Dex save 15, taking 8fire damage. Bees rolls out of the way but isn't fast enough to avoid the caster's fiery hands. The magical fire burns the black bearded halfling, sending him crashing to the dungeon's damp floor unconscious.
Samosh throws his hands hands in the air, "Come on kid, you're not supposed to play with fire. Didn't your momma tell you that?" Then he uses his Healer's Kit to stabilize Bees.

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
The slightest of frowns mars Liatris' otherwise serene visage as Bees falls to the flames. Yet as much as might've wanted to provide some assistance, each cog had its purpose, and her purpose continued to be providing long range support, especially after the casting aside of her dagger. Even so...
"Take her down, but stay spread out as much as you can."She says, prior to once more presenting her shield and launching from some internal compartment within it a vial of specially made acid at Fiennis. Then, against her better judgement, she marches down the hallway stopping just northeast of fallen swarm, if put to be better position to provide more direct aid if another should fall.
Action: Cast (Cantrip)Acid Splash at Swarm of Rats. Dex Save(DC 13) or take 2 Acid Damage.
Movement: To 5ft northeast of Swarm of Skeletal Rats original position on map.
(OOC: Nevermind the Tasha's Caustic Brew Damage in they roller. That was before I realized the swarm was dead already thanks to Samosh, and was meant to be an alternative had they still been alive and Samosh positioned himself to the immediate east of Bees' position)

The breath hitches in Threnody's throat as she watches another of her comrades crash to the ground. She prays Bees still draws breath and Kaster will be able to rouse him - she'd come to care for the halfling, and every hand will surely be needed to triumph over this foul necromancer in her lair. But as she stares into the witch's eyes, Threnody begins to wonder if they are hopelessly outmatched. Is retreat an option?
The question lingers in the paladin's mind even as she brings her spear around once again, this time whizzing towards the hag's legs - a strike meant to hamstring and cripple. At the last second, Threnody draws deep from the well: a surge of energy, the blessing of the Doombringer and her holy oath to bring terrible justice upon the wicked, courses through her steel. When the spear connects, it glows with a blistering radiance that sears through the necromancer's flesh.
ACTION: Attack with Spear. To hit: 21 Damage: 10 SPECIAL: Divine Smite. Expending a level 1 spell slot for +2d8 radiant damage: 11. An additional 1d8 if the necromancer is undead or a fiend: 1 BONUS ACTION: None. MOVEMENT: None.
Kaster rushes to Bees' side, rudely (unintentionally) shoving Samosh aside even as they start to dig out their healer's kit. Pulling out the holy symbol of the Refined Unified Religious Order, which basically looks like a plain circle, Kaster presses it to the forehead of Bees and quickly utters a prayer beseeching the powers around to heal their fallen child...
Cure Wounds: 6 pts of healing to Bees
(Not sure if DM will allow Samosh to do something besides what they had planned as the healer's kit isn't needed?)
[[OOC: Since Kaster healed me before my death save, I will adjust my post. Thank you, good sir!]]
Bees draws a deep breath as he comes to consciousness. He sees Kaster above him looking down, and the memory of the fire floods into his mind. The gruff halfing feels for his beard to ensure it's still there; it is. 'Thank goodness,' Bees thinks as he verbalizes his thanks to Kaster. "Thanks, friend."
He recognizes the danger they're still in and jumps to his feet. Finding his weapons, he strikes out at the necromancer again, intent on ending this threat. Sheathing his dagger, Bees stabs with his shortsword. He then moves away from melee.

Kaster rushes over to Bees, pushing Samosh out of the way in the process, and proceeds to ease the halfling's burns with soothing magic.
Liatris launches a vial of acid at the necromancer, and it splashes in her face, sizzling burns on her cheeks. She howls.
Threnody attacks with her spear, aiming for Flennis' legs. The weapon makes contact with a sickening crunch and then radiant energy blooms. As the radiance touches Flennis, she screams, the magic incinerating her where she stands. After a few moments the screaming stops and Flennis topples over, a blackened husk...
Even as Threnody launches her attack, Bees pops up, ready to fight again, and he sinks his shortsword deep into the necromancer's chest for good measure. You can never be too sure with necromancers after all.
Combat is over! Congratulations on making it to Level 3!!
Bees removes his sword from the evil caster's chest and cleans it off using the bottom of his cloak. As the gruff halfling sheaths his sword, he turns to Kaster and says, "Thanks again, brother. I thought for sure I was done for." His voice is deep and gravelly.
He looks around the room for a moment to take in his surroundings. "Everyone okay?"Bees asks, the irony not lost on him that he most definitely is not okay. 'Too close for comfort,' he thinks to himself. Sitting on some nearby rubble, Bees asks, "Mind if I sit to catch my breath for a few minutes?"
"Just doing the gods work," Kaster answers to Bees. "Good to do something I'm good at, at least. Well, not good that you got hurt but... well... You know what I mean."
Other than that, Kaster takes up position in the room with his crossbow ready, guarding against any intruders. Well, he supposed he and his group are the intruders but... Well, you know what he means.
(If we're gaining a level I assume we get those HP now? But I wouldn't want to assume we can get a short rest in here without someone stumbling by... But Kaster is willing to play guard while you all try if you want.)
Liatris cautiously stalked her way closer to the fallen necromancer, and had Threnody or the others not gone out of their way to further mutilate the body, a moment would be taken to try and examine the necromancer's face. "Hmm... The acid scoring might make things difficult, but there's yet enough there that replication may yet be.... Yes, that might--" She pauses from softspoken analysis to squint at the body, then shook her head. "We can afford a short respite. Enough for some of you to bandage your wounds and so forth. I myself-" She looks again to the body. "Need some time as well. There are tools I need to prepare, as I just had an idea."She admits as much, then began rummaging around the necromancer's person for anything that could be of use or repurposed.
Even as she did so, Liatris carried on: "Several by technicalities, but regardless... Threnody, could you move the body out of direct view of the entryway once I'm done. As for the rest of you, I would recommend doing much the same. With any luck, should other cultist or their associates pass through the area, they'll dismiss the fallen's presence as nothing more than her having absconded elsewhere."
Once the short rest is officially underway, Liatris tucks herself into a corner, dug out various bits and bobs from her bag of holding, and began setting to work on some convoluted handicraft project. Though notably as she worked, there are moments in which she either traced small magical sigils in the air before pressing them into her craft, creating in time a set of smith's tools of all things!
At 3rd level, you learn how to produce exactly the tool you need: with thieves’ tools or artisan’s tools, you can magically create one set of artisan’s tools in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you. This creation requires 1 hour of uninterrupted work, which can coincide with a short or long rest. Though the product of magic, the tools are nonmagical, and they vanish when you use this feature again.

Samosh lets out a breath of relief. "Whoo, these old bones need a rest. I'll keep an eye open but I'll just.*grunt* park it here for a bit." He takes up a space on the floor to rest.
"Take whatever time you need to patch yourselves up." Threnody says to Bees and the others who sustained injuries. "That was an arduous battle."
The paladin moves to the necromancer's unfortunate subject laid out on the table, the corpse the must have been busy experimenting on before the party's violent interruption. She proceeds to ensure that the body is not undead, then empties its pockets for identification and other items of interest. She also searches the table for valuables, then acquiesces to Liatris' request, moving the carcass out of sight.
"I doubt we need to worry about covering our tracks for other cultists. We've burned their tapestries, slain numerous cultists, and razed their altars. If anyone comes looking, it couldn't be more obvious that they have unexpected visitors." Threnody says, raising a sceptical brow. The time for subtlety was long past. Nevertheless, she slings the dead necromancer over one shoulder and dumps her in a dim corner of the room, behind a pillar and out of immediate view from the corridor.
The tiefling then proceeds to stand guard as the rest of the party tend to their wounds, meditating on the oath she took long ago, a silent sentinel with spear and shield in hand.
