Amdaeng follows Zarbyn, her eyesight in the dark cave very much needing his torch....she doesn't share her info about the cult as yet as it doesn't seem immediately relevant....
(the first two chambers had torches that were placed about them, likely by the goblins. The south chamber has not been entered, having a layer of dust. The passage to the north west has not been explored yet as the group heads south. (you can move your token on owlbear or I can) There are some strange looking blue mushrooms near the small pool and a very thin passage heading toward the east.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Now that he has bright light from the torch he will check carefully for any signs of traps.

(Roll perception with advantage when looking for traps, Brian_Avery: what did you roll, when I hover, it shows a 19, but the result on the page is a 5. Maybe roll in the character sheet and record scores)
(ooc: rolled 2d20 in game log for advantage and got a 4 and a12... )
So my Perception with advantage is 14.

Getting alerted by Vydar and with the use of Storm's notes, you strongly suspect that there is a trap on the ground somewhere along the thin passage to the east of Vydar. You do not see it, but....that seems a very likely location of an old trap. The cavern beyond is dark and there is no movement.
Iólander heard some voices far off echoing up the north west passage.
"Wait Paevira! This narrow area matches one of the pictures for an old trap. It's possible that we won't see it until we spring it. If we need to go explore this area lets use one of the dead goblins."
Zarbyn will screw up his face a little bit at the idea he just put forward. And before Paevira can step into the narrow passage Zarbyn will put his hand out in front of her as a mild deterrent (this is not an attack or even a grapple, just a motion similar in nature to pointing).
"I know that sounds morbid but I'd rather a dead goblin corpse set off the trap than you."

Vydar shrugs, Zarbyns plan seems reasonable to him. So, he heads back out of the tunnel and grabs the goblin that had slashed his side earlier. Nothing wrong with a little extra revenge right? Hauling it back over the bodies of the bear and goblin that set off the traps, he almost just chucks it into the narrow corridor. However, he stops himself and looks over at Paevira.
Behind them Amdaeng frowns slightly at this use of the dead, but her will to live overweighs her discomfort, " Chuck it 10 feet ahead. Retrieve and repeat?"
She began to do her best to assist looking for traps along the passage....
Lev frowns at the use of the corpses, but can't argue with efficiency. At least everyone has grouped up again, and Vydar seems to be making use of Storm's hat. Who would have guessed the thing would come in handy so soon?
Grunting, he moves to pick up one of the corpses and toss it as well. He keeps an eye out for what he thinks might be traps, and chucks the body in the general direction of whatever looks suspicious.
With the first toss, the small goblin body lands with a thud. The second, the same. The third, it hits the floor, there is a clicking sound, and the body falls through the floor. A moment later, you hear it hit ground.
peaking within, it is a pit of spikes. The poor corpse lies impaired on 3 foot long iron skewers.
(ooc reread storms hat, it was never activated, but it did give you a premonition or spidey-sense)
The cavern has a chest in a small alcove. A small group of black mushrooms grow to the north west. At the back wall, the rest of the cave-in from the first room. Amdaeng notes that a layer of unidisturbed dust lies on the ground. no one has entered these rooms for quite some time.
From north in the tunnels, Iólinder hears distant yelling and shouts, perhaps even goblin cursing. They are not getting closer yet. Whatever is happening to the remaining cultists, they are not happy. (4 minutes remaining on shield of faith)
(OOC: We are still on owlbear rodeo for visuals and locations of PC's)
Iólinder noted with slight disgust the almost callous way how the others went on using the corpses of the goblins as crude trap detectors. True, the goblins did attack them and being dead they were in no position to object or care but years of clerical studies etched into Iólinder's mind told him that respect for the (recently) deceased was some base level of decency to be expected of civilized people.
He could however not argue the morbid effectiveness of the method. He did avert his attention from the sickening wet thud and crunch each time the body was thrown. There was a passage to the northwest that the others had overlooked or not yet gotten to. With most of them scouting further ahead, the ambient noise has quieted enough for Iólinder's ears to pick up a faint sound. A whisper, a distant voice, a sharp yell, all amplified by the cavern walls, drifted from deeper within the passage. He could not understand what was said but he understood what is was.
'Goblin tongue.' Iólinder muttered. He quickly strode over to the rest of the party.
'More cultists.' He said. Iólinder turned and pointed to the northwest passage. 'Through there. It sounds like they are arguing or yelling among themselves. We can take them by surprise if we are careful.'
"Iolinder's right, even if we do find the artifact down this way with the trap we'll just have to fight the goblins later to keep them from getting their grubby little hands on it."
Zarbyn goes over next to Iolinder to show his support for dealing with the problem now.
"Maybe they found the artifact and are arguing over who gets to carry it? Whatever it is there's a good chance we could surprise them, I think we should try."

Paevira will move carefully pas the pit keeping a careful eye for more traps as she approaches the chest, if she doesnt see any trap in front of the chest she will look over the chest itself. Looking for signs it has been accessed or of it is trapped and locked
search for traps:11
investigated the chest for traps and conditions: 22
As Paevira and the others move past the pit, she looks very carefully for traps. Other than the black mushrooms and the chest. She does not see anything out of the ordinary. As she inspects the chest, it is not locked and she sees no traps, or tampering. Vydars stone on his hat is cool to the touch.

Feeling the gem heat, he takes his hand away from the hat.
“Watch your step everyone.” He speaks up as Zarbyn and Pavaera pass him. “There are traps ahead”

Paevira will say” thats a great idea, goblins continue to be useful. Do we yse a whole Goblin, or do you think just a head will suffice?”
she will look for signs of trap in while someone behind her can bring forth a goblin or piece of one.

Paevira looks very carefully, and she is quite confident that at least the first 10 feet of the twisty passage seems clear.
