Xanrym agrees with the Long Rest, but if they're going to pass the night in the Necromancer's Spike, he thinks that The Company should spend some more time exploring the library level first.
Alright so going back down to the level below it is. You all head back down the surprisingly long staircase to the level you fought the living spells. There’s a door leading north from the study you are in, and you also would recall another door leading east in the next room. Neither have been opened in a very very long time.

Before The Company went upstairs to the Hall of Mirrors, Theldrin also found the two secret doors that lead west from the library and the smaller office south of it. Xanrymwas interested in trying one of those secret doors first since we've had such good luck so far with following the route of the secret doors and tunnels through the Necromancer's Spike.
And if we start there, we may want to open the secret door with minimal lighting (e.g., Xanrym will douse his lantern and light a candle instead) so that Syllen or maybe Khessa's familiar Anator can check out what's on the other side without casting too much light into the room or hallway beyond. As Xanrym showed with his map, if the hazardous stairs are as long as the stairs between the library and the Hall of Mirrors, it's possible that Fadheela's lair is somewhere just west and south of the library. We wouldn't want to alert her to our presence. (Xanrym says that he personally thinks that it's more likely that there's a "hidden" level in between the library and the level with the Hall of Mirrors, but it's best to be cautious!)
Xanrym suggests starting with the secret door from the library. "That way, if there are any more of Maroe's guardians beyond, we won't be as confined as we would be in the study, and we could always retreat back upstairs, forcing them to come at us one-at-a-time."
(OOC: I pointed out the location of the Secret Door with a yellow arrow and also rearranged The Company to put Syllen, Khessa, and Avery closest to the door.)
Khessa supports the Company's plans as best she can - and opens the secret door ajar, letting Anator fly in, at ceiling height, to check out what's inside.
You open up the secret door in the room you’re in, and enter a narrow hallway leading north south. You see to the south the hallway curves around to the east, presumably to the other secret door you’ve found already. Another alcove comes off the east side of the hallway a little to the north, after that a set of steps that drops the hallway down a little going further north into darkness.
Khessa leads the way and verifies that the south hallway actually connects only to the other secret door. If so, she proceeds along the unexplored path, the alcove...
While Khessais verifying that the alcove to their south just leads to the secret door to the little office where they found the scrolls, Xanrym lights his Bullseye Lantern. There's no worry about the light giving them away if they're just in another one of Maroe's secret hallways. As The Company reorders and heads back to the north from the study, Xanrym will helpTheldrin search the southeast corner of this tunnel for secret doors. He says, "If Fadheela's lair is on this level, it should be to our south or east. I wouldn't want her to sneak through a secret door and sneak up behind me when we head back up this hall." (to the north)
(OOC: FYI - I moved and reordered the tokens to show The Company coming back from the southern end of the tunnel. Once we're done checking the southern end of the hall for secret doors, Xanrym will let Theldrin pass him so that Xanrym is walking rear guard.)
Back down to library level to search for more items before a Long Rest. Possible Random Encounter, then Fadheela.
Theldrin votes for Library - Long Rest - Fadheela.
Khessa long rest + Fadhela (I had already upvoted the corresponding post)
Avery will agree with the party and search the library next

Theldrin likes the idea of seeing what's behind the two secret doors he found.

Avery prepares for any surprises
Happy New Year everyone!

Theldrin follows Khessa, keeping towards the middle of the group if possible.
(OOC: Good to be back! Happy Holidays.)
Syllen will stay in the middle also and keep an eye out for anything. If Khessa no longer has Detect Magic up Syllen will use his one free casting.

Theldrin keeps a Light spell on his staff as he works with Xanrym to search for secret doors.
Investigation (with Advantage): 23
(Yes great to be back!)
Khessa sees that the alcove contains the back of a secret door. And as she walks down the hall, she sees that it ends in another one.
Khessa then opens the secret door that leads to the unknown destination, ready for anything.
