Draíoch proffers the 50ft of rope on him to Thelanis' plan. "Should we double-check that area there first to make sure there won't be any archers raining arrows at us?" He gestures towards the tunnel for 5/6
So you all tie off the rope and repel down the mine shaft. This place is noticeably darker than when you came up. The few lights have been snuffed out and is now eerily silent. You all make it down to the tunnel that leads to Chop's shop. As you do, you hear murmuring and shuffling coming from the place you fought Chop last time. Do you keep going down this path?
As you walk down the path you see a hulking figure breathing heavily. What was once the biggest bugbear you've ever seen, now is an undead version of his former self. Chop is standing at the entrance to his lair, breathing heavily, looking at the ground with cold dead eyes. He hasn't noticed you yet. Are you engaging him?
This is Chop, the Bugbear you faced while rescuing the Dwarves, he wielded a big cleaver, not the Greataxe of Amalkim. You were told by Jagar that the axe was used by the hobgoblin leader of the mine, Wrorak g'Ruek. You've actually never seen that character because you never went to the bottom of the mine.
As you all talk and discuss your options, Thelanis notices something else. There are two very short shadows on either wall that don't belong to any of you. They are also very slowly moving toward you.
[[ Whoops. Forgot Chop being different. Thanks for the correction. ]]
Draíocht answers Valar, "Even if those goblins were zombified into archers, such creatures aren't known for their dexterity. Though I do wonder what will have happened to that nothic." He's alright with skipping past the zombie Chop.
With the shadows upon Amiz and Valar, Draíocht gestures with his staff and chants in Druidic to cause vines to burst forth from the ground around them.

So we're climbing down the rope and making sure Chop's Area is clear?

Thelanis will cautiously advance down the path, keeping her senses open, and trying to remain reasonably hidden. [[Perception 18, Stealth 14]]

Draíocht glances to see if he still carries the elven weapon. He's keen to engage with the element of surprise if it seems the bugbear is alone.

Valar warns of the approaching shadows-we may have company!
What direction are the shadows approaching from? Chop, or the shaft?
Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain
Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards.
DM - The Old Keep
At this point they are either side of you in the hallway, they were approaching from Chop's side of the hallway.
Amiz not one for standing still amidst an ambush will approach the shadowy one closer to the shaft with shield in hand
If his Darkvision does not reveal what they are he will stand before it to see what it does.
As Amiz get's closer to the small shadow it's hand becomes 3d, reaching out to touch him.
Initiative:
Group 1: Thelanis and Valar
Group 2: Shadows
Group 3: Amiz and Draíocht
Thelanis and Valar have seen the Shadows first, so they get a chance to act before one attempts to grab at Amiz.
Valar moves to engage: Attack: 12 / damage: 7
Thelanis fires an Eldritch Blast at one of the Shadows.
Attack: 23 Damage: 12
Both Shadows come out of the wall, reaching out with there dark hands at Amiz and Valar.
Strength Drain against Amiz attack Attack: 18 Damage: 12 Necrotic and his Strength is reduced by 4
Strength Drain against Valar attack Attack: 6 Damage: 16 Necrotic and his Strength is reduced by 2
At this point you hear Chop behind you lumbering a bit closer, making a dull groaning noise.
You all are up, the Shadows are attacking your front line fighters, while Chop stumbles slowly toward you.
Alsen yells, "Deal with the Shadow's quickly before the bugbear gets here!"
With the shadows upon Amiz and Valar, Draíocht gestures with his staff and chants in Druidic to cause vines to burst forth from the ground around them.
