Coriana drops the torch and its sputters out. She rushes in, a blast of black and deep sea green energy streaming from her sword into the horror. Her blade is glowing with the same energy as she slashes into it.

"What next..." Theldrin mutters with revulsion as he sees the spider-like monstrosity drop from the ceiling. He sends three rays of fire aimed at its several eyes.
(OOC:Syllen put away his shield when he was looking around the deck so his AC is 17.)
Syllen holds on to his scrolls as he sees more spiders coming.
“It seems like we have more friends coming our way!”
Syllen will cast Entangle on the Choldrin(DC 14 Str), he will try to hit Spider Swarms also if possible. The area around the creature s are difficult terrain. Followed by attacking with his Luminous Arrow.
BA Attack:11(crit if advantage) Damage:6(12 if advantage) radiant
And is able to resist the plants that suddenly grow from the deck of the ship. Syllen's Luminous Arrow misses, as do two of Theldrin's Scorching Rays. The Choldrith slashes out at Coriana, while at the same time, a Spectral Dagger that look exactly the same appears and stabs at Syllen. The Choldrith hisses something in Undercommon (Does anyone understand that language?)
Dagger against Coriana: Attack: 12 Damage: 5 Piercing and 15 Poison
Spectral Dagger against Sylen Attack: 15 Damage: 7 Force
Group 3 is up, The Choldrin is able to attack both Coriana and Syllen at once with it's Spectral Dagger, and the swarms of spiders are racing up the stairs.
If so, Xanrym will let Theldrin's Mage Hand take the torch, and then he'll go ahead and get another one of Aubrek's torches from Khessa's backpack and use Prestidigitation to light it.
To be clear, once Xanrym lights an extra torch for himself, he puts that torch in the pinrail. Then he'll load a bolt into his crossbow and get ready to fire into the room as soon as the mage hands and their torches reveal any more monstrous spiders.
(OOC: Was Xanrym was able to fire off a readied action from the previous round as soon as he saw the Choldrith appear?)
“It’s fun to be up here alone in the face of another monstrous spider-beast about to be enveloped in the spider swarms coming up the stairs.”, thought Coriana…

Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain Thelanis - Darkness Below: Kholias Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards. DM - The Old Keep
Xanrym isn't well-positioned enough to attack anything other than the Choldrith, so he simply fires another crossbow bolt at it. If the Company can kill that creature quickly, even a great swarm of normal-sized spiders should be easy to handle. He says, "Avery, Khessa, if you can help Coriana with that monstrous spider, we'll try to do something about all those other spiders." He also tries to boost Khessa's confidence, saying, "Khessa, seize this opportunity to strike another blow against the agents of your sworn enemy!"
Once he does that, Xanrym grabs his torch from the pinrail and moves up next to the door (to the starboard side of Khessa's current position, if possible).
Movement: Move to get his torch and then move to a spot beside the door (without going into the room). Action: Cast a spell True Strike with Attack, Crossbow, Light (80/320): 17, Damage: 5 (radiant) Bonus Action: Grant bardic inspiration to Khessa Once within the next 1 hour when Khessa fails a D20 Test, she can roll a 1d6 and add the number rolled to the d20, possibly turning into a success. Free Action: Talking, Object interaction: picking up his Torch
Khessa hears Xanrym's exhortation with her heart almost before her ears! Blue eyes aglow with revenge against Lolth's forces, she lunges at the monstrous arachnid, holding the Greatsword high above her head and bringing it down in a deceptive slash that curves to seek the creature's belly...
Both Xanrym and Khessa's attacks hit their target, and the Choldrith is looking pretty hurt now. The spiders come up the stairs, half heading toward Khessa and Coriana, while the other half swarm toward Avery and Theldrin near the door:
Bites against Khessa Attack: 8 Damage: 3 Poison
Bites against Coriana Attack: 8 Damage: 9 Poison
Bites against Avery Attack: 11 Damage: 5 Poison
Bites against Theldrin Attack: 10 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. Poison

Avery prepares for the fight, grumbling about "bloody spiders," as he prepares to back Khessa.
Round 1
Khessa hears Xanrym's exhortation with her heart almost before her ears! Blue eyes aglow with revenge against Lolth's forces, she lunges at the monstrous arachnid, holding the Greatsword high above her head and bringing it down in a deceptive slash that curves to seek the creature's belly...

Khessa, in her shining armor, barely notices the disgusting little vermin that try in vain to find a way through the metal plates.
'It is going down!' the blonde arcane warrior thinks, seeing the monstrous arachnid pretty hurt 'It will soon bite the dust!'
Avery attacks the spiders in front of him: attack 20, damage 8
