See, now I don't know which one of the cool new magic weapons to take. They're both so cool.
It appears both are on the offering table, and monks are basically ambidextrous. You can still hold your walking stick with your brass knuckle hand, and since they're all monk weapons, you can swap them out mid-combat during a flurry of blows. Sharn, the juggling monk. But you don't have to take anything you don't want.
Aww Gramma Kasi gave me a hot water bottle to help me sleep. Would packing a bunch of sand in the cart keep the skull burning it? Or will it have cooled enough that we can handle it but not wear it?
The bones conduct heat and resist it well, but don't generate heat on their own. So the skull is already cool enough to wear. In fact, all the bones are still in good condition, if you wish to keep them. It's the organs that will be too hot to handle for the rest of the day. Bringing them onto the cart, even encased in sand, risks burning a hole in the wood. You'll need a solid case that is fire resistant, or you can wait until the afternoon, when they're hot, but no longer a fire risk. By the end of the day, they'll be cool as normal meat and organs would be after being butchered.
Sounds good. Seems lime it’s best to take the bones and claws but leave the flesh and such. If it’s here when we get back maybe it’ll be an okay meal for the strider.
Hey folks, sorry for the light post, I’ve got some chores this morning that need to be done. I’ll flesh out/ catch up Hastos later today. Good luck, Merkas!
Okay now I have a mental picture of Merkas jumping up and down to get back the muzzle and the Strider just stand tall and look confused down at the short blue Kender...
Question, do the jackal knuckles have a damage die of their own or is it a +1/+1 to my regular fists? Also, do they count as monk weapons?
Merkas rolled so friggin high on his check, that I decided to boost the properties of the weapon.
+1/+1 to regular fist attacks. You can use your Unarmed Strike proficiency with the weapon. Successful attack grants a Bonus Action to use Bite Attack (1d4-1) or Successful attack grants the user the ability to use Infestation (limit one use per day, and the ability refreshes at night in correlation with the timing of the spell infusion, and does not advance with levels).
If you decide you like it, and want to improve its quality, you can do so by having it reforged and modified. The metal is steel from the arrowheads, so it can even be melted down and made into something entirely new. Kasi knows how to do this, but lacks magical skill to perform the infusion. You'll need a caster to do more than make it a +2/+2 weapon and so on. Anyone with magical ability can do this, and a book of spells increases the options for what you can infuse it with.
I'm going to make a magic item for you in the homebrew section, but it needs a name. What would you like to call it?
Also, Smashy Smash was a huge success! We devastated that TV so fast, I had to bring in a spare! A TV fell off our wall last year and busted the motherboard, so we stored it in our shed until an opportunity presented itself to unleash hell.
My spouse has been really frustrated with work, so they went to WAR on the big TV. My son is a hormonal teenager, so naturally, he handled business like a raging barbarian. And the rest of us enjoyed reducing what was left to rubble. Once both TVs were reduced to little bits, we all worked together to sweep it up and put it into bins for the Thursday trash pick up. Then we went inside for some barbecue pork shoulder, baked potatoes, deviled eggs, and wine. We ended up talking well into the night, way after I passed out. I forgot about daylight savings time, and had to wake up an hour earlier this morning, sore from head to toe. 🤭
Believe it or not, the smaller TV was the bigger challenged. It had a pretty thick aluminum frame that would. not. break. I went to work with our horseman's mace and crowbar and finally splintered a hole it it big enough for us to tear it apart with the rest of our tools. Good fun! It'll be a while before we round up enough roadside trash to do it again, but that's ok. I don't have the back health to do it very often. But it's always fun when I can.

Character: Hastos, Ibahalii Vriwhulth, the Reaper of Glory v2: IC Thread
But seems Sharn not enjoy cut and slice. Not draw blood. Perhaps give old quarterstaff another chance?
Happy you made a post. :)
Sorry it’s a little long but Merkas had some things to finish up, I didn’t like leaving things hanging for to long
Loyalty Begets Honour
I like read long posts :)
oki who goes first with the 10 foot pole?
:D
now we approaching our FIRST dungeoun. yay
If the sword was offered to Hastos, and no one else wants it, I’ll take it. Would Merkas like to have it though?
Character: Hastos, Ibahalii Vriwhulth, the Reaper of Glory v2: IC Thread
Sera got a spare shield for Hastos. And she tried study the sword a bit more to find out what it might do. ( awaits the DM to reveal more about it )
Seems smart Hastos use the sword.
What would go and attack a 20 feet dinosaur Merkas?? Even with a muzzle. You took off the muzzle before you succeded taming it? You take risks.
( imagine I hear the evil chuckle from the DM )

11 animal handling. Much better than the 4 I got earlier, so thankful I rolled a 4 on the valentines chocolate to boost it.

FYI, just rolled for investigation (18) to help look for traps as we go into the cave.
