(I missed Coriana's turn, which I guess could instead be directed at Krell seeing as how her Giant Spider went down from the Guiding Bolt.) Krell tries to clap Avery across the head, yet still at Disadvantage.
Spider Staff 1 against Avery Attack: 17 Damage: 7 Bludgeoning plus 2 Poison
Spider Staff 2 against Avery Attack: 12 Damage: 10 Bludgeoning plus 2 Poison.
You all are up. Theldrin and Khessa tackle the Giant Spider, which is looking pretty beat now. Xanrym is struggling with the Phase Spider in the next room, while Avery fights with the Blinded and Silenced Druid.
Khessa is a little worried about Xanrym, who is facing a dangerous opponent alone, but she is relieved that Lolth's forces are being decimated!
'One last strike should be enough for Mr Web Spinner here...' the blonde arcane warrior thinks, preparing to feint high and then land a decisive blow on the legs of the spider in front of her. 'Then I will go help Xanrym while the others surround and slaughter Krell.'
[[ OOC: Khessa attacks the spider she is in melee with, because otherwise she would incur an Attack of Opportunity in going to help the bard... that enemy must be eliminated. ]]
Khessa's Greatsword Attack: 17 Damage: 13 (slashing) or 3 if missed, thanks to Graze property.
[[ OOC: Since the spider was 'looking pretty beat' I assume it has been killed. I'll modify the post if I'm wrong. ]]
The feint fools the spider, who was already exhausted, and the massive blade severs one of its legs, finishing it off.
The tall adventuress wastes no time and runs to the bard's side: "I thought you wanted better company than that," she winks, while nodding towards the spider he is fighting "Xanrym! So, here I am!"
The long blade still dripping with spider ichor is now pointed towards the new arachnid opponent...
(I missed Coriana's turn, which I guess could instead be directed at Krell seeing as how her Giant Spider went down from the Guiding Bolt.)
(OOC: Note - if Coriana's attacks were made against Krell, @Charwoman_Gene should get an extra attack roll for each one. Since Krell was blinded, all attacks against him should have advantage. That could turn a miss into a hit, and I'd love to see us put down Krell quickly.
Speaking of which, don't forget that Krell gets to make a CON save at the end of each of his turns to throw off the Blindness spell.)
[[Here's the thing, Coriana would not have attacked Krell if the Giant Spider went down that easily, she would have attacked the other giant spider, not summoned her tentacle. And now Khessa may have killed that spider. I understand timing is tricky when dealing with 6 players in play by post, but I am EXTREMELY frustrated. Can the following have been my retroactive missed round? It is way less optimal than what should have happened but I just want to move past this.]]

Xanrym: Round 3
After spearing the Phase Spider, Xanrym nimbly ducks out of the way of its fangs, but he nearly gets caught up by its legs and struck by its next bite. He was not expecting the spider to adjust so quickly and try to sink its fangs into the back of his neck! Xanrym considers his options, but he cannot tell how the rest of the Company is doing with the fight against Krell because he's still suppressing all sound in that room. Just as he starts to eye the door, thinking about leading the spider out into the hallway where the rest of the Company could help fight it, he sees Khessa stride into the room! In response to her words, Xanrym jests, "The next time a spider invites me to its parlor, remind me to decline, Khessa!", but his light tone is at odds with his face and its expression of palpable relief at Khessa's arrival.
Movement: None. Xanrym remains where he is, more confident in victory now that Khessa is with him. Action: Action: Cast a spell True Strike with Attack the Phase Spider, Spear (two-handed): 14, Damage: 5 (radiant) Free Action: Talking.
Seeing the giant spider fall Theldrin give's Khessa a nod as she rushes to Xanrym's aid. He then turns his attention back to Krell, eyes narrowing with intense focus as he targets the half-orc with rays of fire emanating from his fingertips.
Seeing that Xanrym is holding his own and has help now, Syllen will focus on Krell. Grabbing the scrolls at his side he forms radiant energy in his hand and launches it at Krell followed by sending healing energy to Avery.
(Happy to retcon Coriana's turn.) Coriana and Theldrin's onslaught blow Krell back against the wall, dead. Syllen's Guiding Bolt would then be aimed at the Phase Spider, which is now looking far worse off than it was before. Avery is still up, he sees Krell killed before him, but cannot hear much else of what is happening around him.
[[ OOC: Well, if Khessa comes along and sees the Phase Spider 'far worse off than it was before'... I hope the DM won't mind letting her use Action Surge to try and finish it off! I'm posting as if I could... If the DM decides not to allow it I'll delete the post/s, no problem ]]
After exchanging jokes with Xanrym, Khessa focuses on the spider and, seeing it on the verge of being defeated... she attempts a quick and sudden lunge with the massive blade, hoping to finish it off!
(OOC: @Painted_Beyond - Depending on the sequencing, if Syllen's Guiding Bolt hit the Phase Spider and then Khessa used Action Surge to attack, the attack would be made with advantage.)
(OOC: I'm fine if you want to wait for @Aaggie to get back and post. On the other hand, Avery can't fit in the room with Khessa and Theldrin, so I don't think that Avery will be able to help against the Phase Spider this round. It's probably fine if you want to post the Phase Spider's turn, so that we can start thinking about our actions for the end of round 3 / start of round 4.)
Avery gets as close as he can to throw a dagger at the Phase Spider but the throwing knife doesn’t hit its mark. As Krell is killed, Xanrym sees the spiders eyes switch over to a similar translucent blue to its body as it peers into the Etherial Plane to see its master die. For a moment you almost see a twinge of sadness in the beast. Then it attacks you with a shocking intensity before it uses its bonus action to fade away back into the Etherial.
Bite 1 against Xanrym Attack: 13 Damage: 6 Piercing plus 9 Poison. If this damage reduces the target to 0 Hit Points, the target becomes Stable, and it has the Poisonedcondition for 1 hour. While Poisoned, the target also has the Paralyzed condition.
Bite 2 against Xanrym Attack: 19 Damage: 7 Piercing plus 16 Poison. If this damage reduces the target to 0 Hit Points, the target becomes Stable, and it has the Poisonedcondition for 1 hour. While Poisoned, the target also has the Paralyzed condition.
With Krell and the other spiders dead and the Phase Spider retreated to the Etherial Plane, I’d say this battle is over. Unless someone has a way of attacking into the Etherial.
