Bok'Shir watches the three goblins for a moment, having not really expected so many. He would need to wait for his companions to do something to grab their attention, and then he could pounce on them unawares.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wondering why Bok'shir hasn't returned yet, Penley stealthily approaches, looking on at the Goblins
OOC: I am slightly concerned. If we are to use non-lethal force, then that means I should be using weapons, which is...wait. Actually, it's not that bad. How about this: Bok'shir goes in with his sword and knocks the big one out, I dual wield my daggers on one of the small ones, and we get Muck to use his spear (as well as his unnaturally high strength score. Why is your strength as high as your charisma?) and deal with the third, since we seem to be the most adept with weapons (Bridgettes staff and 12 strength ain't doing her any favors)
Penleygets up close as well without alerting the guards. Your pet Goblin(who gets a darker colour to distinguish him, until such a potential point that you find their name out) doesn't do anything to alert the guarding goblins.
Bok'Shir sees Penley expertly sneaking up on the goblins, and waits for him to be in position.
"Ok, ok, I am ready", he whispers under his breath once again, as if someone or something unseen has been egging him on. Feeling more confident now, he subtly attracts Penley's attention and points towards the big goblin with his sword, trying to indicate his target.
He waits briefly for some acknowledgement, and then charges in, swinging at the larger one trying to catch it with the flat of his blade whilst it is surprised and flat footed.
Movement: Close in on larger Goblin Action: Attack larger goblin (advantage due to surprise as per DM) - To Hit: (12, 17)+5=22, Damage: 3+3=6 [non lethal slashing]
As the violence unfolds in the bushes, Muck, not really understanding what's going on, remains focused on entertaining their new goblin friend.
Staring directly at the goblin the sentient gloop says,"Ooh. Let's play a game. I'll go first.... I spy, with my little eye, something that looks like a goblin...
OOC: To Racoon
Strength is high because I built Muck to approximate the stat block of a typical ooze. Those creatures tend to have high Strength and low Dex. That's the RP reason. Mechanically, it also pairs well with the plasmoid's advantage on grapple checks, which can only be initiated with a successful Athletics check, even though they can be escaped with Athletics or Acrobatics. But at the end of the day, the reason was... <shrug> cause it seemed fun.
Btw, I'm not ignoring your tactical suggestion. It's a good idea. I just tend to play pretty diligent about RP & avoiding meta. So, at present, Muck has no idea what the plan is and is unlikely to come up with such a sophisticated plan on its own.

Penley signals Bok'shir, then draws his two Daggers. With the grace of a deadly panther, he lunges forward, and assaults Regular Goblin #1
DaggerAttack VS. Regular Goblin #1: 21 to hit, 5 Non-lethal Piercing damage
If the first goblin is still alive, he will use his bonus action to make a second strike. Otherwise, he will attack Regular Goblin #2
DaggerAttack VS. Regular Goblin #1/2: 22 to hit, 5 Non-lethal Piercing damage
Out of Character:
That makes sense on the Ooze thing. Well, I do that with some of my characters, like my level three drow eloquence bard who, for story reasons (AKA afflicted with lycanthropy) took a level in barbarian (I would have taken druid but I dumped Wisdom and didn't meet the required wisdom score to multiclass), so yeah.
And I get what you mean about not metagaming. I'm just being extra cautious about everything, considering we are all level one. Once he is strong enough to not get one-shot by a lucky crit, I plan to do all sorts of dangerous with Penley. And yes, you should be scared. :P

Bok'shirgets a decent hit on the larger one, though it doesn't seem to be doing too bad, while Penleygets two hits. (Apart from the fact the tooltip is not giving the correct result, it also shows as not advantage. You may roll again as if you get a crit on the first one, you might manage to knock both smaller ones out before combat really starts). At least one of them is knocked out.
To Muck,"Ummm... is it that bush?" as the Goblinpoints to a vaguely goblinoid shaped bush, at least if you squint hard enough. You will also hear that fighting has started so now as we move into proper combat rather than surprise turn, you may join in. (Same for Bridgette)
You are all up first, so following that surprise round, you all go again!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: It's showing all the correct things for my attack. The first one was either a 10 or 7 to hit, with an additional +5, so 15 to hit, and 4 damage (1 from the d4, 3 from the DEX mod), and the second was 16 or a 7 to hit, with an additional +5, so 21 to hit and 7 damage (4 from the d4, 3 from the DEX mod).
Penley viciously attacks with his blades, almost forgetting for a second that he is supposed to be using non-lethal force. He first stabs at one of the normal goblins, hoping his scaly friend can finish off the large one.
DaggerAttack #1 VS. Regular Goblin (whichever is still alive): 18 to hit, 6 Non-lethal Piercing damage
Then, he uses his Bonus Action to slice once more

My Characters: Brorminthe Devout Crusher; Morgrom the Cunning Summoner;Theathe Rebellious Beauty;
OOC: The first one shows as 1d20+2 to me, with a nat 20 rolled.... (And I didn't bother to check the rest). Penleyattacks the one standing goblin and after the first hit it falls down unconscious. The second hit therefore I assume is directed at the larger one?
Also, don't forget that without the dual wielding fighting style, you don't add your ability modifier to the offhand attack (just noticed that you are adding it). You can customise an attack on your sheet to have dual wielding so it reminds you (will be under bonus actions and without the +3)
Bok'Shir's attack all but bounces off the larger goblin even though he connects well, and he has a moment of uncertainty that he might have bitten off more than he chew. But seeing Penley and his storm of daggers drop the other smaller goblins, he is inspired to try again.
He moves opposite Penley to flank the larger goblin, and then reverses his blade and sweeps it back towards it's head, once more looking to hit it with the flat of his blade.
Action: Attack larger goblin - To Hit: 11+5=16, Damage: 6+3=9 [non lethal slashing] (OOC: I can't remember if there were special flanking rules in this campaign, couldn't find them if there are. So just in case, here is his second roll to hit for advantage: 13+5=18)
(OOC: Might be worth adding house rules to the campaign page to keep them in one place that is easy to find? I know equipping shields and drawing two weapons are already house ruled)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Putting it into a spoiler:
Well, I definitely didn't roll any crits. If you want, I can reroll both of my attacks for my surpise round turn (post #106):
25 to hit & 23 to hit. And that damage on the offhand attack for my surprise round is only 4 damage.
Did the rolls for my regular round turn (IE, post #108), come through fine? I'm looking at a 17 to hit and 7 damage for the main hand, and then 24 to hit, and 2 damage for the off hand.
And yes, it seems I did make that blunder on dual wielding, I will note that for the future

The larger goblin gets hit but only just. You get the feeling if it had picked its shield up you would have missed. It is now looking very injured.
(Raccoon, your actual values all are displaying right, just the tooltips are wrong. I am happy to keep them as they are. Second post displays right)

This whole time, Muck has been keeping the goblin prisoner/friend entertained/distracted from the melee in the bushes with a Minor Illusion showing a crudely rendered portrait of the goblin. "What do you think? Be honest. I know I'm not a great artist but I really want to get better."

Bridgette has also just sort of been waiting around... she knows she sucks at sneaking.
But, seeing that her friends have already surprised the goblins, she decides it's time to go in swinging...
Staff vs. whichever goblin looks like it's the most beat-up:
Attack: 19; Damage: 6 bludgeoning (rolled in game log)
Bridgette decides to respect the first little green fellow's request and try to knock her target out rather than kill him or her.
Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
