Vesta casts Burning Hands 2nd level at the beast, dealing 21 fire damage on a failed save. She will spend 3 sorcery points to make it a Heightened spell and give the monster disadvantage on its saving throw. DC 20 Dexterity saving throw.

Round 2: Zyllynne howls back at the mutated bear and brings the smackdown! (ouch!!) Vesta begins casting another spell, only to have the beast swipe at her again in an attempt to disrupt the spell (Attack: 14 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. . On a hit, make a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw or the spell fails and has no effect. if you pass, the blazebear has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects, so it's save is a straight roll. DC20 Dex (if needed) 8) Davis(can he find his way back through the mist? Make a 1d4 roll as part of your action if you move!) Vanizisteps in and engages the melee, a green-flamed greatsword adding to the damage caused by Zyl's greataxe! Beast(-155 at this point!! =O
Vanizi again casts Green-Flame Blade as she strikes at the bear with her sword. (Greatsword Attack: 15, Damage: 11 slashing + 15 fire/green-flame + 4 necrotic/hex)
She then calls on her Maddening Hex ability to create a psychic disturbance around the bear. (5 psychic damage)
The party's fast attacks and massive damage quickly put the beast down, and silence returns to the Mournland once again. (Combat over!)
It takes another few hours, but you finally reach Ialos. The warforged sentry allows you to enter, but informs you that Mercy is in recharge mode. This allows you to find a spot to hunker down and get some rest.
Vesta shudders and declines to further inspect the remains of the monstrous bear. She is grateful to rest inside Ialos, safe from the dangers of this strange and fascinating world.

"Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere." ~ Albert Einstein
(Sorry for the extended wait...busy weekend and early week!) On the world of Eberron, many strange, magic-warped monsters have emerged from the depths of the war-wracked Mournland. The blazebear is one such monster, so named for its hulking, ursine figure and the glow of its eyes. This glow is magical energy that saturates the blazebear’s entire body. Swipes from a blazebear’s claws dole out painful wounds and can end spells, and its gaze can stun prey. Luckily you were not on the receiving end of that gaze!
In the morning, Mercy greets you as warmly as warforged can - at least the construct doesn't just stand there staring at you until you choose to talk! "How did your negotiations with the Cyrans conclude? Will they leave us in peace?"
Waking after a good rest, Vanizi is pleased to see Mercy. "Yes! The negotiations went great! They are very willing to trade and continue to work together to bring you the warforged related items you seek in return for the other things you might find. I think it will work out well!"
Davis nods as Vanizi explains the situation. "You keep the sacred items and they will gladly take the items you don't want. A win win situation for you both. Is it possible for us to see a Dolcent now, we'd love to find our missing item. Appreciate all your help Mercy."
Mercy thanks you for this arrangement and offers you a Ring of Feather Falling from the storeroom as a token of the pilgrims' favor. She then lifts the operating Docent from its place of honor in the room and hands it to you. “You may borrow this sacred relic for your quest, but you must return it to us when you have found what you seek. I have heard tales of an unusual colossus called Landro powered not by a Docent, but by a device called a graymatter engine that incorporated part of an artifact—perhaps that is what you seek? The graymatter engine was reported to generate a magical barrier around Landro, making it impossible to enter the colossus except where the barrier has already been broken.”
When you touch the rod piece to the Docent, the piece emits a loud, metallic ping. Then, the piece points in a direction that you assume is where you will find the third rod piece! (Feel free to add any parting comments, then I'd like the party marching order. Doesn't have to be a straight line, but you do need to remember the swirling mists that obscure your sight =)
"We will be very careful with the docent and will return it to you as soon as we can," Vesta promises, examining the sacred relic with great curiosity and reverence.
As the party leaves Ialos in search of the next rod piece, the sorceress keeps toward the back but perhaps not the very last person in line (second to last if possible).

(I'm going to assume with all of us surrounding the beast that Zyl can get flanking somehow, if not I'll edit this later)
Zyl is all smiles as she screams in her rage though, "No dessert for you, you big ugly brute!"
Action: attack!
Attack 1: 22 to hit; 18 + 6 + 3 = 27 thunder damage
Attack 2: 30 to hit; 13 + 2 + 3 = 18 thunder damage
Davis continues! (i'm assuming we are not at disadvantage? if we are I can reroll that)
Holy Avenger!
18 dmg: 16
22 dmg: 12

"That was a very strange bear," Vanizi says. "Is that how everything in this place looks?"
Back to Ialos, she is glad to get some rest as they wait for Mercy.

Before they left the Bear, Davis would have inspected it out of shear curiosity.

"This whole place is a bit disconcerting. Let's get some rest and hopefully get a lock on the rod piece tomorrow."
Though the camp seems safe enough, Davis will sleep with one eye open!
Zyl was all smiles going back and settling down anywhere to wait, munching on another brownie.
