Piotr positions himself primarily to get a good shot or two at the group near the front door. His second goal is some camouflage so he is not immediately seen. So he backs slightly into the bushes, careful not to make any sounds and targets CC. He first cast Hail of Thorns in the hopes of harming more than one person. He takes a deep breath and releases the arrow. Attack 29 (nat 20)

Damage 17 (with crit hit dice)
Hail of Thorns damage to those within 5’: 4
Piotr plans his shot to perfection. The arrow with a hail of thorns almost silently thuds into the cultist left eye killing the man outright as the thorns impact the cultist and Guard standing nearby.
On seeing the long bow shot pax attacks remaining cultist and transfers hex (wisdom) 25 to hit and 9plus 6(nectortic from hex) =15 damage.
Pax sees the impact of the thorns hit the guard sends his arrow at the other cultist and the arrow thuds into the man's back not quite the heart but then the necrotic damage takes hold and stops the heart in a split second later. Killing the second cultist with a damaged guard and thorns peppered on his visible skin.
Ven has his surprise round.

“Nice,” whispers Piotr to himself. That went perfectly. He stays stealthy as he crosses the river to join his companions in front of the mill. Will need to hide the bodies and see what is in the mill.
“I suggest we put on the cultist clothes again. Hopefully that will get us far enough into the mill to learn about the opposition.” Camouflage worked when hunting in the woods, so should work when hunting in a village, reasons Piotr.
ooc: Can’t give guidance. Hex last hour or I can drop hex and cast guidance
i can however cast disguise self (into say a dragon born) and walk in with the two of you and speak dragon to them and tell them what we need to… I could even make it so my illusionary dragon wings are make me fly ( winged boots).
Piotr walks in, back straight and head held high. This of course made little difference since, as a halfling, his physical bearing would do little to intimidate anyone. He moves to the side of the room so there is a clear path for the goons from the stairs to the door to exit. He has his bow in his hand but does not ready an arrow. He doesn’t say anything since the freedom to loot seems to be motivating the goons to move.

also have decent mods on charisma as a warlock
You'll have to chime in then. The roll isn't high enough without the guidance.
The group get a bit suspicious as they come down. "Where is the group from outside. You three are different. What happened to them?"

prior to walking in I cast the disguise self spell as a blue skinned dragon born
in draconic: “ I am what happened to those at the building. They were repurposes to help loot the town. Your orders have also changed. You are to continue looting on the other side of town- or you could disobey me… which is fine, but then I’d have to report back to Lennithon, who is likely to get upset… can you give me your names incase I need to file a report?”
if they don’t seem to understand draconic- I repeat in common.
I throw back my hood showing my dragon face and slowly ascend into the air I move so that I’m above them by about ten feet
and if they don’t start moving instantly I say “I don’t like waiting… just what ARE your names. Seems I will need to file a report for Lennithon after all.”
ooc:hold action if I sense someone is getting ready to cast or attack
When they get close to the door I move twds them.still 10feet above
“One more thing …. I would suggest you don’t gossip about this, dragons are not nice to those who meddle in their affairs “
A blue electric whip extends fwd safely above their heads, and more for dramatic effect as it snaps above them.
Other than the stolen treasure there is only mundane items on the bodies. The Governor with be happy to get the stolen treasure though.
You get back to the keep and get a short rest of that get you to Ven plays a song of rest. If you or any friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest by spending one or more Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d6 hit points.
Time stamp 12:30 AM take a short rest on your character sheets.

Can we both search and hide the bodies. And possibly use robes as disguises
The grinding of the mill wheel provides a bit of white noise for your plan to hide the bodies.
You can take the robes from the cultist decide how you want to proceed. Give me a plan and I'll roll or ask for rolls based on the plan.
Loot wise I'll roll at the end for this encounter.

Do we just want to wear the robes when we walk into building? Also any windows /ways to see into building. ?
also understand about loot rolling at end of encounter, was more questioning if they had anything (like keys, messages, etc) on them
Ah gotcha...No on keys and stuff.
Windows on the two short sides of the building show the lower-level empty.

Ven nods and says, "Be ready just in case it goes bad right away. Ready? Follow my lead a bit. Pax give me some guidance please."
Ven drops the stealth routine being one of the cultists and all.
Slings the door open and says, "Alright you goons. The boss said the intel was all wrong. Go check on some houses and find some more loot."
Piotr and Pax follow behind Ven.

The bolt towards the keep then head north to look for houses to loot.
Well played all. You work your way back to the tunnel and time getting back in between patrol groups.
