Xanrym's Silence goes off and the two drow look at each other in confusion as their cackling suddenly stops. Then Syllen and Theldrin's spells go off and the matron points and silently yells at the intruders in her sanctum. Khessa's Witch Bolt hits and she runs into the room, while Avery rushes past her and stops at the edge of the vines and webbing that now cover the drow. Coriana steps in front of the altar and throws two blasts at the matron, the second one hitting her as well.
Both drow see the danger they're in and close their eyes, trying to reach out to Lolth to send aid via Summon Demon. Ellesarwa succeeds on a 1-30, while Muvaysil succeeds on 1-50:
Ellesarwa takes 3 Psychic damage, clearly Lolth isn't as happy with her as she is with Muvaysil, who summons a Shadow Demon to attack Syllen from behind. At that same time, you look up to see two Giant Spiders sitting over both entrances to the room, who Ellesarwa directs to attack Theldrin and Xanrym. They scamper across the roof and attack the bard and wizard from above.
Umbral Claw against Syllen Attack: 24 Damage: 9 Psychic Damage
Bite against Xanrym Attack: 20 Damage: 7 Piercing plus 7 Poison
Bite against Theldrin Attack: 17 Damage: 7 Piercing plus 8 Poison
Xanrym cries out as the giant spider bites him. "Ahh! Spiders! Why is it always spiders?!", he shouts in surprise and frustration. Thankfully, Xanrym has some experience with giant spiders, and he is able to maintain concentration on his spell. Tapping an uneven rhythm on his drum, Xanrym casts a spell on the giant spider, trying to drive it away from him. (If it moves away, then Xanrym will also move away so that it cannot get right back to him easily.
Knowing that it's important to keep the Drow within the zone of [spells]Silence[/spell], Xanrym given encouragement to Syllen: "Good job, Syllen! Just hold on a little while so that we can finish off these vile torturers." He figures that they'll have more trouble escaping Syllen's spell than Theldrin's web.
Xanrym also warns Theldrin, "They have a prisoner on the altar, Theldrin. Be careful with your battle magic."
Action: Cast spell (LVL 1 slot) Dissonant Whispers on the Giant Spider near him The giant spider must make a WIS 16 save or take 11 psychic damage and immediately use its reaction to safely move as far as its speed allows away from Xanrym. On a successful save: 5.5 psychic damage and no forced movement. Movement: If his spell drove the giant spider away, Xanrym will move south to the southwest corner of the room (10-ft west of where Theldrin was). He's trying to ensure that the spider cannot get to him without passing Khessa. He knows that he'll be grouped up with the others, but he just hopes that the Drow don't have a way to affect them all while they're silenced. Bonus Action: Grant bardic inspiration to Syllen Once within the next 1 hour when Syllen fails a D20 Test, he can roll a 1d8 and add the number rolled to the d20, possibly turning failure into a success. Free Action: Talking
(OOC: Xanrym is hoping that his spell forces the giant spider to move past Avery and/or Khessa, possibly permitting them to hit it with an opportunity attack if the ceilings aren't too high.)
(OOC: Theldrin's AC is 18 when he has Mage Armor active. Also just in case, he has the War Caster feat... I never trust the tooltips for the forum dice roller so not sure if that was factored in)
Theldrin shrugs off the spider attack for the moment, aiming a Lightning Bolt at Ellesarwa (assuming it's unlikely he could line up the wizard as well, and he will use Sculpt Spells to protect any of the prisoner that might be caught in the effect.)
[[ OOC: Hmmm... The Matron is both Restrained and Silenced... but can she still give orders to her spiders? Is that really the case? Or do the spiders, seeing her in danger, act on their own? Anyway, OK, it doesn't make much difference after all. ]]
Khessa is annoyed that the two drow, despite being unable to move freely or speak, managed to summon so many allies to join the fray... but that doesn't change her mind one bit: the Matron is in charge. She must be the first to die. Afterward, perhaps the rest of the forces can be forced to surrender. But first, she must be removed.
As the previously created arc of electricity continues to shoot from her to the priestess of Lolth, electrocuting her, the blonde arcane warrior stays clear of the tangle of vegetation and cobwebs, delivering quick thrusts with her long Pike.
(assuming it's unlikely he could line up the wizard as well, and he will use Sculpt Spells to protect any of the prisoner that might be caught in the effect.)
(OOC: Not sure what the rules are for a Line AoE. If you want to hit two opponents, it might be possible for Theldrin to move back into the secret tunnel -- it's a little hard to tell whether the spider is actually blocking the secret doorway. If he does that, he could hit both the giant spider and Ellesarwa with Lightning Bolt, but then he would be walking right into the Shadow Demon's reach. Of course, I don't know whether anyone other than Syllen knows about the Shadow Demon yet.)

I did take into account War Caster, but didn't realize Theldrin's AC was 18, so obviously ignore any hit below that.
