who ends its turn in the 5-ft cube AoE also takes the same damage: 11 (magical slashing). Free Action: Talking. Drop his torch and equip his crossbow.
Khessa's Greatsword Attack: 12 Damage: 10 (slashing) or 3 if missed, thanks to Graze property.
Given Xanrym's Bardic Inspiration, if the attack above is a miss and the graze does not suffice to kill the demon, Khessa will use the d6 to try to turn the miss into a hit.

Theldrin reloads his crossbow, then if he can get a good view of it he takes a shot at the demon in the doorway before moving up to join Xanrym in the side hallway.
(Because Xanrym took his turn after Khessa, i'd say she can't use the Bardic Inspiration on her turn.) Khessa grazes the Maw Demon on her turn, and Theldrin puts the creature down with his crossbow, while Xanrym throws the Cloud of Daggers into the room, severely cutting up the Demon to the west. Syllen's spells also hit the westward Maw Demon, now even more injured.
Coriana and Avery are still up. The pathway into the room is now open as the first Maw Demon has dropped. (I know both players are out for a little while, but i'll give them a full 24 hours before I take their turns for them. They'll basically act as NPCs if I control them, taking Attack's or casting Cantrips as a base manoeuvre, and taking orders from the rest of you when they can.)
[[ OOC: Ok, saving the Bardic Inspiration for later then! ]]
Khessa, still painfully unaccostumed to fight on the unsteady surface of a ship, just grazes the demon... but Xanrym's words once again fill her souls, fueling her confidence... and her resolve: 'Yes, my friend...' she thinks 'learn they will!'
[[ OOC: Ok, saving the Bardic Inspiration for later then! ]]
(OOC: That's good. I granted that bardic inspiration thinking that Khessa would be in range the next time one of the demons "disgorges a disgusting bubbling green vomit." She has the worst DEX saving throw in the party, and using the bardic inspiration to get over the DC 11 makes a lot of sense since it looks like you take no damage on a successful save.)
Coriana blasts away one of the Maw Demons as Avery runs into the room and attacks another. On the enemy's turn, first the Ettercap rolls to see if it regains it's Web ability on a 5-6: 6

Attack: 10 Damage: 9
If needed, the Bardic Inspiration's d6 is: 2 ==> so the AC hit is 14
Syllen looks at Coriana and will switch places with her if possible.
“Coriana, switch places with me.”
Syllen will use his crossbow and attack the Maw Demon.
True Strike Hit: 21 Damage: 9 Radiant

Coriana will approach the doorway but not enter the room. She hexes the western demon, and strikes out with an Eldritch Blast.
