Backstory: Slovark was an outcast at the start of his life. Those in pursuit of magical arts would decide him for his pursuit of weaponry, and those working as students of the sword and shield would laugh at his fancy of magic. He always thought there must be a way to incorporate both. His home was destroyed in his teen years by a rampaging dragon and it's slaves. They dragged him off to a Gladiator ring, which was when something changed his life forever. As he stood in the ring before the match, he was asked to pick a weapon. His eyes fell upon a flail, stained with a strange shadow. The weapon communicated somehow that it could grant him his dreams for servitude. The pact was made. He grabbed the weapon, and it led his hands to success in the ring. He continued to use it, gaining prowess, until he challenged his masters for freedom. He spent the war in the Gladiator ring, performing with others' lives as his instrument. But then his flail called him to a higher purpose, to trade his soul for higher power, and trained him in the mystic arts. He learned power and he learned magic, and he is here to fight for his flail and his livelihood, and simply to fight.
Name: Gairynzyl Orthos Race: Fallen Angel (Winged Tiefling) Class: Warlock (Fiend) Background: Monster Hunter (Urban Bounty Hunter) Backstory: They say war eventually brings out the darkness in everyone. Even those pure of heart will inevitably succumb to it's cruelty and madness. Gairynzyl fought long enough in the Last War to lose his way, being cast out and stripped of his power, cursed to wander Aarde in search for redemption. From the darkness came an offer for a new purpose. Gairynzyl has now re-emerged as a monster hunter of sorts. After a completed mission the fallen one has found his way to the Moonlit Stag in the city of Ohdrid where fate would deal him a new hand.
Unsure. I don't have a hard cut-off. 2-4 more days.
I would say give me a character archetype or like a theme, and I can likely give you lore to build off of. Something like..."disgruntled former priest, who has found power in a new faith," or "eccentric archaeologist that believes Aarde's history is not as it has been told." It can also be as simple as "lone wanderer" or "hot-headed soldier."
That is dependent on the rest of the party. With a campaign I have running right now on the forum, the group of players I have are very...Tactical. And I'm going to have to make adjustments to how I build combat encounters to actually challenge them.
Re-roll 1's, always.
Got it. I'll work as fast I can.
How about...hmmm...how about a theme of like archaeological stuff and treasure hunting. That's always fun.
Sounds good. I'll probably adjust my character some if I get in once I see how optimized the rest of the group is.
*salutes* Crazy MAD multiclass here I come! This'll be fun.
Thanks for answering my questions! I really appreciate it!

My Characters: Brorminthe Devout Crusher; Morgrom the Cunning Summoner;Theathe Rebellious Beauty;
Sorry if this has been asked already but when is the last day to apply? Just to make sure when I should finish my application (I'm on holidays and I don't have that much time to use my phone).
In any case I'll roll stats in case I can make it on time :)
🤣🤣 Well, I was thinking of a rogue arcane trickster before rolling and now I can't think of anything else. As you said in your recruitment thread, now I gotta make those stats work!
But if they rolled a single 1 and three non-1's without choosing reroll 1's always, it would drop the 1 and keep the other three and show the number as green. If they chose reroll 1's always, it would reroll the 1 (in the example — resulting in five numbers, with the 1 being ignored) before dropping the lowest of the remaining four, and keep the three highest (assuming the reroll wasn't another 1). Unfortunately, because DDB's forum is so buggy, I can't hover over the number to see (reliably) what the rolls were. Each time I do, it shows me different numbers. It does always show that a 1 was dropped, but that's not necessarily what was actually rolled — again, because of bugs.
@ddp: yeah, I did 🥲 But hey, it could be fun: there goes a character with a fair amount of DEX, just about enough INT, with a poor charisma and even poorer STR. Hell, she's going to need help if she wants to open that pickle jar. And thieving tools are so heavy ... it is good she has a mage hand, I guess.
(Okay, I may not get picked but this has been fun already, lol)
Name: Elyndra Starshade Link: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/130476221 Race: Astral Elf Classes: Druid (Circle of Stars), Cleric (Twilight Domain) Background: Astral Drifter (Sage/acolyte if not allowed to be astral drifter.) Backstory: Hailing from a tribe of elves that worshipped the sun and stars, Elyndra was taught the sacred rites, ancient songs, and the art of reading the stars to foresee omens and navigate the world. From a young age, Elyndra was a natural starseer, her dreams were often filled with visions of distant places and forgotten times. As she grew older, her dreams became more vivid. She saw a world engulfed in shadow and flame, and in the heart of this chaos, a dark ritual that threatened to tear the fabric of reality itself. Elyndra could not shake the feeling that she was meant to follow these visions. It was later, when she learned of the Last War and the Occult War that followed, battles fought in a distant land called Aarde. One night, as she arrived at the city of Ohdrid, tired and cold, she headed to a place called the Moonlit Stag. It was here, the stars whispered, that she would find the answers she sought, and so, Elyndra arrived at the Moonlit Stag, an astral elf driven by a vision and a destiny she could not yet fully understand.
If you're still recruiting I'd be interested in joining. I am fairly active though I haven't been on this site very much on recent time because I wasn't really in a game here for quite a while. I can post pretty regularly. At minimum once a day if not more (Will mostly depend on time zones).
I will send you a PM with character details and some questions, assuming you're still recruiting that is.
Rolling ability scores in the next post because DDB's dice roller can be ****y at times.

Hey, Fair. Did you reroll 1's always? The DM said to.
If he had rolled a 1, it would show up as red.
