Ahh yeah it’s to have the Statue hit with Disadvantage. Also if anything he can possibly lead the Statue away from the others. There’s a staircase nearby. Maybe he can trip it? Using rope as improvised trip wire or cast Gust.
Idk I know the statue is immune to being prone, but it would buy some time if it fell. (I hope)
also in case the Eidolon inside the statue ever got out, then it couldn’t do its Frightening spell since you have to SEE it for it to work.
Nare also just got really scared and what’s the best way to hide: in the darkness.

Sorry for going MIA! Thank you to DM for getting Hastos moving when I couldn’t! As I mentioned to DM, things got a little nuts IRL, but things have settled down.
Yeah you been holding onto a health potion since merkas was knocked out, drink it already, also Merkas needs a Jiminy Cricket or else his crazy ideas are only going to get worse.
I should remind you that the room that Merkas, Hastos, and Ororana are in is water-tight. You could flood the sewers right now, and at most, the floor will get slowly damp. You could be down there all day, and be no more than up to your ankes in water. But opening the door after the chamber is flooded will be impossible. It opens out towards the sewer for that very reason. Should the sewers be flooded before the door is open, the door will have to be physically damaged enough to flood the small chamber. Then, it will be as if a damn burst. Anyone inside will suffer severe bludgeoning damage and be underwater instantly.
Also... Sera and Nare will be in danger of getting flushed up the tunnel like a reverse water slide too, if they are going back in. It's gonna hurt. I'll allow Acrobatics or Athletics checks to reduce the damage.

MAN I just realized Nare has Lucky Footwork which would’ve added a d4 to any DEX saving throw. Anything more than a 1 would’ve saved him against the super low DC 6

Here goes all or nothing. Sera cannot seriously leave anyone behind. Orera she belived had a dodge skill she could use to get away. But now the rest is cut off...that is different..
As for using magical items not needing attunment. Like horn of blasting and Deck of illusions I belive it either got some easy to understand instructions on them . Magical transfered knowledge how it works..or just are famous items everyone talk about. In the lore of that society.

Ororana is, with the exception of a magical necklace, a magical greataxe, and half a dozen potions, a Cultist until she's (IC) added to the guild, then gets a long rest. If she takes a long rest before levelling up, she'll remain a Cultist because her XP will reset. Also, she's not a Sargonnas Cultist. She belonged to a different cult outside of Santekh. You can totally know her stat block and what she's generally capable of, if that helps with your team strategy.

The description of it is that it is an Illusion that behaves exactly as the real creature would except that it can do no harm. Most of a Beholder's abilities don't directly do any harm:
Antimagic Cone (technically harmless), might have a damaging effect to the hold the Eidelon has on the Sacred Statue, but it wouldn't technically harm either.
Charm Ray
Paralyzing Ray
Fear Ray
Slowing Ray
Telekinetic Ray
That's a lot of rays it can (and would) use if it were a real version of itself. But I'm unclear on whether or not an illusion can actually perform these abilities. The language of the Deck of Illusions implies that it can, so I'm going to post as if it can. But the rays are shot out at random. So, if it one of the rays it can't use is selected, the ray will simply fail to work, and still count as a ray usage.
Fun fact! This is the first time (and I've been playing for almost 2 decades) I've ever gotten to use a beholder! So... new territory!
I do recall something about how illusions work. it is what you belive it to be...so if you belive that illusion ofa Beholder..it petrefies you by making you belive it can do so. As long you belive the creature is real. The special abilities give a visual effect the victim sees and victim behave as the abilities was there. In this case u stand still act like its eye rays work on you. ( now laying still and beliving you are dead might give a test with advantage...since u are not dead , but up to the DM )
