No I don't know who it was, I suppose they might be sick. I'm here just to keep replenishing the drinks trolleys. I'll go and ask the barman in the buffet. Do you think you can double for the two at the moment? She whispered.
During their tour, Kyreth updates Delilah on their activities - the lute, the gems, exhibits and traps, the skylight, and Exa's investigations of the room. "The bag is now under your table if we need it in a hurry."
"Thank you, well done Kyreth, it seems you have everything covered so far. Don't you want the bag for the acquisitions you and Exa will make though?" Lady Graham says with a polite tone and a calm smile to the blue-skinned tiefling.
"You are right of course, again, well done Kyreth, I'm sure I will enjoy myself tonight." Lady Graham says with a polite tone and a calm smile to the blue-skinned tiefling.
The tiefling gives the slightest of smirks and bows in greeting to Lady Graham, shaking off the slight pre-show jitters as he starts a relaxing ambient tune.
A woman who looked like the Curator came into the exhibit and moved her name tag from a table and brought it over to Lady Grahams table. She whispered into Lady Grahams ear. I told you that I could only stay a while, is everything set? It was her eyes that gave her away, the illusion had changed everything else. Althea.
She carefully slid her red silk reticule onto the table, and gestured at Exa, wine please.
"The dress, it is not too frumpy I hope?" Lady Graham discreetly says to the minstrel with a slightly concerned tone without looking at him as she slowly passes, her hands moving over red silk gown. "I'm aware the fate of the city is at stake but in the end style is everything, don't you think?" She continues quietly, flashing the minstrel a quick smile and a wink behind her mask. "I suppose I should mingle, looking forward to the show." She says quietly and moves on to do just that, making quite casual talk about the museum and the exhibition, curious to catch up on the latest gossip in the City of Wonders too. After all, there was nothing wrong with enjoying your work.
"Thank you Kyreth for escorting me and making necessary preparations. Since the doctor will be at the alley at 10 bells you would need to go to the Sage's Quill and wait there once the show is over." Lady Graham says quietly to the tiefling student.
The eyes of Lady Graham widens ever so slightly behind the mask as she hears Althea's voice in her ear where the curator stands, but she quickly surmises what has happened. "I believe so, the others have done and excellent job preparing as far as I can tell. I believe we are as preapred as need be and if there are still unforseen obstacles I am certain we can handle those too." She discreetly answers with calm confidence.
Althea carefully handed over her reticule to Lady Graham, Here, this has a guard schedule for after hours, another pass and a master key. There is also a tiny key, though what it opens I'm not sure, perhaps one of the cabinets. She continued to say in a lowered voice. Then I shall drink a glass of wine and leave you to it.
"Frumpy?" he murmurs, voice low and rich with amusement. "My lady, you could outshine the chandelier itself without trying." His fingers brush lightly over the strings of his viol as if sealing the compliment into the air. "And yes, fate and fashion are far more intertwined than most care to admit. It would be a crime against artistry to save the city badly dressed."
He watches her move into the crowd with a glint of pride behind his mask, his ambient tune taking on an air of mystery fitting for the occasion.
"Oh thank you for all your help, and I hope you will enjoy the rest of the evening now." Lady Graham says quietly to the curator, then discreetly turning over what she was given into Kyreth's competent hands. "With compliments from our benefactor, perhaps you and Exa can figure out where the key goes, perhaps one of the cabinets." She quietly says to the tiefling student.
As she turnd to mingle with the rest of the masked noble patrons of the museum, Lady Graham feels her cheeks heat at the comment from the minstrel, something that hadn't happened in a long time now.
Exa obediently serves the curator her wine, pouring a more than generous cup. The kind of pour one might receive in a bawdy tavern rather than a well-to-do gala.
"Enjoy, madam," she says with a curtsy.
While she stands ready to serve the wine, her shrewd eyes are scanning the crowd, looking for any familiar faces among them, making sure none of the Zhentarim from this morning had tried to infiltrate the gala as they had.
Althea takes a few sips then throws the wine back, she'd best get to the Sages' Quill and calm Cassee down.
She steps up and bumps into Exa slipping a leather roll into Exas pocket, startling the Tabaxi, Use it well she whispered. Then in a swirl of red skirts she headed for the Buffet. Her object was to be seen as Alda so that she could finally slip away.
Exa looked around and unless the Zhents were dressed as nobles, there were none here, at least not those from this morning. Was it really such a short time ago?
Exa
Noting the confused shrug, Exa moved to stand near Susan. She asked quietly, "Do you know who was supposed to be serving the mead?"
DM
Susan the student to Exa.
No I don't know who it was, I suppose they might be sick. I'm here just to keep replenishing the drinks trolleys. I'll go and ask the barman in the buffet. Do you think you can double for the two at the moment? She whispered.
Exa
The tabaxi waves a casual hand.
"Not a problem. I got it covered. Let me know what he says."
DM
Susan the student nods at Exa and scurries off to find the barman.

Kyreth
"At the moment it has the things we've already acquired. Once the chaos begins we can grab it, but for now it's better if it's out of sight."

You hear the sound of court shoes on the marble and guests begin to arrive, their speech almost like twittering birdsong.

Unbearably curious, as her kind are wont to be, Exa slipped her hand into her pocket and tried to subtly feel out what the deposited item might be.
DM
Exa could feel tiny handles and heads. The leather tingled in her hands. Something enchanted?
