She became a hermit, living in the forests outside of Elturel when her parents died, leaving her with debts that she could not repay. While in the wilds, she discovered an affinity with the natural world, and she built a new family outside of the strict confines of civilization. She has learned to meditate deeply, and she wears the veil to help her focus on her thoughts and on her other senses to perceive the world around her. Character Name: Snow Class and Subclass: Ranger - Drakewarden Stats: 1091517913 Race: White Dragonborn Roll twice on the trinket table (1d100 - I can tell you what you get): 127
Any other information you want to include:
Background - Archaeologist
Snow, a white dragonborn, grew up in the frozen wilderness, honing his skills as a ranger. The icy mountains and dense forests were both his home and training ground, where he learned to survive and navigate the harsh environment. Driven by a fascination with ancient ruins, Snow explored forgotten sites, using his tracking skills to uncover lost artifacts. During one such journey, while investigating an abandoned temple buried in snow, he discovered a mysterious gemstone in an alcove. The moment he touched it, visions of a majestic dragon soaring through the skies, with him riding it, filled his mind. Fascinated by the vision, Snow set out to uncover the secrets behind the gemstone.
I rolled 67 and 27 for trinkets. 'A gold monocle frame without the lens', and 'A shard of obsidian that always feels warm to the touch' respectively. I think the obsidian one might make sense considering my backstory. I could replace the gemstone with obsidian.
Any other information you want to include: Available Fridays and Saturdays; rest of the week is subject to working hours (available upon request), though I try to be as active as possible.
Character Name: Sahir Dayie Class and Subclass: Wizard, school of Illusion Stats: Standard Array, laid out for a wizard Race: Eladrin, but can change to a "normal" elf if preferred Roll twice on the trinket table (1d100 - I can tell you what you get): 89 and 32 Character Sheet (Only if you have one ready!):https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/109756871 -- This was made for another game that never went forward, and can be rewound to Level 1 if chosen for this game
Any other information you want to include:A traveler from a distant nation, Sahir was raised in what he thought was a school of wizardry, but what turned out to be a training school for illusion-based thievery, so he left, or more accurately, escaped, because nobody is allowed to leave the School of Dancing Lights, and has made his way to this strange land. He's come to research Illusion completely, and learn the fullness of what it has to offer, beyond tricking people and picking their pockets. He's interested in finding something to believe in after being raised in a world of deception.
An RP-heavy thread would be very fun, since I'm mostly in it for the story. I've been playing since the "blue book" days of the late 70s, and have DMd for almost that long.
Character Name: Garrick Rahum Class and Subclass: Barbarian (Plan on going Storm Herald) Stats: (Rolled) Race: Human Roll twice on the trinket table (1d100 - I can tell you what you get): 95 (54 and 31 incase "dice got manipulated" error) Character Sheet (Only if you have one ready!): https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/137539815/IshqXe Any other information you want to include: Garrick was born and raised in the small village of Rothe to a family of loggers, just to the east of Neverwinter. Like most of the other kids in town he made friends, had relationships, and went through his teens like anyone else, while also helping out his family with their business... Providing wood to Neverwinter. It wasn't a wealthy business, but it was honest work. When he was in his late teens, him, his girlfriend at the time Karissa, and some friends, had ventured out towards the coast for an outing, most of which went just fine. However during one of the last nights, a storm kicked up, waking them all up from their slumber. When Garrick looked around, he couldn't find Karissa. Worried, he started wandering around, calling her name into the wind, but unfortunately the rain made it very difficult to see, and he stumbled off the cliff edge and into the raging water below.
Garrick was a decent swimmer, but not in water like this... He was able to tread water for a minute or two before a large wave knocked him into the cliff wall and knocked him unconscious. When he woke, the storm was gone, the sun was out and he was laid out on a nearby beach. Something was different but he wasn't sure what... That wasn't until he saw his reflection in the water... He was older, much older. Almost 20 or 30 years older, not only that, but he had tattoos covering his face and body, but how... He wasn't sure. Confused and scared, he rushed back to Rothe, where he was met with confused glances... No one recognized him, and anyone he said his name to, just called him crazy. It wasn't until he started to ask about his friends and family when people started to take him seriously. When he went to the one place he was certain he'd be recognized... His home... He found it empty, and after a couple conversations he confirmed the worst. His family had passed on, not by 10 years after his disappearance. His mother from a sickness, and his father to an Orc raid. When he asked about Karissa, he was informed that she had left for Neverwinter not shortly after his had disappeared.
Not feeling like his home was home anymore, and not feeling ready to go to Neverwinter and try and find Karissa, he fled north into the woods. Building himself a small cabin and taking back up the trade his family had instilled in him. This he did for several years, living off the land and occasionally selling wood to Rothe. It was at this point that he felt ready... Ready to find Karissa, and ready to answer some questions... Why did he survive something that surely should have killed him, and why did he lose so much time...

Gotta go with Set 2 - who doesn't love those negative scores!!! (no but for real, going with Set 2, cause I love characters that suck at stuff😂)

I am interested and plan to build a character for this today! It does look like you’ve already got a nice variety to choose from- I’d be willing to play any type of character, not just the one I’ll build for this!

Character Name: Lymber O’Leary Class and Subclass: Bard- would likely use the story until level 3 to decide subclass Stats: 9, 11, 13, 13, 13, 12 Ability scores, rolled Race: Forest gnome
Roll twice on the trinket table (1d100 - I can tell you what you get): 738(I’m going to save these rolls next time I edit in case the roller screws up) (It was 38 and 36) Character Sheet (Only if you have one ready!):https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/137542112(This was very hastily made and can be edited) Any other information you want to include: He was not born as Lymber O’Leary- he was born as Lumber O’Leary. He changed his name to have a stage name, but also to disassociate himself from where he’s from (this information can be fleshed out with the DM). He wants to learn about the world by traveling and having new experiences, and teach about the world by performing entertaining stories through song. He is hoping that if he is good enough, these two dreams will help each other out- he can get opportunities to go new places and learn new things because of his success performing.
I’ll explain a bit why I’d love to join- my D&D experience is still relatively limited. I’ve been in a couple of in-person campaigns for two years now. I’ve technically been in a couple PbP ones, but the one I’ve been in for over a year now on D&Dbeyond is the only one that counts to me (it’s the only one that has lasted). It’s been the best experience for me, and this sounds like it could be similar to that. I really love long-running campaigns that are focused on the story and characters, and that allow the character backstories to tie in to the main story. However, I understand if you’ve got a different combination of players in mind- I’ve auditioned and been rejected from enough musicals to never take that sort of thing personally! I wish the best for this campaign either way!
I've not made any hard and fast decisions yet. Everyone has given me a lot to ponder on. Also, I may increase the size of the party to 6.
PBP is certainly less spontaneous than table games, but it's far easier to delve into the story. I'll probably give it until end of play tomorrow (once I'm home from work), then I'll close the thread and make some decisions.
And, again. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to apply!
So, a big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to apply, I'm sorry that I wont be able to find a space for all of you. I'll be taking stock over the next few days and will be in contact. Applications are now closed. Thanks once again.
I have now PM'd everyone I've selected with the campaign links. For those of you I've not messaged, thank you for your time. I'm sorry I couldn't include everyone, and you made it a very difficult decision indeed (which is why it has taken a bit of time) - I really hate having to disappoint people.
I'll bear you all in mind if things don't work out going forwards. Thanks again guys

This is a little closer to Dhu :
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
