Augustus will turn to head back outside, but hearing their line of questioning, he'll turn and watch for the small dragon's response, a bit embarrassed he didn't think to question the instructions.
Sir Beauregard joins Silver. “We thank you for the information. We must now disable those statues and search this place for anything else Sparkrender might use to complete the ritual. We should not waste time so if you have nothing more to tell us about how we can ensure he does not complete the ritual we need to hurry.”
Sir Beauregard looks about for another exit. There’s a tower that is reachable from the main tower by bridge and he assumes the kobolds live there. But there’s another spire that seems to have no entrance. He’s wondering if there’s some passage down from here that somehow leads over.
The majesty of Aidron's appearance makes difficult to read beyond his surface expressions.
Aidron lowers his head abjectly at Vinn's line of questioning. "It's not like that... Not exactly..." He takes a moment to consider his words "Sparkrender found me at a difficult time... And he took advantage... He talked of his plans to end the hatred between metallic and chromatic dragons once and for all... If we could just harness this island's power... Tap into the spirits of both the chromatic and metallic dragons who died in this place... Maybe we could create something special... Something that could unite the warring sides under a shared banner to bring about a new age of draconic leadership..."
The dragon shakes his head with embarrassment at the thought. "I know. I understand how naïve it sounds... I know was a fool to believe him... I should've known he had his own reasons for keeping me involved..."
Then, the urgency returns. "But there's plenty of time to talk about that later. After we destroy those statues you found. Quick. Follow me."
And with that, he starts racing up the stairs, eager to reach the open air and spread his wings...
(Those of you who wish to stay behind and deal with the treasure may do so)
When you find the bronze dragon wyrmling, he's in the rotunda, busy demolishing the statues. One by one, he lifts them off the ground, tosses them off the side of the tower and watches as they shatter upon the rocky shoreline below. A firey look of cathartic zeal glows in the dragon's eyes as he watches the statues break apart below.
It's only once the last statue is destroyed that he seems to notice you again. "Oh... There you are." He says. "We should still be fast, before old blue wing returns... But feel free to take what you want. You'll find nothing in these that wasn't stolen by Sparkrender." In response to Sir Beauregard's interest in the other towers, Aidron explains, "You're correct. That northwestern tower is where his kobold allies stayed... I hope you haven't treated them to harshly. The poor creatures are innocents in their way easily compelled by draconic majesty... They don't always fully grasp the consequences of the things they do for us dragons."
Shaking his head to get back on track, he gestures towards the southwestern tower. "That there is the study chamber, and I'd be happy to fly you over there if you wish. Though I don't expect you'll find much. The research material is all rather esoteric, and Sparkrender committed the most valuable lore to memory before destroying the sources he found them in. "
With that, Aidron his happy to shuttle you to any part of the observatory you wish, one passenger at a time.

Morlock takes those, with the intent to give the Battle Axe to someone and add the Hold Person to his Spellbook. He also pockets a few (5-10) of the more valuable gems.
Vinn gives an inquisitive look, and points two fingers at his eyes before directing them towards Aidron. "Whatever, just know we're doing this because Mistress Ru asked us to try and be diplomatic."
As folks moves about, Vinn watches Aidron, still feeling unsure. (Insight check: 13)
Sir Beauregard will take Aidron up on his offer to carry him to the fourth spire. He’ll remove and stow his vambraces and greaves (chain shirt) for the ride. He feels compelled to see if there is any obvious means for Sparkrender to complete the rituals.
Augustus will request a lift to the study from Aidron, mentioning that information is often the mist valuable treasure. He'll also ask the young dragon, "do you believe there's any hope in changing the mind of Sparkrender? Now that the statues have joined the depths, his plan may be foiled, but what's to stop him from building them again? I fear a more permanent resolution is necessary."
Morlock takes those, with the intent to give the Battle Axe to someone and add the Hold Person to his Spellbook. He also pockets a few (5-10) of the more valuable gems.
Morlock: You're able to pull out five pale blue quartz gemstones worth 10 GP each, five blue jasper gemstones worth 50 GP each. You also find a waterproof leather case holding a blue silk fan painted with powdered blue gems, worth 25 GP.
Vinn: You sense nothing different from Aidron that hasn't been sensed already. Fear, embarrassment, and general distress.
Sir Beauregard & Augustus: One at a time dragon lifts you by your shoulders and carries you across to the isolated tower to the southwest. As he carries Augustus, he answers the dwarf's question. "It's difficult to imagine him every trying to stop." Aidron says. "You see, for blue dragon, this isn't just a grab for power... It's personal."
He sets Augustus down beside the half-orc knight to continue his explanation. "I discovered that fact when I was reviewing his notes... Understand. This place? The observatory? It has special significance for Sparkrender. The dragon who died here was an ancestor of his... Known as Eldenemir, The Raging Storm." The moment the words come out of Aidron's mouth, the wind picks up and you all feel a buzz of magic crackle in the air.
Aidron notices too, but continues. "He was killed my Mistress Runara over a hundred years ago when he attempted the very same ritual... Sparkrender is now trying to follow in his footsteps, complete the ritual and have his revenge..." Aidron turns away, setting his jaw. "Turning me against the Mistress was just another part of his revenge plot. I'm ashamed to have been used in such a humiliating way."
Aidron is silent for a moment, allowing you to notice the rhythm of the waves below echoing throughout this cramped tower. Part of the floor has crumbled away, dropping off into a chamber below. Amid the rubble, collapsed bookcases jut out at odd angles, and moldering books are strewn across the floor. Aidron sees you studying the environment and continues.
"This is where he found most of his research material... along with some items I stole from the stacks of the cloister's library. Feel free to grab what you can before we go."
If any of the others wish, Aidron can offer them passage to the isolated tower as well...

Sir Beauregard looks down into the chamber below to assess whether they should climb down to search for possible materials for the ritual. He’ll look in the bookcases as well.
Augustus offer to help Sir Beauregard down into the lower chamber by holding a rope for him, avoiding a heavy landing onto the ancient floor. He'll attempt to loop the rope around a nearby section of wall or large stone, then hold it for added security, tossing the loose end down into the chamber.
Z will accept a ride to the study, and will peruse some of the tomes and take a few into his backpack to return to Runara and perhaps study them once this is all over.
