Theldrin curses as he sees both Avery and Coriana fall. He considers moving up to administer a healing potion but isn't sure how to get to his friends without incurring attacks from the surrounding Kua-Toa. Needing to make a quick decision, he aims a Magic Missile burst at the remaining Monitor.

Round 4: Xanrym
Seeing Avery cut down by the Kuo-Toa Monitor and then Coriana get hit by the priest's lightning, Xanrym gasps, "Oh no!" Since Syllen already revived Avery, he quickly heals Coriana, hoping that she can either get to safety or perhaps play dead for a moment until the enemies pass her by. He shouts advice to the others, "Move to the side. Get out of view of the tunnel and that lightning!"
(@drumdigby - I've lost track of how injured the 2nd Kuo-Toa Monitor is. If it's looking barely bloodied, he assumes that he cannot finish it off quickly, and he'll use Vicious Mockery against it. If it's looking very badly injured, i.e. taken 45+ HP of damage, he'll try to finish it off with his crossbow.)
Movement: None. Xanrym holds his position this round, trusting that the priest cannot see him yet and Khessa will prevent the other Kuo-Toa from getting to him. Bonus Action: Cast spell (LVL 1 slot) Healing Word on Coriana, Healing: 9 Action: (See note above.) Depending on the Kuo-Toa Monitor's status, either Cast spell Vicious Mockery at the Kuo-Toa Monitor, yelling, "You know that 'fish out of water' is a bad thing, right?" WIS 16 save or Monitor takes 7 (psychic) damage and has disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn. OR Cast a spell True Strike with Attack Kuo-Toa Monitor, Crossbow, Light (80/320): 9, Damage: 6 (piercing) + 8 (radiant) = 14 (total) Free Action: Talking.
Bardic Inspiration: Khessa still has bardic inspiration (1d8) from Xanrym Once within the next 1 hour when she fails a D20 Test, she can roll the bardic inspiration die and add the number rolled to the d20, possibly turning failure into a success.
Khessa is able to just graze the Monitor, but it puts the monster in a position for Syllen and Theldrin's spells to hit it. The Monitor makes a DC 16 WIS Save to resist Xanrym's spell: 3 . And yes, as he was immediately healed, Avery can still make his turn this round.
Avery gets up and makes two strikes at the Monitor, the first one slicing into the beast, who stumbles, causing the second strike to miss. Now the summoned beasts attack the Kuo-Toa
And the woves tear apart the Monitor, it's fishy guts spilling onto the paves of the gatehouse. The Kuo-Toa priest looks shocked at the death of his champions, he steps to the east and tries to knock the two Kuo-Toa in the Hypnotic Pattern out of their stupor:
Both Kuo-Toa are knocked out of their stupor, and the priest orders them to retreat. He then turns to his remaining guard, "Keep them at bay! The Blueknight will avenge you I promise." The priest then turns around and unceremoniously runs away. The remaining Kuo-Toa look at each other with giant eyes, and scream a zealotous warcry as they strike out with their pincer spears:
Kuo-Toa 1 Spear against Khessa Attack: 19 Damage: 3 Piercing
Kuo-Toa 2 Spear against Khessa Attack: 7 Damage: 2 Piercing
Kuo-Toa 3 Spear against Coriana Attack: 9 Damage: 2 Piercing
You all are up. The remaining Kuo-Toa fight on as their leader retreats, and they do not look good.
Seeing as they are still stabbing at her while she is down, Coriana downs a greater healing potion, then stands up, ready to fight. (Healed for 13, at 22 hp, so not too bad)
(OOC: @Charwoman_Gene - I think that Coriana can still take an action after drinking the potion. I think that we're mostly following the 2024 rules now, and the DMG says:
Using a Potion. Potions are consumable items. Drinking a potion or administering it to another creature requires a Bonus Action. Applying an oil might take longer as specified in its description. Once used, a potion takes effect immediately, and it is used up.
And IIRC, I think that @drumdigby had previously ruled that we could consume a potion using only a Bonus Action even before the 2024 rules came out.)
Khessa barely feels the spearhead slipping through a gap in her armor plates and pricking her flesh—she's far more worried that a witness is fleeing and might thus turn an entire faction of the city against her and her fellow adventurers!
The blonde (and still blurry) arcane warrior unleashes the blade of her magical Greatsword in a swift diagonal slash, before the Kuo-Toa who stung her with the spear can return the weapon to its guard position to parry.

You all finish off the remaining Kuo-Toa. The battle is over, you stand at the gatehouse, the entrance to Pedestal. Kuo-Toa bodies lie on the ground around you.
Khessa examines Coriana and Avery's wounds: "How are you, my friends? Can you move quickly? We'd better get out of here before more appear—and first find a place to recover."
The blonde arcane warrior is ready to lead the way inside—and to the nearest inn!
Xanrym was hanging back, west of the tunnel, hiding from the Kuo-Toa priest's lightning and keeping the other Kuo-Toa guards hypnotized. When the fight started, Xanrym also had to drop concentration on Comprehend Languages, so anything that the Kuo-Toa said since they attacked has been unintelligible to him. Once the fight is truly over, Xanrym creeps forward cautiously to stand next to Khessa and the pile of ruined Kuo-Toa bodies in front of her. He looks up the tunnel to confirm that there are no remaining hypnotized Kuo-Toa before he drops his concentration on that spell.
Xanrym looks at Coriana and grimaces at her wounds, partially healed though they are. He apologizes: "I'm sorry, Coriana. It was my suggestion that tipped off the fight. I thought that Es Sarch was a neutral player, and I didn't consider that he might be a mortal enemy of these fish people!"
More generally, to the whole group, Xanrym says, "It seems that this faction -- The Inheritors," gesturing to the bodies of the Kuo-Toa, "oppose whichever faction Es Sarch supports. The other two factions that Bruthwol mentioned were the Assassin's Guild and House Dusklorn. He said that the Inheritors claim to fight for a Pedestal that is free of drow and assassin control. That makes it sound like House Dusklorn is probably the main drow faction, unless the drow make up the Assassin's Guild." He nudges one of the dead Kuo-Toa with his boot and says with a deep sigh, "It's too bad because I'd rather ally with the Inheritors than with the drow or assassins. I wonder what compromises we'll have to make to secure Es Sarch's assistance in finding the lost king's bones."
Then Xanrym snaps into focus on their current situation. Assuming that the escaped priest may return with more guards, he suggests going through the gatehouse tunnel and into Pedestal immediately and without a rest. But he doesn't make any move to go into the tunnel yet until he hears what the others have to say. If The Company can make it to the Dripstone Inn, they can hopefully get a good night's sleep. Burthwol said that the Street of the Five Hanged and inn were just 3 blocks north of the southern gate.
Xanrym peers north up the tunnel, looking for signs of movement or other dangers. Perception: 18
