"I propose that we go to the more tended part of the forest. I think we shall find the druid there. Although...I don't see any hint of what is invading this place, do you think it might be just a few rowdy animals?" As Chetin asks the group, he takes a look around the forest for anything suspicious. ( For Investigation: 15 or for Perception: 9 )
Chetin points out the tracks of the human footprints and begins leading the group into the forest. After a couple of minutes of following through the trees and bushes, the scenery changes to a slightly muddier boggy area. (Good thing you brought your sturdy boots). The tracks are a little harder to follow at this point (if you want to make another check to find which way to go, feel free)
Up in a tree, an owl appears to have been snoozing overhead, woken up by the noise of the party traversing through the woods. It hoots loudly before flying deeper into the forest.
The group wades through the mud for a short while before Chetin picks up on something. The reason why the footprint trail has gone cold is that there are some small vines tied between some of the trees, working as ropes to climb across. It seems that the group should follow those next.
(You can either attempt to wade through the mud or monkey-bar climb/tightrope walk through the trees.)
If you wish to wade through, the mud gets deeper and an Athletics check will be required. If you are a small creature, it will be at disadvantage due to it covering more of you.
If you wish to monkey-bar/tightrope across the vines, an Acrobatics check will be required. If your character is wearing medium or heavy armour, they have disadvantage due to the extra weight putting strain on the vines.
Chetin, being the first to notice the vines, takes the drier approach. He carefully grabs onto one and manages to swing across without too much effort, getting to the other side of the boggy area.
For Chetin:
You can see ahead some more human footprint tracks that seem to lead past a hedge-like shrubbery nearby. It looks like you're close to the grove.

Akaas follows after Chetin, managing to get to the other side without incident.
Crispy, seeing the other two, decides to follow suit. However, her hands slip as she is climbing across and lands in the mud below. She takes 1 point of damage from falling and is now covered in mud. Eww... However, she manages to wade through the deeper bits of mud beneath the vines to get across.

Etla grabs the front of her robes and holds it up just above the surface of the mud. Why dirty it more than necessary? When she saw Crispy's feat of clumsiness she grinned merrily and placed a gentle hand on her back as encouragement. "We've all got those days." She, too, attempts to walk through the mud.

[ ooc: etla to crispy: "don't worry, it can happen to the best of us" and proceeds to faceplant into the mud lmao ]
Crispy stops growling hearing Etla's words. At seeing her trip, she does her best to not laugh, mildly successful, and extends a hand to help her up with a soft smile.
"Thanks for not making me feel like a complete idiot. I'm just not having a good day."
Etla takes a bad step and stumbles, falling face-first into the deeper part of the muddy bog. She's absolutely covered in grimy swamp-mud. Bigger Eww...
Borg decide to wade through regardless, getting mud up to just below the waist. She helps Etla up as they trudge through the mud together.
On the other side of the boggy area, the group catches up to Chetin, and can see the path leads to some natural looking hedges. They might be the walls to the grove you are looking for.
"I will need to bathe after this, the mud is every where." Borg says as she makes it across, she will look to the hedge row. "Hopefully we are here though."

"Could be anything." Crispy mentions. "But yes, I agree. The more tended part."

Yup, it's mud.
Borg will walk with the others. "Yeah chick, we got to keep moving. Hopefully we'll not get stuck in the mud."

Ok, what the hell is up with my rolls.

You hear an annoyed growling coming from Crispy as she "wades" through the mud.
