I step forward a bit. “So were gettting paid right? Then we can leave?” I look back at the group. “Seems fair to me.” 

Onyx chuckles as he sees pavla being tossed back outside the house, "Guess there not too fond of pets." I take a look around to see if any other guards are coming towards the house as a few minutes has passed with no sign of the others. 

Perception: 6

"So... you wanted your own daughter slaughtered? that's odd and puts us in an akward position, doesn't it? If you are... commited to this endeavour I could take care of it in a more... civilized way"

"Did you not read the task? It was to attack a caravan. Any caravan was fine, since I could use the incident to increase the taxes. And again, I was not expecting my daughter to come back so soon from her trip."

Holissa

Holissa who'd watched this exchange silently, speaks up.  "Well then it seems you have a vested interest in hurting trade into the city,  obviously we've proven quite good at it.  Perhaps it's time to cut out the middle man, after all, we could make things a little less random this way.  that is, if your plans are bigger than just a caravan here and there,  if that's all you want, any number of petty thugs can accomplish that task."

"My interest lies in financing myself more. And the reason for the randomness, is for so. Random gives no cause for the guards to look into it. A routine attack causes suspicion. And my plans are not for you to know. Me talking to you all is a courtesy of sparing my daughter. And you all are just petty thugs."

Onyx turns to Hardal..."So what do you thinks going on in there? Haven't seen much movement through the windows." Looking at Pavla the cat. "Think you could sneak around the house and if you can see whats going on?" He'll take another look around to see if any more guards are closing in on their position.

No guards are near the estate. Its mostly guarded by mercenaries, currently walking the grounds. They ignore the carriage as they saw the lady of the house exit from it.

Hardal replies back to Onyx's query.

"Us coming to this tax collector's house was just to earn extra gold. What we have now are these jewels you found back at the caravan.

Others have found use of the slaves they freed but the agreement was for me to split what we got. We will have to find a broker to exchange these luxuries for gold, after that we can split the spoils and start a new job."

Holissa

She just smiles at him when he calls them petty criminals.  She motions she's ready to go to the others.

Pavla shifts back into human form.

"I already tried sneaking in once with no luck. Not going to risk being kicked by angry guards."

"*****..." Onyx says. Then quickly adds "cats get kicked all the time I could see how you wouldn't want to take that chance." And chuckles to his little joke for his own amusement. 

"WELP... maybe their dead in there, what say we give it another 5 or 10 min before heading out? We have this nice cart some gems, and could always go back for another task. Eventhough this is fun just sitting out here in the open I'd rather be somewhere else rather inconspicuous." 

Pavla looks at Onyx for a moment, tilting their head to the left just a bit, then nods.

 “I see... then it was fortunate that we tried to be.. creative. The caravan was destroyed thoug. So I guess you can raise the taxes anyway, with the bonus that you didn’t... lose anything in the process. So I guess we are still due to payment “

He retires with a nod and leaves the room and rejoins the others outside. 

“Well, it wassn’t went ass exxpected “ he says once they are alone, and tells the others what happened.

”We sshould go for our payment and proceed to another tassk”

Hollisa

Holissa looks back at the house, "Petty criminals...  I'm going to have his head one day"  she says to herself.  Louder she says "doesn't someone have another paper on them?"

Onyx see the group exit the manor, "damn 1 more min and we would have assumed you were all dead." He said outloud with a little chuckle, "so how much coin did ya get?" Hearing Hollisa's question about another paper. "I'm not sure who does, I dont have one on me." 

Hardal presents himself to Holissa as she asked who has a kill paper.

"I have two more, but neither of them are pleasing to do.

The information to one of them is placed outside of Cresthall, I suppose no one here wants to go back outside after we just recently entered the city.

The other one is kidnapping a half-elven girl, with a stringent requirement of not killing anyone during the job or else we won't receive the pay for it even if we bring the girl."

The gityanki then looks at Rakish.

"The payment for the caravan job was the contents of the caravan itself, so we have to split the gold we can exchange for this jewels."

"Kid napping with out killing huh? Seems like a good job to do now under the cover of dark, is it from a house nearby, maybe we go scope it out tonight?"

Holissa

"Depending on the pay of the first, that could be worthwhile, I don't like holding back so I wouldn't like the second.  Perhaps we should go back and see what is available. 

"The target is from a tavern, it is not specified what place so we have to know that first. Fortunately, the target's description was written on it. Here's the kill paper."

Hardal presents the note with his invisible mage hand.
