You all manage to slip past the few groups near the keep. And even meet with another family of villagers. While they don't ask to join your group, they join the sprint past the keep's gate. Your group is the last one to enter the keep as it's gates close. Through the holes in the gate, you see more of the raiders join near the keep. You're safe, for now. And upon closer inspection, it seems Toremar has not been with your group. The villagers say that he went off to help others in the village.
J'eilil stands behind Reso, also interested in the answer. She keeps an eye on the gates, wondering if they would hold up against an organized attack by the bandits.

Z'ress is relieved that they are no longer out in the village where they could have run into more bandits while protecting the citizens of Greenest. "I wonder how these bandits managed to convicne a dragon to help them...."
"Maybe the dragon was already attacking, and the bandits just took advantage of the situation?" J'eilil suggests. She's not sure that's the case, but at least it's an idea.

The half drow nods even if she thinks that it would be unlikely as most would flee instead of trying to take advantage of a dragon. But as J'eilik had seemed to suggest it was just that a suggestion. "Perhaps but that is a stretch of the imagination to me at the very least."
Upon hearing who is in charge, Z'ress will make her way to him. As she walks towards him she plans to ask him if he kmows the where about of Leosin Erlanthar, the monk that had asked her to come to Greenest.
As you climb up to the parapet, you start to get a better view on Greenest, at the summit, it is the best way to see all the damage and when the dragon goes near the keep. You see a elderly man pacing at the top. He seems to be around sixty years old and is in a light blue tunic, stained with blood. Half of his head is wrapped in bandages, while his right arm is in a sling. He looks relieved to see you all. He approaches you all,
"Thank you for helping my people, I am forever in your debt. I'm Governor Nighthill, and I'm the one in charge of the village. And I'm sorry, but I have not seen Leosin for a while. He has not shown himself in the keep so I'm assuming he's still out there...hopefully he wasn't captured. And...did you capture a cultist? May I see to him, we may be able to find out more about this attack."
Z'ress grimaces when she is told that the other monk was not in the keep yet. Knowing the man though it was not unlikely that he was out continuing to save as many villagers as he possibly could. "Feel free to question the... cultist if you wish. Now please tell us more about them as we took them for being mere bandits."
(Warning, if you take a short rest you may not participate in any activities the group will be up to for the hour.)
"That's what I am hoping to find out. At first we thought them all to be bandits as well but," He points out to a spot in Greenest. There's a woman in the same similar purple robes, except a bit more ornate. She's surrounded by a dozen guards as they make their way through the village. "Along with the dragon attacking as well, they're too organized to be just common bandits and mercenaries. We can't very well hope to capture the woman but we may find out more since you caught one those folks with the purple robes. If you wish to join feel free, if you feel that you can not bare to see this, I'm sorry. I shall still share what info we obtain from the man after we're done. And I feel that I may ask you to do more for this village. Afterwards, I will help you with your search for Leosin or whatever you need and of course, award you all for your bravery."
Graxian listens to the conversation. "I do not wish to take part in this, but I will not stop you either. I will wait where it is safe to do so until it is done."
"I would like to be there when you interrogate him." J'eilil says. She doesn't bring up her missing friend, Talis, or the rumors that she was taken by dragon cultists. She'll bring it up after the interrogation if it seems relevant.

Reso turns to the villagers, searching for an elder or a leader. "Who's in charge here? is there anyone who can tell me how strong this keep is?"

The villagers inside point to a man upon the parapet of the keep. That he is the one in charge.
