Surprising unconcerned with the strange exit of Morpetor, Vah'Lhorn's pact demon exert's it's influence calming his reaction and rationalizing the incident as nothing out of the ordinary...
Vah'Lhorn's attention is quickly drawn to the very real secario unfolding in front of him. He moves protectively behind the wizened elf as she berates the Redbrands, still holding his sword and shield from the Bugbear skirmish. He smiles an evil smile as Gramgram hints at the combative conclusion, and adds his voice that they should make a decision either way...
Vah'Lhorn's features go a long way to convince the Redbrands to leave. "We- well you better get out of here! And you never saw us! Got it?" They all start to back up from the door Gramgran opened. You see another door on the opposite side of the room. One of the Redbrands starts pushing on the door, almost fanatically, but cannot seem to open it. "It's stuck, boss! It's stuck!" The main one, the de facto leader of this small group, looks back. "Pull it, you moron!" He pulls the door open and they begin to leave out the door.
Kim accepts the paper from Yuri, then walks to the wall. She kneels down and creates an ice knife in her hand. She starts carving a Raven into the wall with Morpetor's name. She never even gives focus to the encounter in the other room. She has faith the others can handle a fight. She has seen it time and time again, but these portals... what do they mean? How can she put am end to this? She takes 5 minutes to compose herself then joins the others.
Seeing the Redbrands leaving, Gramgran thinks to herself, I hope they rethink their ways in the future. Then she’ll look around the room to see what is in it. If there is something that could be useful or helpful to them or the town.
Several worn tables and chairs are scattered around this large room. Wooden benches are drawn up against walls decorated with draperies of brown and red, and several ale kegs are propped up and tapped. Four tough-looking human warriors wearing scarlet cloaks are gathered around one of the tables. A stack of coins and trinkets is heaped upon the tabletop between them. It looks like they were in the middle of a dice game before you all interrupted.
The wealth in the room is all on the table, having been bet in the game. The total amounts to 75 cp. 55 sp, 22 ep, 15 gp, and a gold earring set with a tiny ruby (30 gp). Also, a purple set of dice sit on the table.
((Are those humans still there playing? If not)) Gramgran will gather all of the stuff up, and split it amongst the group while telling them, “This is your reward for beating those bugbears without dying.” Looking at the earring and set of dice, she looks at the others and says, “Would anyone prefer these, or should I just stick them in my bag for fun later?”
((How would that split by the way? Four ways now? If that’s right, everyone gets like 32 gp 2 silver 5 cp in assorted money))
Yuri looks round the group. "Now we've eliminated those bugbears, let's take Droop here back to Sildar. I think we might need to head out, find this castle, rescue Gundren."
Nothing really of value in the place. You've been to all the rooms in the hideout and gathered some new items. You head back on the path leading to the city. You notice a few sets of Redbrand cloaks discarded roadside. (Is anyone still wearing theirs?) It's not hard to find Sildar. You see him in the town square. "Iarno has been confined for the time being and later tomorrow a transport wagon will take him to Waterdeep. I've a feeling the Lord's Alliance has a few questions for him." Sildar eyes over the goblin. The tries hiding behind Yuri. "Who are you?" Droop does not answer.
Yuri places a hand on Droops shoulder to reassure the goblin. "He seemed to know a bit about the area, we thought he might be able to start filling some of the blanks we have about the area. In exchange we would make sure he got a safe place to call his own."
Looking at the group making decisions, she say, “We should also head to Thuntertree to talk to the Druid Reidoth. We were told she might have information about where exactly the castle is, along with this cave everyone wants to know about.”
"That druid sounds like a solid lead. Is that where those orcs were causing trouble too? After everything we learned under the manor, I suspect the Black Spider is involved in that too. Sildar, would you look after Droop in the meantime?"
Sildar, while not too keen on goblins after his little run-in in the cave, Sildar will take Droop. "I will be able to find him safe passage. The place you seek out is Thundertree. It is about a half days travel to the east. You will find it on the south side of the road." It is about 2 pm now which means you would arrive in the middle of the night if you left now. "Good luck." Sildar turns with Droop and begins to walk off.
Droop stops and turns back around. He runs toward the group and produces a brass compass to Kim. "Thiz is yourz now. I uh found it in bugbear's thingz. They didn't needz it anymore. Droop thankz you." Droop runs back to Sildar and they both leave out of sight around a corner.
A heavy brass compass with an ornate sylvan themed engraved clamshell-style lid. Inside, under a thick piece of glass is a compass rose that glows a bright green with a matching ornate compass needle. On the back is stamped a name, "General McGillicuddy, Calvary division". Clearly, this is a commissioned piece and the only of its kind you have ever seen. You are granted advantage on all survival checks while in possession of this item.
Compass of survival has been added to Kim's inventory.
Do you want to head out now or take the night to rest before heading out?
After receiving the compass Kim looks shocked and then replies, "Thank you!"
As the group has decided their next course Kim steps into her normal role of presenting options. "If we go now, we will deal with a lot of unknowns, such as where things are, how many creatures, guards, etc are there, along with not knowing the terrain with low light that some of us struggle to see in. On the up side to this plan would be that we would catch them when some of their forces are asleep. The other option is to wait till morning, leave early, getting there with plenty of day left so we can observe and learn our location, find strong and weak points easier. The down side is that this means anyone who we might have to fight would have had the opportunity to get a good nights sleep too. What would each of you like to do?"
"I've never minded sleeping outside, but one last night of comfort might be for the best. I also wonder how many ex-Red Brands are left in town? Might be worthwhile staying close tonight."
Are you all wanting to try to find Cragmaw Castle where the bugbears were from? Or head out toward Thundertree where there is supposed to be a druid that knows the location of Cragmaw Castle?

The ones that left were playing. The room is empty now since they left. And yes, loot split 4 ways.

Gramgran
“Well then, if we’re done here, let’s go.” If they’ve searched the whole place she’ll lead the way back towards town.

"This is Droop. We need him to get to a new home safely. He does not wish to join other goblins. He traded information for his safety."

((I'd take the night, getting into a new area in the middle of the night has never been super high on my list of adventuring habits.))
