I've been on phone calls for the last 4 hours, and now have to act on the information that I have, so I won't be able to update Sera-Nare's side of the story until after I get back from my errands. But I haven't forgotten about you!
At Merkas's speed (using double move) he's about 60' from the main chamber. I'm waiting for Hastos to pick his treasure before uploading a map or describing more. Plus I'm beat. Today was a really really rough day.

Items sent through DM! Let me know if I need repick anything!
I’ll go ahead and post in the IC and will just retcon if you need me to change anything.
i’m glad you made it through your shit day. Grab some well earned rest.
”I’m pretty sure the Ancient Magus is fine, they’re pretty powerful and wouldn’t fall for any mind tricks or charming or anything, even Sera is strong willed enough to fight off any strange suggestions and stuff, pretty sure she would have killed off two or three before any of them got the better of her”
For this situation, if your new treasure requires you to attune to it, consider it attuned. You're still limited by standard rules on how many items you may have attuned. But let's just get you geared up for now. We'll remember attunment rules for the future though. This is just a one-time thing (with the exception of cursed items).
Also... y'all are silly. 😆 Thank you for making me laugh today. I needed that.
Just to be clear, the cult leader does not seem to be including Nare in this deal. Ne-haredowell is still an outsider to the cult leader... more a pest to the cult leader than a hero. If you choose to take the offer, they'll need to be negotiated in. If Ne-haredowell is officially accepted into the Golden Company, then they'll be under the protection of the cult.
Okay this is a interesting thing about roleplay. A NPC use her skill against a character and succeed. I find this especialy interesting for mental and social happenings.
So the High priestess of Sargonnas is very persuasive. Even I as player think that joining a group that plan go gerilla and kill off enemy and animate them to an big undead army is horrible...the npc rolled high on her skill. My character rolled low to resist and loose the social dispute...so..... i should adjust and change my character as the rules tell me of the result.
This is so challenging as it go out of the "habit" or the idea how my character would act. I thought about why i initatlly resisted the idea since it do move over to character agency and how I can influence the game with my character. Now a npc convinced her.
But it is a oppertunity to play a character that act not as I intended. Let the story unfold...

Interesting
Ooh! Your brain is cooking! I like that.
Persuasion doesn't take away autonomy. It's not a compulsion spell. Persuasion can cause you to have clarity to the perspective of the person your are disagreeing with though. If your character would not... would NEVER, join the Sargonnas cult, then no dice result... even a 100... can change that. But it might change the way your character sees the cult leader.
Perhaps, instead of seeing the cult leader as a vile, moustache-twirling villain, you see the cult leader as a lost soul... hurting... frightened... consumed by loss and hatred. Perhaps you understand how her strategy, however opposed to your values, could possibly work to defeat the Dragon Armies. So you understand why she's trying it this way, even if the cost is too great for your to consider. She may need to be brought to justice, or even slain, but she's not actually an enemy... not in the sense that the Dragon Armies are. To the black-and-white mind of a Lawful Good Cleric, this must be a mentally and emotionally straining concept to Sera... enough to establish a core memory about morality and justice in her mind, which is part of why I gave you Advantage to resist the plea.
It's been an ongoing theme in this campaign. The Letni Inhelk stole the goods, but they're not a bad clan. They have an extremely important mission that supercedes the value of the truce they had with the Hachakee. The people of Santekh are fighting for a world free of a global-dominating fascist regime, but their pain clouds their judgement sometimes. Even Hastos, Sera's lover, served in the Dragon Armies. It begs the questions: who is and is not worthy of forgiveness and compassion? Who deserves to die? Who doesn't deserve to die, but must die anyway?? Or worse, who doesn't deserve to live, but must live anyway?
I'm not making those choices for you or your characters. I'm just asking the questions. You determine your characters' story arcs, and I'll post the consequences of those choices. But a True Neutral person, or a Neutral Evil person (two alignments that would've rolled with Disadvantage) might've joined the cult, at least long enough to escape alive, get equipped, and then maybe expose them later... a strategy that could work in this situation.
All this Persuasion check does is change your understanding of the cult and the cult leader. I've listed a couple of ways it could affect your perception of them. But you now know that they aren't as simple as just an evil cult that seeks unfocused death and destruction. They are complicated people, with trauma, pain, fear, and anger. Perhaps they need better guidance. A general in their army who can show them a better way could possibly do that... or become corrupted in the process. Perhaps they need to be destroyed to give them peace, but at what cost to your own soul? Can Sera sleep through the nightmares, knowing she slaughtered a group of people who were following the only god that bothered to answer their prayers? Perhaps they need to stand trial. But will justice be served if the Sanktekh council and the Hachakee are now under suspicion? Maybe, they need to be exposed, forgiven, and retrained by the Golden Company, or by the more merciful teachings of Paladine... perhaps a high-ranking cleric (5-6 is pretty powerful in this region... people tend to die young around here)? But how will you balance that equation socially? Ororana's reaction in the room where they discovered water (though Sera doesn't know about that yet) is just a small foreshadowing of what could result from exposing the cult and then forgiving them. The townsfolk may not share your forgiving attitude, and there could be a bloodbath just one day after the supplies came in.
It's quite a quandary. But the choice is up to you and your characters to make. Paladine commissioned you to cleanse the rot. I'm on the edge of my seat to see how you interpret that, Larskolstad.
I did it blend into her upbringing of serving street gangs, criminals she at times really disliked but had to do for survival....and her fathers words how a knight might serve people they do not like or agree with. Sometimes the odds just are stacked at you and you take the loss and let others decide untill time is right of a other way.
So destroying the Cult seems to be a way of destroy a good chance of stopping Thakisis. So Sargonnas is more active than her god. She will accept that and serve toward a shared goal.
I'll be honest... I didn't know what Sera would do, and I've got chills.
I want to respond immediately, but I'm going to see what Hastos and Nare (at least) do first. Merkas, of course, can join in, but he hasn't overheard the conversation. When Ororana hears this, she isn't going to like this one bit. She's got trauma associated to cults.
Hastos has overheard your decision to speak for Golden Company in joining the Cult of Sargonnas, and MrUncleTio and SunDial365 deserve a chance to process and post before I do.
Oh shit, I forgot I had advantage on attacks. ROFL, I re-rolled the first attack… “9”. I was meant to miss on that first swing.
