Beyond the shattered safe room of the Lambent Zenith is a huge oval chamber (55' x 40') with walls of purple flesh dimly lit by pinkish, bioluminescent orbs. The air reeks of death. An opening in the southeast wall leads to another chamber. There is a pile of detritus from the ship piled against the western wall. DC15 Perception:
A character who searches through the detritus uncovers a gilded spyglass worth 1,000 gp.
Vanizi continues along, moving into the next chamber. Seeing the pile of detritus, she figures they should look through it. "You think the rod might be here?" she asks Davis. (Perception w/Dis: 20)
"Ah! This seems interesting," she says as she pulls a gilded spyglass out of the pile. She uses her Eldritch Sight (Detect Magic) to inspect it as she examines it more closely.
It is an ordinary, although exquisitely adorned, tool, most likely from the wreck!

The walls and floor of this massive chamber alternate between gray, petrified stone and flexing muscle and flesh. This 75' x 75' roughly triangular area is divided into two chambers by towers of hardened flesh that were once valves, with three 5'-10' wide places to move between areas. There is a passage to another chamber at the far western end. (Map)
Clinging to the ceiling is a huge, serpentine monstrosity, like a skinless snake. Its long, draconic snout drips with venom as it slumbers.
Vesta doesn't want to take any chances with the huge, serpentine monster on the ceiling. She points her staff of power at the creature and casts Hold Monster at it! DC 19 WIS saving throw or become paralyzed!
(Great, Zyl isn't happy with the smell at all but at least not poisoned. :D )
[Davis has poison resistance, would that help here?]
(Unfortunately, poison resistance does NOT counter the poisoned condition.)
