At the bell’s ring, a small window near the gate opens and a voice says “welcome to Feathergale Spire, a retreat of the Feathergale Society, how can I help you?”
Redleaf looks towards Sirahane and then shrugs. "Ah, the Feathergale Society sounds so interesting. What are you doing so far out here from Waterdeep? Ah, nevermind that question. We were over yonder." Redleaf points the way they came from the cairns.
"investigating some cairns and we noticed this tower not so far away and came to look. We are trying to track down a missing delegation. Any chance we can come in and talk to the big boss, the man in charge, the head honcho, the Feathergale Society leader?
Sirahane opens her mouth to respond to Redleaf when the voice interrupts her. Her eyes widen in surprise, narrow in deliberation, then return to their usual calm gaze within the span of a second.
"Savra, is that you? It's Sirahane Bladesemmer, it's been years, but I've had few as engaging as ours where. I'm traveling with this party in search of the Mirabar delegation as well and my own business. Might you let us in and we can catch up?"
Sirahane's tone is the cordial friendliness one might expect of a conversation amongst the peerage, but anyone trained in martial techniques would realize that her stance, while not one suited for active combat, is purposely a bit forward as if to be ready to move quickly.
“Sira is that really you? What a pleasant surprise! Please stand clear while I lower the drawbridge”the voice says. There is a clanking of chains and the drawbridge slowly lowers. A reasonably attractive young woman about 5’8’’ in height with chestnut coloured hair (Tethyrian heritage) walks out onto the drawbridge. She is wearing Scale Mail and has a Longsword belted at her waist. A grey cloak flaps in the wind and she carries a spear. “Welcome to Feathergale spire”she says.“My name is Savra Belabranta and I am the Gate Keeper for this month” she finishes with.
Sirahane introduces the party members by name.
Savra turns and walks back into the Keep. As the party follow her they emerge into what is obviously the Entrance Hall. It is 30 feet long and 20 feet wide. At the opposite end of the hall are two twelve-foot-tall doors like those of the entry gate. The ceiling in this hall is 18 feet high and the floor is made of white stone. An eagle carved from a massive timber hangs from the far side of the ceiling, suspended on strong chains. Slender wings of steel sweep close to its sides. Its head is also fashioned of steel. On either side of the entry door, operating the cable drums, are two humans dressed in leather armour and a third human dressed in a similar fashion to Savra. He nods politely to the group and signals to the two servant types who begin to closing up the drawbridge.
“You have arrived at an exciting time for tonight we are having a feast to celebrate 10 years since the founding of the Feathergale Society, to which I am sure you would be most welcome.” Savra says. “Come and I will introduce you to the Lord Commander”she finishes with. Once the drawbridge is up the servants open the double doors.
The party enters into a spiral stairway which both goes up and down. There are three other doors off this chamber. When the party climbs to the next level they see a set of double doors on the eastern side. As the climb to the next level they see four doors leading off the stairway. Finally the party emerges inside a stone gazebo. Beyond the gazebo a small lawn is present. It is bisected by four paths, paved with white stones, aligned along the cardinal points of the compass. Each path ends in a pointed stone crenellation. At the end of the north and south paths a Giant Vulture is perched and standing beside each vulture is a human dressed in a similar fashion to Savra. Quivers of javelins can be seen on saddles of each vulture. At the end of the east path a telescope is mounted on a pedestal. At the end of the west path, gazing westwards towards Red Larch, is a well built male human of Tethyrian heritage wearing a breast plate embossed with feather patterns. A cloak with a feathered mantle flaps in the wind.
“My Lord may I introduce Lady Sirahane Bladesemmer of Waterdeep and her colleagues"Savra says as names the party members. "They are tracking down a delegation which left Mirabar sometime ago for Waterdeep but has not yet arrived” Savra finishes with.
The man turns to you and bows low before the party as if he were only a lowly courtier. He says “my lady I know of your family. You and your colleagues are most welcome to Feathergale Spire, retreat of the Feathergale Society. I am Thurl Merosska, the lord commander.” He finishes with “I trust you will stay for the feast tonight in honor of the society’s tenth year.”
Redleaf scoffs when Savra mentions The Lady and her colleagues and gives the slightest of bows to the Lord Commander.
Ignoring Lady Sirahane of wherever, Redleaf speaks. " I'm Redleaf and this is Cairn" She nods to the Ankheg on her back
" I am the Druid of Miribar and Protector of the Spine of the World. I am in search of a missing delegation that had in their possession a rare artifact, but enough of that for now. What's with all the vultures and giant birds? What exactly is the Feathergale Society and why are you here in the middle of nowhere far away from your home?"
Redleaf will watch the man when he speaks to see if he lies at all when talking to her.
Lanoros will stay near the back of the party with Phantom, unsure of how to take the society. Also to make sure Phantom doesn't go off looking for the rookery.

Tibold bows respectfully towards the commander. He follows Thromkor when it seems appropriate to do so. At the telescope, Tibold mutters something that only Thromkor can hear.
Thromkor:
"Remember, we've been hired by the Library, right?"
"Correct." He looks around Tibold at the members of the Society and then back at the bard. "I don't think we'll have any trouble from these. Are you familiar with the Feathergale Knights?" When Tibold shakes his head, Thromkor leans in. "They're a group of pretentious Hipogriff riders from Waterdeep. They consider themselves nobility. They're always dressed to impress, but are inclined toward drinking, singing, and general revelry." The dragonborn blinks at Tibold and then adopts on a look of incredulity. "Come to think of it, you'll probably get along splendidly."
Tibold grins, but it doesn't quite reach his eyes. "Please. I only revel specifically." He turns away from Thromkor, looking at the telescope with apparent interest.

Sirahane spares a tight glance at Redleaf before turning towards the commander he gives a bow appropriate to their stations [if she doesn't know or have an idea of his station, she'll bow as if he was on equal footing with her].
"Thank you for the invitation, I would be delighted. It will give me a chance to catch up with Savra, it's been years, and give her some word from house and home." As Sirahane says this she glances at Savra to gauge her reaction to mentioning her family.
“You are a long way from the Spine of the World, about 450 miles as the Hippogriff flies if I’m not mistaken, Madam Dwarf,” the Lord Commander says. “However, your questions are sensible and I will answer them as best I can” he continues. “What the Feathergale Society is and why we are here? It’s quite simple really! We are a group of like-minded individuals who train for the day when Waterdeep will have need of us. As to why we are here, if you are practicing dangerous aerial manoeuvres, it is better to do it where civilians will not get hurt as I am sure you will agree?” he explains. “Now why the mixture between vultures and hippogriffs? Well they are equally fast but the Hippogriffs are more manoeuvrable whilst the vultures give us the capacity to stay airborne for longer” he says. “I trust I have answered your questions to your satisfaction”he finishes with, looking at Redleaf.
He turns to Cole and says“I can assure tonight will be exactly that, now come all of you let us go down to the feast.”
He then says to Sara “would you please take the party down to the Great Hall, I’ll be down shortly” As the party moves off Sara says to the Sirahane “It would be good to talk about Family and catch up on what you have been doing!”
The party, led by Sara, renters the tower. They climb down two floors and pass through the two double doors into what is obviously the Great Hall. This chamber spans half the diameter of the tower from 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock . Between the four overlarge windows, tapestries depict scenes of gallant knights on flying hippogriffs, fighting dragons and jousting with one another among the clouds. High on the walls are the mounted heads of griffons, wyverns, owlbears, and manticores. A long, curved table set for a feast stretches between the hall’s twin hearths set at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock. Two humans clad in the finest garments of velvet brocade are standing near the southern fire place talking. “Please make yourself comfortable, the other knights will be here shortly, I must go and get ready” Sara says as she turns and leaves the chamber.
Over the next 30 minutes, four more knights, the Lord Commander and Sara enter the chamber.
Thromkor limps up to one of the knights and introduces himself. "I am called Thromkor. My associate and I are agents of the library of Deneir in Waterdeep. The library was to receive materials from a dwarf which was part of a delegation, which has gone missing. We've been on the road several days searching for the missing dwarf. Have you any news from the City of Splendors?"

We've been on the road several days searching for the missing dwarf. Have you any news from the City of Splendors?"
“Well met, Thromkor”the knight says. “My name is Donall” he says as he bows to Thromkor. He continues “we have had no recent news from the City of Splendors up here in the hills but about five days ago a patrol in which I was a member came across a group of bugbears and humans escorting prisoners towards the South. We attacked, and during the confusion some of the prisoners tried to make a run for it; unfortunately they were not successful. We were eventually driven off, after losing one of our own, but not before my Lord managed to rescue one of the prisoners. I saw him fly-off with it after the battle but don’t know where he went. When he came back some time later he was alone.”
Thromkor looks alarmed. "What a tale!" he says. "Perhaps these poor souls were the dwarf's party. Could you perhaps show us on a map where this skirmish took place?" He looks around and then back to the knight with a sheepish grin. "And can you point out your lord? I confess that you humans all look alike to me."
As the Lord Commander walks in the door, Donall points him and says "that is my Lord Thurl Merosska, ex-Griffon Rider of Waterdeep, and now Lord Commander of the Feathergale Knights. As to the skirmish it took place about 2 miles west of here."
Gotrek who had been mostly quiet up until this point decides he might as well ask some questions whilst he is here. Watching Thromkor head off in the pointed direction, Gotrek walks up to Donall, saying "I didn't catch most of that last conversation, but what do you know about raiders in the area wearing armour made of stone?"
"I didn't catch most of that last conversation, but what do you know about raiders in the area wearing armour made of stone?"
Donall turns to Gotrek bows and says “and you are?” He continues “stone armour is a characteristic of the Black Earthers, the most coarse, rude, unimaginative, and stubborn to the point of stupidity, group of people I've ever met.”
Thromkor thanks Donall and limps over to Lord Merosska. "My Lord," the dragonborn says, inclining his head politely. "I am called Thromkor. I'd like to thank you for your invitation to join you this evening. My associate and I were investigating four mysterious cairns a few miles south of here with this band we met only yesterday when we saw this tower and decided to pay a visit. This is quite a place. Being from Waterdeep myself, I am familiar with the Feathergale Knights, but had no idea you had such a sanctuary at your disposal."
Redleaf looks towards Sirahane and then shrugs. "Ah, the Feathergale Society sounds so interesting. What are you doing so far out here from Waterdeep? Ah, nevermind that question. We were over yonder." Redleaf points the way they came from the cairns.
