You all head with Mark up the lift to Upper Central, to the Kundarak Bank of Sharn. Here Mark leads you all into the Department of Organised Malefactory. Inside, you all meet Reidnul, a young dwarf with glasses, dressed very properly in his business suit. He smiles as Mark walks in, "Ahh Mark, i should have guessed you would have come so promptly." He looks at the rest of you, "I suppose these must be the people you told me about, with which you performed a job for the Sharn Watch?"
Mark gives Reidnul a smirk, "As usual you are correct, but you wouldn't call me in on my day off unless you had something interesting for me. Can my peers join me or is this strictly bank business?"
Reidnul looks at you all, "I suppose you will need some assistance on this one anyway. You may as well all hear me out. I've been informed of a new arrival to the city, an elf by the name of Zaeran. He apparently works for Daask and is quite high up in their leadership, but I simply have never heard of him. He seems to scare the hell out of most of my usual informants" He ruffles through his notes, clearly perturbed by this admittance, "I want you to conduct a fact finding mission for me. He has apparently been seen running around down in Old Sharn. I'm sure you could ask a few people down there you'd be able to find where he's staying. Once you do i just want some information: letters, overheard conversations, witness testimonies. Anything that will give me an idea on who this guy is, and why he seems so important to Daask. Of course you'd be well compensated for the job. A healthy bonus for sure"
This is my working map of Sharn by the way. Most of the time you can go either up or down a level, or across to a connected tower, in 1 hour. So you look at how many levels/towers you have to cross and times that by 1 hour to find out how long travel takes.
"No. We can't interfere in Daask's business. We just need to know what their business is so the bank can accurately predict profit and loss connected to them. Just some information on who Zaerun is. A notebook or journal would be helpful, otherwise just testimony from people who know him."
"Do we have anything from the artificers that we can plant to track or record his meetings? We might have someone who can help with that if we don't have that technology."
"I might be able to borrow something from Yosgrim," Elero pipes up. "So far, I haven't learned how to make anything that listens and records things." He shrugs. "I'm getting the hang of making items that emit things, be they noxious odors, or projectiles, or gouts of flame." He smiles. "I'm kind of excited about trying the flame one, I must admit, but it's probably not the right tool for the task at hand. But Yosgrim may have one we can borrow."
[OOC: I can't quite recall what the Multitool does, so if it has that function, Mr. DM, we can go that route, too]
"Make it a clean 3000, with the contingency that we find a way to magically track or record the Elf so we know more about the Shawn dealings, and you have a deal."

kit smiles a toothy/missing toothy grin at his companions announcement. He then leans over to Mark and whispers, “what’s a malefactory?”

"That doesn't sound too scary," Elero mutters, waiting for Mark to make the party's "official" response.
"Is the goal just to get information or would you like us to do anything with the elf himself?"
"No. We can't interfere in Daask's business. We just need to know what their business is so the bank can accurately predict profit and loss connected to them. Just some information on who Zaerun is. A notebook or journal would be helpful, otherwise just testimony from people who know him."

I'm sure Yosgrim would have something that fulfilled your needs. You would just need to go ask him.
"Lastly what would be the compensation for such a mission as this?" Mark says with a raised brow.
Reidnul smiles, “I suppose you’d make a poor bank employee if you didn’t take an interest in the details. How does $2500 gold pieces sound?”
"Make it a clean 3000, with the contingency that we find a way to magically track or record the Elf so we know more about the Shawn dealings, and you have a deal."
Roll a Persuasion check with Advantage because that is a good offer.
Persuasion w/ ADV: 13
[Well, that was unfortunate. Is there any way to some how save that roll haha]
Someone can reroll your skill check if they have proficiency in that skill. But i'd still want a convincing argument.
I don't think Elero can help. He's still getting the hang of being conniving, and it wouldn't have occurred to him to ask for more money.
Erix wouldn't have asked for more either ^^
